Bollywood fans recently went into a frenzy when Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty reunited at an event in Gujarat, sparking speculation about a potential third installment of the beloved comedy franchise Hera Pheri.

However, Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty have since refuted the rumors, clarifying that their reunion had nothing to do with Hera Pheri 3.

Kumar took to Instagram to address the situation, sharing a video from the event. In the caption, he wrote, “At the 16th Akshay Kumar International Kudo Tournament 2024, two Guinness World Records were shattered, making it a truly memorable day—no ‘Hera Pheri’ involved.”

Kumar went on to express his gratitude to his co-stars for their presence, adding, “The event saw young champions giving it their all, learning valuable lessons in teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. And all this in the presence of our very own Babu bhaiya, @pareshrawalofficial and Shyam, @suniel.shetty who made the event extremely special, thank you.”

Suniel Shetty also shared photos from the event on Instagram, clarifying the nature of their reunion. “The Dhoom Dhadaka Orchestra is Back!!! But no Hera Pheri this time. Just all out Kudo Action!” he wrote, dispelling any rumors about the highly-anticipated sequel.

Kumar, Shetty, and Paresh Rawal first starred together in 2000’s Hera Pheri and later reprised their roles in the 2006 sequel, Phir Hera Pheri.

Paresh Rawal Opens Up About Overconfidence During “Phir Hera Pheri”

Paresh Rawal is eagerly anticipating the upcoming release of his next film, “Dream Girl 2.” The actor, who is set to make a comeback in the highly anticipated “Hera Pheri 3,” recently shared in a new interview that he had experienced a bout of overconfidence during the shooting of “Phir Hera Pheri” (2006). During an interview, Paresh revealed, “There was a sense of over-confidence and that shouldn’t have happened. Suniel Shetty Anna was earnest and honest and carried the legacy of Shyam in an amazing way. Characters and premises like Hera Pheri come our way very rarely.”

In his reprised role as Babu bhaiyya, Paresh elaborated, “We should approach it very diligently and handle it with a lot of delicacy. We shouldn’t tarnish it. I realized my mistake when I was dubbing for ‘Phir Hera Pheri.’ I understood that I had committed a grave error, a very bad mistake. But the situation was such that I hadn’t realized it at the time. Regardless, we shouldn’t have become so overconfident.” The forthcoming “Hera Pheri 3” will reunite Paresh with Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. Paresh was honored with the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role for his portrayal of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in the original “Hera Pheri” in 2001. The Hindi film, directed by Priyadarshan, was a remake of the Malayalam film “Ramji Rao Speaking” (1989).

In recent months, the cast also collaborated on a promotional announcement for the film. The announcement confirmed the return of the original trio, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal, in “Hera Pheri 3.” This announcement dispelled any speculations about other actors joining the cast. While the film’s script is in progress, the shooting is scheduled to commence at a later date. Additionally, Paresh disclosed that the third installment of the beloved franchise would feature the characters’ global escapades, as they travel to destinations such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Los Angeles, California. “Hera Pheri 3″ will be directed by Farhad Samji.

In a recent conversation, Ayushmann shared his initial uncertainty about Ananya’s suitability for the world of Dream Girl 2.

During an interview, Ayushmann expressed his initial reservations about Ananya’s fit for Dream Girl 2 due to her urban background. He candidly revealed, “I was always thinking that she’s an urban girl, and how will she get accustomed to the milieu of Mathura, a city from tier-2 India. But I think she adapted really well. We had a dialect coach Yash Chaturvedi, who helped us with the accent. Every 10 km, the accent changes in our country.”

Ayushmann went on to explain how Ananya proved him wrong by mastering the dialect and delivering an impressive performance in the film. He mentioned, “But she was bang on with the accent which is great. If you’re a Bombay girl, it’s tough to catch those accents. I speak and think in Hindi, so it becomes easy for me. But she’s done a great job in the film. And we’ve seen that in the past also, in Pati Patni Aur Woh. She’s already done a film based in Uttar Pradesh.”

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Motion Pictures, Dream Girl 2 is anticipated to be a comedic gem. Akshay Kumar has acquired Indian citizenship, showcasing evidence of the change through official government documents shared on his Twitter account. Prior to this, Akshay held Canadian citizenship, a fact that drew criticism from certain segments. On Twitter, he presented a document listing his name as Akshay Hariom Bhatia, accompanied by a message: “Dil aur citizenship, dono Hindustani. Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind.” His followers congratulated him and extended Independence Day wishes.

He asserted, “Possessing a Canadian passport doesn’t diminish my Indianness. I remain very much Indian. I’ve been here for the past nine years since obtaining the passport. I won’t delve into reasons, the ‘whys,’ what happened, my films weren’t succeeding, and so on — well, that’s okay.”

“Yes, I mentioned it in 2019, I initiated the process. But then the pandemic emerged. For 2-2.5 years, everything came to a halt due to the pandemic. The renunciation letter has now arrived (and) soon my new passport will arrive as well.” He humorously added, “What can I do, I’m not responsible for the pandemic.” Despite the challenging climate, Akshay’s recent release, “OMG 2,” alongside Pankaj Tripathi, has performed well at the box office, even against competition like “Gadar 2.”

Additionally, he is set to star in the untitled Hindi remake of “Soorarai Pottru,” slated for a September 1 theatrical release, alongside Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal. Further on, he features in the action thriller “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” with Tiger Shroff, scheduled for Eid 2024.

Akshay Kumar will reunite with Riteish Deshmukh for the fifth installment of his successful comedy franchise, “Housefull.” Additionally, he is anticipated to appear in the highly awaited “Hera Pheri 3.”

