Indian court claim cow dung protects from radiation

Indian court
  • Cow dung is immune to atomic radiation.
  • Cows are revered as sacred creatures in much of India.
  • Hindu nationalist campaign against cattle slaughters with government backing.

AHMEDABAD: An Indian court has ruled that houses made of cow dung are immune to atomic radiation such as nuclear blast fallout.

Cows are revered as sacred creatures in much of India, and authorities, in collaboration with Hindu nationalist groups, have cracked down hard on cattle slaughter in recent years.

The court in western Gujarat was hearing the case of a Muslim man accused of smuggling a herd to slaughter them, which is against state law.

Samir Vinodchandra Vyas, the presiding judge, called the 22-year-actions old’s “very disappointing” and sentenced him to life in prison after concluding that cow slaughter was the source of numerous global problems.

“Every problem in the world will be solved on the day that not a single drop of cow’s blood falls on the ground,” said a copy of his ruling, issued in late November but only recently published.

“Science has proven that even atomic radiation cannot affect houses made of cow dung. Many incurable diseases can be cured by drinking cow urine.”

Hindu nationalist groups in India are outspoken supporters of cow protection, campaigning against cattle slaughter with government backing and, on occasion, deadly consequences.

In recent years, “cow vigilantes” have driven Muslim-owned abattoirs out of business and lynched people accused of cattle slaughter.

However, bovine-centric religious policies have had unintended consequences, with stray cows that are no longer able to give milk or help plow fields becoming a common sight in villages and even on busy city streets.
