Kashmiris to observe Indian Republic Day as Black Day tomorrow

Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the globe will observe January 26, India’s Republic Day, as Black Day tomorrow.

The protest aims to impress upon the world to take notice of India’s continued denial of the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

The call for observing Black Day has been issued by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and other pro-freedom organizations, including the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front.

The day will be marked by a complete shutdown in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), accompanied by anti-India rallies and demonstrations in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, and various world capitals.Pakistani cuisine recipes

The shutdown and demonstrations will send a strong message to the international community that India, as the usurper of Kashmiris’ fundamental rights, has no moral or legal justification to celebrate its Republic Day in the occupied territory.

In IIOJK, posters displayed by the APHC and other organizations have urged people to boycott all Indian official events and to hoist black flags on their homes, shops, and other buildings.

These posters have been surfacing at various locations in the territory over the past week, calling for resistance against Indian occupation.

The jailed Chairman of APHC, Masarrat Aalam Butt, in a message from New Delhi’s notorious Tihar jail, has appealed to the Kashmiri people to mark India’s Republic Day as a Black Day to register their voice against the Indian illegal occupation.

He emphasized that India’s military presence in Jammu and Kashmir is illegal, illegitimate, and unconstitutional, violating international law and principles of justice.

“A country that has stripped the people of Jammu and Kashmir of their fundamental rights has no moral ground to celebrate its Republic Day in the territory,” Masarrat Aalam Butt said.

He reiterated that India’s occupation is a blatant violation of global norms, and the Kashmiri people’s resistance against this oppression will persist.

The shutdown and protests aim to expose India’s hypocrisy and amplify the demand for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination—a promise enshrined in numerous UN resolutions yet ignored by New Delhi.

NA passes unanimous resolution expressing solidarity with Kashmiris

NA passes

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly of Pakistan on Friday unanimously passed a resolution expressing solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on “Black Day.”

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam, presented the resolution on the 77th anniversary of the Indian invasion of Kashmir on 27th October 1947. The resolution reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Kashmiris in their struggle for the inalienable right to self-determination.

It said that lasting peace and stability in South Asia are contingent upon the final resolution of the Kashmir dispute, in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The House reiterated its rejection of India’s continued efforts to change the internationally recognized disputed status of India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, its demographic structure, and its political landscape.

The resolution also condemned the prolonged detention of thousands of political activists and the banning of several Kashmiri political parties.

It said farcical elections in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir cannot be a substitute for the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

The resolution demanded India to improve the human rights situation in IIOJK, release all political prisoners, lift a ban on political parties, revoke draconian laws and implement the UN Security Council’s resolutions on Kashmir.

In his address, Engineer Amir Muqam underscored the global recognition of the Kashmiris’ struggle, which has been marked by immense sacrifices. He stated that approximately 96,000 Kashmiris have been martyred, and over 100,000 homes have been destroyed in the freedom struggle.

The minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s ongoing political, moral, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people.

On the other hand, Jammu and Kashmir National Front has described the 27th as the darkest day in the history of Kashmir, saying that the attack on Kashmir by the Indian Army was the most brutal incident that plunged the region into a quagmire of instability and violence.

In a statement, JKNF spokesperson Muhammad Haseeb Wani said that October 27 was the day when the so-called secular leaders of India rushed their troops towards Srinagar in the dark of night and usurped the Kashmiris’ political and democratic rights they themselves struggled for while fighting against the Britishers”.

Kashmiris mark Indian Republic Day as Black Day

Kashmiris

MIRPUR-AJK: Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) observed Indian Republic Day on Friday (today) as Black Day, echoing their complete dissociation and intense hatred towards India.

According to AJK spokesperson, the Day served as a reminder to the world of the urgent need for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue, in line with the aspirations of the people and international norms and commitments, including UN resolutions on Kashmir.

Amidst anti-India slogans, mass rallies were held on both sides of the LoC, denouncing Indian subjugation and human rights abuses in the disputed region. This year’s Black Day carries even more significance, as it falls amidst the hardline Modi-led government’s revocation of Articles 370 and 35-A, turning the occupied valley into the largest prison for over four years.

The observance of Black Day also aimed to raise awareness about India’s continual denial of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and their struggle for freedom.

KARACHI: Pakistani doctors’ organizations have announced Black Day  on  October 19 across the country in protest against Israel’s war crimes in Gaza and the world’s criminal silence.

The different doctors’ association stated that Israel has crossed all limits in the current Gaza offensive.

The Israeli bombardment of Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza is a clear violation of the Geneva Convention. In protest, Pakistani doctors and medical staff will wear black bands and hold demonstrations today.

President of Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) Dr. Abdul Aziz Memon, Prof Dr. Sohail Akhtar, Dr Abdul Ghafoor Shoro, Dr Qaiser Sajjad, and Dr Faisal jointly stated in a press release on Wednesday that, Geneva Convention clearly states that in war situation the health care facilities, health care workers, and medical aid would not be disturbed.

“Isreal on the other hand has actually deprived the suffering Palestinians in Gaza of the necessary medical aid”. Yesterday it carried the most un-imaginable act of barbarism by bombarding Baptist Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza, killing hundreds of patients and civilians who were taking refuge in and around the hospital.

Medical organizations asked the UNO and WHO, and also the Pakistani and other Governments: Why on earth is Israel allowed to continue its criminal acts, and why the world bodies and governments do not stop the blatant killing of innocent civilians.
