PSL 2021: Remaining Players Send Back To Home Due To Delay In Visa

PSL 6 remaining matches visas issued

The Pakistan Super League’s medical panel has sent the players back home due to a delay in getting the UAE visa.

Thirteen people in Karachi and Lahore were sent home. Quetta Gladiators’ captain Sarfraz Ahmed was also sent back home.

According to the details, all the players will depart for Abu Dhabi on the first available commercial flight as soon as visas are issued.

It should be mentioned here that the remaining players were quarantined in hotels in Lahore and Karachi since May 24.

Earlier, the remaining players including Sarfraz Ahmed went back to the hotel again from the airport after they were not issued the visa to play the remaining PSL 6 matches in UAE.

According to sources, Sarfraz Ahmed was in quarantine at the hotel for seven days and also expressed displeasure with the PCB management.

PSL 2021: Naseem Shah Allowed To Play Remaining PSL 6 Matches

Good news for all the Quetta Gladiators fans! Naseem Shah has been allowed to return in the bio-secure bubble to play the remaining PSL 6 matches.

A meeting was held Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises on Thursday, which now has been ended.

It was decided in the meeting to allow Naseem Shah to play the remaining PSL 6 matches, however, his return to the bio-secure bubble depends on his COVID-19 test reports.

The 18-year-old cricketer will leave for Abu Dhabi on the third chartered flight from Pakistan after completing bio-secure bubble protocols.

The protocols in Pakistan include a pre-arrival test, hotel isolation and 2 repeat tests.

It should be mentioned here that Naseem was sent back home for violating multiple COVID-19 protocols as he submitted a non-compliant RT-PCR test result.

Naseem Shah, expressed his pain after being out of the Quetta Gladiator’s squad in PSL 2021, as he violated the COVID-19 protocols.

Naseem, 18, in a tweet, recalls his memories with his mother and told that if today his mother would be alive, he would have shared his problems with her and she would have to calm him in his difficult time.

He tweeted, “I wish my mother was alive today, I would have told her about my grief. She would have said, why are you upset? I’m here for you.”

In his tweet, he wrote, “I worked hard and was passionate about PSL. I followed the instructions by viewing all the messages in the group. I don’t know how I missed this message”.

He further said, “I want to play cricket as it is my life. I can’t describe how I am feeling right now. Allah will make me strong. I will make a comeback”.

PSL 6: PCB strengthens COVID-19 protocols For Players Ahead of remaining matches

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has put stringent COVID-19 protocols in place for local players and officials for the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six.

According to the details, participants reporting from other cities in Lahore and Karachi were barred from coming on public transport.

Players are barred from travelling in their personal vehicles with the driver. The player is only allowed to drive his own car to reach the hotel.

Moreover, the players will enter the bio-secure bubble today (Monday) and then get tested for coronavirus for the second time. The PSL franchise teams will leave for Abu Dhabi via a chartered plane on May 26 (Wednesday).

Meanwhile, the squad members have started to send the results of their first coronavirus test to the PSL franchises and have been given instructions over the new COVID-19 protocols.

Note that the abandoned PSL 6 matches will take place in Abu Dhabi. The teams have been finalized, however, the schedule is yet to be announced.

The schedule of the remaining Pakistan Super League sixth edition (PSL 6) has been delayed as the travel plan was not issued.

According to the details, the charter flights to Abu Dhabi will depart on May 26.

On the other hand, players participating in the PSL 6 remaining matches have got themselves tested for coronavirus before leaving for UAE.

Tomorrow all the people associated with the Pakistan Super League will quarantine themselves in Lahore, Karachi’s hotel.

Corona test results of all players and coaching staff will be released tomorrow.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) earlier confirmed it had received all outstanding approvals and exemptions from the United Arab Emirates government for the staging of the remaining 20 HBL Pakistan Super League matches in Abu Dhabi.

According to the details, the PCB will now hold an online meeting with the six franchise owners later in the day to update them about the progress made as well as to finalize all details, which will be shared in due course.

PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan, in this regard, commented, ‘We are delighted with this development as the remaining hurdles in the staging of the remaining HBL PSL 6 matches in Abu Dhabi have been overcome and all systems are now good to go.’

PSL Owners May Postpone Remaining Matches If Clarity Not Given

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the six franchise owners on Wednesday (today) have discussed in a virtual session the operational “planning and delivery” of the remaining 20 Pakistan Super League (PSL 6) matches, which are scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates from 1-20 June.

Following detailed discussions in which all potential scenarios were reviewed and analyzed, it was unanimously agreed to wait until the close of business on Thursday (UAE time) before a final decision on the hosting of the remaining matches is made.

PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said,

“In today’s online discussion, we updated the team owners that the PCB had been advised that the PSL had received approvals from the relevant authorities in the UAE. However, some clarifications on certain exemption requests are still awaited, which are expected at some stage on Thursday.”

“The team owners agreed that if we do not receive clarity by Thursday afternoon, then they’ll have no other option but to request postponement of the remaining 20 matches.

“In the meantime, we will continue to liaise with the UAE government and the Emirates Cricket Board as they are equally keen for the event to be held in the UAE.”

The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday had allowed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to hold the remaining 20 matches of Pakistan Super League 6 (PSL) in Abu Dhabi, confirmed a source.

As per the source, the development took place today, as the PCB was impatiently waiting for the UAE government’s decision.

As soon as ECB got clearance from the UAE authorities, they conveyed the decision to PCB, confirmed the sources.

According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will make a final announcement in this regard in consultation with the franchises.

However, an important decision regarding the remaining matches is expected in the next few hours.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has planned to hold the remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 matches from June 1 till June 20 in Karachi.

According to sources, the players, in this regard, are instructed to report to the hotel on May 23.

From May 23, all the expected players will join the BioSecure Bubble and will undergo strict quarantine following the third wave of Coronavirus outbreak in the country, said sources.

The outsourced BioSecure Bubble Company has sent strict SOPs to the Pakistan Cricket Board, sources went on to add.

However, the cricket board and the PSL franchises have agreed on the rescheduled dates.

Earlier, the PCB and the franchises are intending to reschedule the remaining 20 matches for June 2021 in Karachi.
