India can’t suppress Kashmiris freedom struggle via military might: AJK President

India

MIRPUR (AJK): President Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has said “India cannot suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom struggle by the dint of its occupational military might”.

Addressing a gathering of overseas Kashmiris in Birmingham, he denounced India’s relentless repression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and said despite using all means of oppression and state-terrorism, India has miserably failed in its attempts to crush the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for right to self determination, said a message released to the media here Monday.

Barrister Chaudhry, while reminding international community of its responsibilities stated that the United Nations should play its role grant right of self-determination to the Kashmiri people.

Referring to diaspora community’s role in promoting Kashmir cause globally, the president said that the dire situation in occupied Kashmir demanded overseas Kashmiris’ proactive role to prevent bloodbath of innocent civilians in the occupied territory.

He said that India, which claims to be the world’s largest democracy and secular state, had broken all records of barbarism and brutality in Kashmir.

Citing the ruthless persecution of religious minorities in India, he said that India had become a hell for minorities be they Muslims, Sikhs, Christians or untouchables.

The slaughter of minorities in India, he said, had proved the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s decision to create Pakistan on the basis of the two-nation theory as right.

The president said that Modi’s Hindutva policy was not only a threat to religious minorities in India but also in occupied Kashmir.

The rising tides of communalism, xenophobia, hatred and intolerance in Indian society, he said would ultimately lead to disintegration of India.

Barrister Chaudhry, while highlighting the Indian spy agency RAW’s involvement in the murder of a Sikh activist in Canada said that India had now emerged as a global terrorist at the international level.

Kashmiris to observe Indian Republic Day as Black Day tomorrow

Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the globe will observe January 26, India’s Republic Day, as Black Day tomorrow.

The protest aims to impress upon the world to take notice of India’s continued denial of the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

The call for observing Black Day has been issued by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and other pro-freedom organizations, including the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front.

The day will be marked by a complete shutdown in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), accompanied by anti-India rallies and demonstrations in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, and various world capitals.Pakistani cuisine recipes

The shutdown and demonstrations will send a strong message to the international community that India, as the usurper of Kashmiris’ fundamental rights, has no moral or legal justification to celebrate its Republic Day in the occupied territory.

In IIOJK, posters displayed by the APHC and other organizations have urged people to boycott all Indian official events and to hoist black flags on their homes, shops, and other buildings.

These posters have been surfacing at various locations in the territory over the past week, calling for resistance against Indian occupation.

The jailed Chairman of APHC, Masarrat Aalam Butt, in a message from New Delhi’s notorious Tihar jail, has appealed to the Kashmiri people to mark India’s Republic Day as a Black Day to register their voice against the Indian illegal occupation.

He emphasized that India’s military presence in Jammu and Kashmir is illegal, illegitimate, and unconstitutional, violating international law and principles of justice.

“A country that has stripped the people of Jammu and Kashmir of their fundamental rights has no moral ground to celebrate its Republic Day in the territory,” Masarrat Aalam Butt said.

He reiterated that India’s occupation is a blatant violation of global norms, and the Kashmiri people’s resistance against this oppression will persist.

The shutdown and protests aim to expose India’s hypocrisy and amplify the demand for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination—a promise enshrined in numerous UN resolutions yet ignored by New Delhi.

Pakistan urges UN to uphold it promise of self-determination to Kashmiris

Pakistan

UNITED NATIONS: In a message to the UN community on the Right of Self-Determination Day, Pakistan’s UN Ambassador Munir Akram has called for fulfilling the international community’s promise of freedom given to the people of Kashmir.

“Right of Self-Determination Day today is a somber reminder that the promise of self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir remains unfulfilled to this day,” the top Pakistani diplomat said, adding that this promise, enshrined in several UN Security Council resolutions, remained a moral and legal imperative for international community.

“As the world grapples with pressing challenges, the struggle of Kashmiri people serves as poignant reminder of the importance of upholding international commitments and human dignity,” Ambassador Akram said.

“Keeping the promise alive for self-determination requires unwavering global commitment and action.”

Kashmiris mark Indian Republic Day as Black Day

Kashmiris

MIRPUR-AJK: Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) observed Indian Republic Day on Friday (today) as Black Day, echoing their complete dissociation and intense hatred towards India.

According to AJK spokesperson, the Day served as a reminder to the world of the urgent need for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue, in line with the aspirations of the people and international norms and commitments, including UN resolutions on Kashmir.

Amidst anti-India slogans, mass rallies were held on both sides of the LoC, denouncing Indian subjugation and human rights abuses in the disputed region. This year’s Black Day carries even more significance, as it falls amidst the hardline Modi-led government’s revocation of Articles 370 and 35-A, turning the occupied valley into the largest prison for over four years.

The observance of Black Day also aimed to raise awareness about India’s continual denial of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and their struggle for freedom.

Pakistan will continue moral support of Kashmiri people: President

Pakistan will
  • President said in his message on the occasion of Right to Self-Determination Day.
  • He said the Kashmiris were observing the 74th anniversary of the Resolution.
  • Arif Alvi said the oppressed people of IIOJK had not been able to exercise this right.

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has said that the international community, especially the United Nations, had the responsibility to ensure the fulfillment of the promise and support the people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in exercising their inalienable right to self-determination.

“For its part, Pakistan will continue to extend its full political, diplomatic and moral support to the valiant Kashmiri people in their just struggle for dignity and rights including their inalienable right to self-determination, in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council,” the president said in his message on the occasion of Right to Self-Determination Day, being observed on January 5.

He said the Kashmiris around the world were observing the 74th anniversary of the Resolution adopted by the United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan (UNCIP), providing that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute would be decided through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite under the UN auspices.

In essence, he said it was a reaffirmation of the inalienable right of Kashmiris to self-determination which was enshrined in international law and upheld by international human rights instruments.

The president said that regrettably, the oppressed people of IIOJK had not been able to exercise this right.

“India continues to oppress the Kashmiris to break their will with massive human rights abuses. Since 5 August 2019, it is engaged in a vicious exercise of altering the demographic structure of IIOJK to turn Kashmiris into a minority in their own land.”

Pakistan strongly condemns extra-judicial killing of two more Kashmiris: MoFA

Pakistan strongly condemns extra-judicial killing of two more Kashmiris: MoFA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Tuesday said that Pakistan strongly condemns the extra-judicial killing of two more innocent Kashmiris in the Khanmoh area on the outskirts of Srinagar by the Indian occupation forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The impunity granted to Indian Occupation Forces has resulted in the systematic targeting of Kashmiri youth through extra-judicial killings, torture in custody, enforced disappearances, and incarcerations under the cover of draconian laws such as the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), Public Safety Act (PSA) and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).

Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Pakistan has consistently emphasized that the gross and systematic violations of human rights being perpetrated by the Indian occupation forces warrant an investigation by a United Nations Commission of Inquiry, as recommended by the OHCHR in its reports of 2018 and 2019.

The ministry added, Pakistan reiterates its call for independent inquiry under international scrutiny to investigate the unabated extra-judicial killings of Kashmiris by Indian Occupation Forces and to bring the perpetrators of these heinous crimes to justice.
