Bakhtawar Bhutto pays tribute to her mother with beautiful portrait

Bakhtawar remembers her mother

On the 13th death anniversary of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto today, her daughter, Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari expresses love remembering her support system.

Here on Sunday, Bakhtawar Bhutto shared a beautiful portrait to pay tribute to Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated after an election campaign rally in Rawalpindi on December 27, 2007.

Bakhtawar, to express her love and gratitude to her mother, used flower and heart emojis.

Benazir Bhutto was born on June 21, 1953, in Karachi, Pakistan, the eldest child of former premier Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

She went on to found the Pakistan People’s Party and serve as the nation’s prime minister (from 1971 to 1977).

Furthermore, Benazir was a Pakistani politician who served as Prime Minister of Pakistan from 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1996.

She was the first woman to head a democratic government in a Muslim majority nation.

Her struggles for democracy are already a part of our history and a source of inspiration for the party workers.

She used to run her party in a democratic way, which ultimately strengthened unity within the party.

She used to consult with Party Presidents and Secretaries on the district level to make the best possible and informed decision.

PDM Larkana: Bilawal says, “We will make these puppets run away”

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Ahead of 11-party opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Larkana on the occasion of Benazir Bhutto’s 13th death anniversary, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari paid a glowing tribute to Mohtarma Benazir.

While addressing the PDM Larkana Rally on Sunday, Bilawal said that they needed the intelligence of her mother in the country’s politics.

“Today we have to vow to fulfill Benazir Bhutto’s promise and save Pakistan,” he said.

Bilawal added, “She was not afraid of death as she knew that her coward attackers were preparing to assassinate her, but she returned despite all threats for the love she had for people of Pakistan.”

He said due to the government’s “anti-people” policies, millions of people were forced to live below the poverty line and people couldn’t afford two meals a day.

“The rulers neither see your poverty nor your unemployment nor the storm of inflation,” the PPP leader said.

“This puppet cannot provide bread and employment to people and says ‘I won’t leave anyone.’

“But now the people fed up of unemployment, poverty and inflation will not leave this puppet, oppressor and selected.”

Bilawal said he could not accept the country in its current state as a democracy “where there is no freedom of speech, writing, doing rallies and protesting peacefully”.

He said the PPP had linked its foundations to the PDM’s objectives, adding: “We have become one. We are on one page and one stage and we will make these puppets run away with your support.”

Bilawal reiterated that if Prime Minister Imran refused to resign by January 31, the opposition would stage a long march to Islamabad.

PDM Larkana: “Incumbent govt. has little time left”, Zardari told the crowd

Asif Zardari Admits To Hospital After His Health Deteriorates

Ahead of 11-party opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Larkana on the occasion of Benazir Bhutto’s 13th death anniversary, PPP Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari the PTI government was unable to run the country and would remain so.

While addressing the PDM Larkana rally virtually, Zardari said, “These aren’t the people who run a country, they are the ones who run a cricket team.”

He added that while Benazir had passed away on this day she had left the message for her party to keep fighting for the country.

Zardari said in his tenure, he had joined his political rivals in order to “complete the Constitution” but now the country’s exports had fallen and the dollar had seen a steep rise.

“I want to ask you not to worry so much; they have little time left. They will fall due to their own weight,” the PPP leader told the crowd.

“Could anyone have thought that [former military ruler retired Gen Pervez] Musharraf would be yearning to come to Pakistan but he cannot?” Zardari said.

He added that history was witness to the fact that “whenever you have done anything against democracy, eventually the loss was of the country.”

“You will come and go, you have no importance. Like the party Musharraf formed came to an end, this party too will end,” he said without naming anyone.

Zardari said Prime Minister Imran should quit “if you accept yourself you are unable to run the country”.

“Everyone is hoping that one day Bhutto’s party will come into power and we will prosper [again],” he said, adding that the PPP had kept inflation under control despite financial crises.

The former president said he wanted all parties to unite on one page “but we shouldn’t dictate each other what to do. Learn something from us well; I may have experience of doing those things in the past.

“I ousted a general like a fly out of milk, so we can bring down Imran Khan as well but we need to change the mindset and methodology,” he said, adding that the opposition will have to “fill up the jails”.

‘Honour to attend Benazir Bhutto’s anniversary

Earlier today, PDM leaders including Bilawal, Maryam and others had lunch at Naudero House from where they left for Garhi Khuda Bux.

PDM Larkana: “Imran Khan himself confesses that he’s incompetent”, Maryam Nawaz

PDM Larkana Maryam Nawaz

Ahead of 11-party opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Larkana on the occasion of Benazir Bhutto’s 13th death anniversary, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said the demise of Mohtarma Benazir is a national tragedy of Pakistan.

Addressing the large PDM Larkana gathering on Sunday, Maryam Nawaz thanked the masses over their warm welcome and also prayed for the departed souls of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

The demise of Mohtarma Benazir is not a wound only on your hearts, but this tragedy hurts us as well, said the PML-N leader. She also paid a glowing tribute to the shaheed father-daughter duo.

She further added, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif was among the few people who was informed about Benazir’s death.

“I love my father’s ideology, I love my country, Pakistan,” she said, adding despite being political rivals, the PDM leadership is united on one stage as a family.

Further targeting Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Vice President said, “Imran Khan is himself screaming and saying I don’t know anything.”

Imran Khan is himself confessing that he is incompetent, Maryam said.

Referring to the premier, she said, “One person seems to be standing alone, failing and losing.”

She once again hit out at the government over inflation and allegedly hiding behind the establishment, telling Prime Minister Imran Khan he was not fighting the PDM but the entire population of Pakistan.

“Your war is not with PDM but with the 220 million people of Pakistan whom you have struck like lightning,” she said while addressing the premier, adding that the people had “won” this war.
