“Bilawal Bhutto Does Not Need To Apologize Anyone”: Palwasha Khan

Palwasha Khan

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Palwasha Khan has said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was a kind of coalition.

Speaking to host Jameel Farooqui in BOL News’ program National Debate, Palwasha Khan said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has always tried to wall off PPP and ANP.

She further questioned, Does PDM aim to bring down the government or to bring down PPP?

Palwasha further added that with all these tactics, only the incumbent government will have benefits.

“Every government has to give an account of its 5-year performance,” she said adding, “Bilawal Bhutto and PPP actually formed the PDM.”

“PPP did not express withdrawal in PDM,” she added.

The PPP leader went on to add that these people should end the politics of pushing down the ANP.

“They have to point out the differences and lacks within the PML-N,” said Palwasha.

She added that these people have joined hands together, PPP has nothing to do with them.

Referring to the showcase notice served to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, Khan added that Bilawal does not need to apologize anyone.

Earlier, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari reportedly tore apart the show-cause notice issued to it by the PDM in a clear message to the alliance that the future relied entirely on mutual respect.

The PDM already suffered a blow when the Awami National Party (ANP) quit over its hijacking by some member parties.

On the other hand, PDM Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had expressed displeasure over Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) political behaviour and said that they ‘must admit their mistake.’

It is worth mentioning here that the Awami National Party (ANP) was the first party to left the anti-government alliance, followed by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) that also announced to resign from all posts of the opposition alliance in protest against the issuance of show-cause notices.

Awami National Party (ANP) Parts Ways From PDM

PML-N and JUI-F were irked after the Awami National Party (ANP) had announced its separation from the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

The JUI-F and PML-N leaders reacted to the separation of ANP from PDM terming it “the most humiliating move in political history”.

JUI-F’s secretary-general Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri over the move said, “ANP and PPP’s actions have led to the world laughing at us.”

“Despite all this, we went and spoke to ANP’s leadership and they said the move was made based on friendly ties,” he added.

Haideri warned ANP it had made a “blatant” mistake after blaming PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for lacking leadership.

“ANP should not have blamed Fazlur Rehman,” Haideri said.

Bilawal Bhutto, Hamza Shahbaz discuss political matters during phone call

Bilawal Hamza Telephonic conversation

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto held a telephonic conversation with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz here on Sunday.

During the call, Bilawal congratulated the PML-N leader over his release from jail. The two leaders also discussed matters related to mutual interest.

Furthermore, the PPP leader invited Hamza Shahbaz Sharif to a dinner on March 2nd in connection with the upcoming Senate Elections.

Earlier, (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman took place. Both the leaders agreed that in the case of Yousuf Raza Gilani’s victory on the Senate seat from Islamabad, they would bring a no-confidence motion in the Parliament.

Bilawal Bhutto said the PDM had challenged the PTI regime “on every front” and wished to send a message through the upcoming Senate election 2021.

“We will be successful in our mission,” he stressed. “We have prepared for both the open ballot and secret ballot method” in the Senate elections, he added.

Bilawal vowed to go to the PTI government’s home base and challenge it there. “We will also give a tough time to the government in KP,” he added.

“The PML-N seats won from Punjab will benefit us in electing the Senate chairperson and these votes will be very important,” he added.

“The MQM-P was elected from Karachi but the federal government left Karachi orphaned. We have talked to the MQM-P, members of the PTI government, and other allies of the regime.

“We hope that the Supreme Court will rule in accordance with the Constitution and the law,” Bilawal added.

Bilawal claims, ‘Govt. not serious in bringing about electoral reforms’

Bilawal Bhutto

Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was even ready to face the government for an open Senate vote, said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto here on Monday.

“The government wants to make the Senate elections controversial like the general elections were made controversial,” said Bilawal, adding that the federal government was attempting to do so through ordinances and references.

He said that the “right to secret ballot” was available for every citizen of Pakistan so that no one could impede their right to elect their representative without fear of any reprisal or revenge of any sort.

