Divya Khosla Kumar calls out Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra’ makers for showing fake collections

  • Divya Khosla Kumar has publicly criticized Alia Bhatt’s Jigra.
  • Divya accused Alia of manipulating box office figures.
  • She shared a photo while watching Jigra in an empty theater.

Bollywood actor Divya Khosla Kumar has publicly criticized Alia Bhatt for her most recent film, Jigra, sparking a growing feud in the industry. Divya accused Alia of manipulating box office figures by purportedly purchasing tickets to increase “fake collections” in a recent Instagram story.

Sharing a photo of an empty theater, she sarcastically commented, “Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show. Theatre was totally empty … all theaters going empty everywhere.”

She further added, “#Aliabhatt me sach mein Bahut #Jigra hai.. khud hi tickets karide aur fake collections announce kar diye. Wonder why paid media is silent. #weshdnotfooltheaudience #truthoverlies #HappyDussehra.”

Here’s what she shared:

The post comes amid comparisons between Divya’s film Savi and Jigra. The plot of Savi, which stars Anil Kapoor and Harshvardhan Rane, is around a housewife who makes all possible efforts to free her husband from an English jail. In Jigra, Alia’s character plans a jailbreak to save her brother.

Jigra opened to a sluggish start at the box office on October 11 despite the anticipation. On its first day of release in India, the movie brought in ₹4.25 crore, mostly from its Hindi version, according to Sacnilk. However, the Telugu-dubbed version only made ₹5 lakh, and some morning shows in places like Nizamabad and Warangal had no viewers.

Jigra, which was directed by Vasan Bala, is an emotional tale about a sister (Alia Bhatt) who goes to an East Asian country’s death row to try to save her brother (Vedang Raina). Alia’s Eternal Sunshine Productions and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions are the co-producers of the movie.

Indian Man Chooses 18 LPA rejecting 23 LPA job: Find out why

Indian Man
  • An Indian man decided to turn down a job offer of 23 LPA.
  • He accepted a job offer of ₹18 LPA.
  • The man decided to take on a job that offers work-life balance.

Salary is a major topic of conversation when it comes to job offers in today’s competitive employment market. However, a recent decision by an Indian man to take a lower-paying position highlights a significant change in employee values.

On LinkedIn, Kataria revealed that his friend turned down a more alluring ₹23 LPA offer in favor of a job offering ₹18 LPA. After initially having his doubts, Kataria came to respect his friend’s choice, which is indicative of an increasing trend in which professionals are choosing work-life balance over financial gain.

His friend started working for a company known for its hybrid work culture, which offers flexible work schedules (five days a week) and encourages employees to maintain a better work-life balance. Conversely, the ₹23 LPA role limited personal time by requiring a rigorous six-day workweek without any options for remote work.

Kataria noted that the demanding hours of his friend’s previous job had negatively impacted his health, leading him to appreciate the importance of spending quality time with family and friends. “This decision is a reminder that compensation goes beyond numbers; it encompasses the quality of life we seek,” Kataria emphasized.

According to a recent survey, 47% of Gen Z professionals plan to leave their jobs within two years, with many prioritizing work-life balance. The report, “Gen Z at Workplace,” also revealed that 51% of Gen Z professionals fear job loss, while 40% worry about securing roles in their desired fields.

Pakistan urges action on war crimes in Palestine and Kashmir

Pakistan

UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan called on the world community “not to turn a blind eye” to the “war crimes” being committed in Palestine and occupied Kashmir, and underscored the need to eliminate impunity and secure justice for the victims of grave injustices.

“Crimes against humanity are among the most egregious violations of human rights, unsettling the very conscience of the international community,” Ambassador Usman Iqbal Jadoon, deputy permanent member of Pakistan to the UN, told the General Assembly’s Sixth (legal) Committee.

Speaking in a debate on Crimes against Humanity, he said Pakistan was “deeply concerned” about the ongoing cycle of occupation, oppression, and violence in Palestine.

“As we mark the dreadful one-year anniversary of Israel genocidal war against the Palestinian people, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen,” the Pakistani envoy said, highlighting that this tragic situation was a direct result of over seven decades of illegal Israeli occupation and disregard for international law, including General Assembly and UN Security Council resolutions affirming the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

“These inhumane actions by Israeli occupation forces are not only unacceptable but also constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity and a ‘plausible’ genocide as ruled by the International Court of Justice (ICJ),” the Pakistani envoy said.

In line with the recent General Assembly resolution on implementing the ICJ Advisory Opinion, he said, “Israel must Immediately and unconditionally withdraw from all occupied Palestinian territories; end its unlawful policies and make reparations for the damages; and ensure the Palestinians can exercise their right to self-determination. ”

In this context, Ambassador Jadoon said also underscored the necessity for global cooperation to eradicate impunity for culprits and to ascertain justice for victims.

While the International Law Commission’s draft articles and commentaries serve as crucial instruments for enhancing accountability by providing practical and insightful guidance to States, he emphasized that it was premature to establish any solid conclusions regarding their essence and layout.

“It is vital to ensure that the definitions outlined in the draft articles on the prevention and punishment of crimes against humanity — specifically for crimes such as enslavement, torture, and enforced disappearance – align with those enshrined in the corresponding United Nations conventions,” the Pakistani envoy said.