“My right to secret ballot is being attacked, my MPAs’ right to secret ballot is being attacked,” he said. “We are supportive of electoral reforms but this government does not want it,” added the PPP leader.

Bilawal said that if the government wanted to bring about electoral reforms, it could have done so easily over the past three years it was in power.

“When they got to know the Pakistan Democratic Movement was contesting Senate elections and they knew their MPAs and MNAs were not happy [with the government] they showed a lack of confidence in their own parliamentarians,” he added.

Moreover, when asked about his recent meeting with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl, Bilawal said that he and the PDM chief spoke about the ordinance and the anti-government protest movement.

The PPP chairperson said that Fazl had not given any “final location” for the long march, adding that discussions were held on whether the Opposition parties wanted to congregate at Rawalpindi or Islamabad.

“These are decisions which will be taken by the PDM. Maulana sahab has not given a final location,” he said.

“When our long march begins, our strength will be visible to everyone before we even reach Rawalpindi,” Bilawal added.

Bilawal demanded that the establishment should not play any role in politics. He said that if it becomes obvious after elections that the PTI participated in the elections as a party and did not receive any support, then it would be beneficial for Pakistan.

Earlier in a day, PDM Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman held meeting with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto.

During the meeting at Bilawal House today, the leaders discussed matters related to long march and upcoming senate elections.

According to sources, Sindh minister for information Nasir Hussain Shah and Sindh Educational Minister Saeed Ghani were also present during the meeting.

PDM Larkana: Bilawal says, “We will make these puppets run away”

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Ahead of 11-party opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Larkana on the occasion of Benazir Bhutto’s 13th death anniversary, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari paid a glowing tribute to Mohtarma Benazir.

While addressing the PDM Larkana Rally on Sunday, Bilawal said that they needed the intelligence of her mother in the country’s politics.

“Today we have to vow to fulfill Benazir Bhutto’s promise and save Pakistan,” he said.

Bilawal added, “She was not afraid of death as she knew that her coward attackers were preparing to assassinate her, but she returned despite all threats for the love she had for people of Pakistan.”

He said due to the government’s “anti-people” policies, millions of people were forced to live below the poverty line and people couldn’t afford two meals a day.

“The rulers neither see your poverty nor your unemployment nor the storm of inflation,” the PPP leader said.

“This puppet cannot provide bread and employment to people and says ‘I won’t leave anyone.’

“But now the people fed up of unemployment, poverty and inflation will not leave this puppet, oppressor and selected.”

Bilawal said he could not accept the country in its current state as a democracy “where there is no freedom of speech, writing, doing rallies and protesting peacefully”.

He said the PPP had linked its foundations to the PDM’s objectives, adding: “We have become one. We are on one page and one stage and we will make these puppets run away with your support.”

Bilawal reiterated that if Prime Minister Imran refused to resign by January 31, the opposition would stage a long march to Islamabad.

“We are in an open war with Imran Khan, will never step back”: Fazlur Rehman

Maulana Fazlur Rehman

Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has on Sunday said that today’s Peshawar gathering at the rally has rejected that rigged government.

Addressing the PDM Peshawar Jalsa, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Imran Khan wants to be the only ‘Guru‘ of Pakistan, we have declared war, we have to conquer his fort and stepping back from the battlefield is a grave sin.

The JUI-F Chief further added that the state is dependent on a stable economy but the present government has destroyed Pakistan’s economy in two years.

Today no country is ready to have better ties with Pakistan, even Afghanistan is disappointed, China’s 70 billion investment has been destroyed while Iran has gone to India’s lobby, Fazl said.

While criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government, “We curse your NRO. We will not give NRO to Imran Khan.”

Maulana Fazl also added that the PTI leader became the dealers of Kashmir and now they are shredding crocodile tears on the current situation in IOJK.

We will make this country a true democratic welfare and parliamentary Pakistan and we will continue to find our destination, the JUI-F Chief said.

Residents whose family members had been killed by terrorists or whose houses and shops had suffered damages had not been compensated either, said the PPP chief.

Opposition’s insistence on public rallies reflects stubbornness; says Shibli Faraz in a video response

Shibli Faraz video response

Minister for Information Shibli Faraz has on Sunday said people’s low interest in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rally shows their mistrust in the opposition.

As a responsive message to PDM Peshawar flop show, Shibli Faraz said people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) boycotted opposition’s rally, which indicates that they have rejected PDM’s anti-people agenda.

He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s appeal, kept themselves protected from Coronavirus by staying away from opposition’s meeting.

The Minister said Coronavirus is a reality and not a fictional tale. He said despite court’s orders, opposition’s insistence on organizing public rallies reflects its stubbornness.

The opposition has always given priority to its personal interest over people’s health and respect of law, Faraz added.

Shibli Faraz asked participants of the Peshawar rally to quarantine for the sake of others’ protection.

Earlier in a day, Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz said amidst the ongoing COVID-19 surge in Pakistan, putting peoples’ lives at stake for meager political gain is political persecution.

In his tweets on Sunday, the minister said playing with the lives of people and political workers exposes the mentality of opportunist political gangs.

He further added that the criminals who ruined the economy of the country and targeted national institutions are now bent on the effect on the health and livelihood of people.

‘PDM Deliberately Endangering Lives’

Furthermore, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday said that Pakistan will be compelled to go into a complete lockdown if the coronavirus cases continue to surge across the country.

However, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will be responsible for such consequences, the premier said.

Taking to his Twitter handle, PM Imran blamed the PDM for ‘deliberately endangering lives and livelihoods’ by holding jalsas despite ban on large gatherings amidst increasing COVID-19 cases.

Decline in Pakistan’s economy is due to incompetent PTI government: Bilawal

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari BBC interview

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has on Friday said that the decline in Pakistan’s economy and rising inflation is all because of an incompetent PTI government.

In an interview with British media, Bilawal Bhutto said Imran Khan-led PTI government has lost the trust in people.

The PPP Chairman said he was shocked to hear Nawaz Sharif directly accusing military leadership during his speech in Pakistan Democratic Movement‘s (PDM) Gujranwala rally.

It was decided in the PDM agenda to use ‘establishment’ word and not to take the name of any national institution, he said.

“We avoid such comments during public gatherings. No one person can be held responsible for bringing Imran Khan to power.”

We have only two options, take an extremist stance or stop and think about how to move forward, Bilawal added.

He said that we have to admit that progressive democracy is the only way, adding that The PPP will continue its efforts for democratic governance and strong democracy.

Pointing towards the Prime Minister, Bilawal further added that the people don’t trust PTI and Imran Khan much because they take U-turns.

‘Your political funeral will come from London’: Sheikh Rasheed slams Nawaz

Sheikh Rasheed

Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed lashed out at PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, warning him that he would suffer the same fate as MQM founder.

Speaking at a news conference in Lahore, Sheikh Rasheed said, “Your political funeral will come from London. Your politics will not thrive in Pakistan now.”

The railways minister challenged the PML-N to resign from the assemblies if they are serious in their campaign against the government. “Hand in your resignations. You will know where you stand,” he said.

The railways minister said that he knew about a secret meeting between Nawaz Sharif and another personality that took place in Istanbul’s Renaissance Hotel.

“Nawaz Sharif, I know about the meeting at Hotel Renaissance in Istanbul [that took place] at 11:20,” he said, putting a finger to his lips.

“I am not allowed to speak on it. And I have prohibited myself from speaking about it.”

Sheikh Rasheed criticized the former Prime Minister, saying that his party had also voted for army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s extension earlier this year.

“Do they think governments go because of jalsas?” asked Rasheed.

“If their jalsa is compared to Benazir’s 1986 and Imran Khan’s Lahore jalsa, then this was a failed and incomplete jalsa,” he said.

He said that the only reason that the 11-party Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was formed was so that Maryam Nawaz could agree to a compromise with the government and fly out of the country.