Ayushmann Khurrana Shares Insight Into His ‘Dream Girl’ Character

Ayushmann Khurrana has unveiled his method of preparing for the role of Pooja in the movie Dream Girl.

During discussions about his preparation, Ayushmann shared insights into how his prior experience as a radio jockey greatly contributed. He disclosed that he engaged in prank calls impersonating a woman while working at the radio station. Additionally, he revealed that he assumed the role of his girlfriend’s female friend when her father answered their landline.

“My tenure as a radio jockey and my involvement in theater truly assisted me, particularly in this film. I would make prank calls as a woman during my time at the radio station. Furthermore, when I called my first girlfriend, I would feign to be her female friend if her father picked up the landline,” stated the 38-year-old actor.

Ayushmann Khurrana also touched on whether Dream Girl 2 would differ from the initial instalment. According to him, they successfully enhanced the humour in the second part, making it even funnier than the first one.

Ayushmann added, “Ekta (Kapoor) and I wanted it to be funnier than the previous part and I really feel that we have managed to do that. It’s actually version 2.0….double fun.”

Dream Girl, released in 2019, proved to be a blockbuster, prompting the decision to create a sequel. Dream Girl 2 is scheduled to hit theatres on August 25 and features a talented ensemble including Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz, Annu Kapoor, Ananya Panday, and more.

Ayushmann Khurrana Opens Up About ‘An Action Hero’ Box Office Failure

Ayushmann Khurrana is preparing for the release of his upcoming comedy-drama film, “Dream Girl 2,” which is one of the most highly anticipated sequels of the year, co-starring Ananya Panday. The official trailer of the film was released at a launch event in Mumbai. During the event, Ayushmann candidly addressed the box office failure of his recent release, “An Action Hero,” attributing it to poor timing. He expressed his belief in the film’s eventual acceptance and praised the creative process behind it.

At the trailer launch, Ayushmann stated, “It’s like a jigsaw puzzle; you need to fit into the puzzle. The timing was not right, maybe. The process is very important. Arshad Warsi has confirmed that the highly anticipated film Welcome 3 is currently in development. The third installment of the 2007 comedy film Welcome, directed by Anees Bazmee, is set to feature a star-studded lineup. The movie will see the return of Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, and Paresh Rawal in leading roles. Warsi also revealed that he will be sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar once again in Jolly LLB 3.

In a recent interview, Warsi expressed his excitement about Welcome 3, stating, “The scale of Welcome 3: the cost, the climax, is unreal. It is an insanely larger-than-life theatrical film of which I will be a part. Paresh Rawal reconnected with Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty earlier this week for a special announcement trailer for Hera Pheri 3. After being stalled for a while, the comedy franchise’s third movie is now finally in production. The movie’s filming will start in three months, according to the actor who will return as Babu Bhaiyya. The protagonists from the movie will travel to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Los Angeles this year. Hera Pheri 3 will be directed by Farhad Samji.

Kartik Aaryan, who was slated to join the franchise, won’t be appearing in the movie, the actor further informed. In 2000, Paresh, Akshay Kumar, and Suniel debuted as Babu, Raju, and Shyam, respectively. The Hindi film, which was directed by Priyadarshan, was a remake of the Malayalam movie Ramji Rao Speaking (1989). The original cast also included Tabu and Om Puri; a follow-up, Phir Hera Pheri, written and directed by Neeraj Vora, was released in 2006.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Paresh said of meeting Akshay and Suniel Shetty, “Meeting them was like ghar wapsi” (returning home). Shooting with Akshay and Suniel is always enjoyable. They are brilliant actors who are confident in their abilities. We respect each other. Our on-screen chemistry is a reflection of our friendship off-screen.

We’ll start shooting in three months, he continued. Mumbai will have a [full] schedule. According to reports, students at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) dressed up like well-known Bollywood movie characters to mark “Bollywood Day.” The LUMS photography group (Photolums) recently posted a video of the occasion on TikTok, and it has since been widely shared on various social networking sites. Students were spotted dressed up as various Bollywood characters and reciting their catchphrases, including Paresh Rawal’s Baburao from the Hera Pheri series and Shah Rukh Khan’s Devdas (2002).

The student in the video, who appeared to be from the Pakistani institution, imitated Sushmita Sen’s Chandni Chopra from Main Hoon Na while wearing a green sari. Did you just sing to me? was Sushmita’s line that she spoke. One imitated Chulbul Pandey from Dabangg, played by Salman Khan, by dressing up as a cop (2010). He spoke Salman‘s statement, “I’ll shoot so many bullets into your body that you won’t know where to breathe from and where to,” which goes, “Hum tum mein itne ched karenge ki confusing ho jaoge ke saans kahan se le aur.”

Students went all out, dressing up as everyone from Raj Malhotra (Shah Rukh Khan) from Mohabbatein to Shanaya Singhania (Alia Bhatt) from Student of the Year to the renowned cop from the Bajirao Singham series. A pupil was spotted imitating Alia from her 2012 directorial debut. She spoke the now-famous actor’s words, “Haath mein pom pom leke ladko ke liye chillana mera style nahi hai (It is not my style to carry pom poms and clap for lads),” while dressed in a red frock. A pupil might also be seen wearing Priyanka Chopra’s Barfi avatar (2012).

A portion of social media users were upset that Pakistani students were praising Bollywood, but many others defended the event and offered their support. Disgusted to see them like this, tweeted a Twitter user from Pakistan. One person tweeted in favor of the students, “Why? Did they break any laws when they did that? They only did it for fun.” One more person tweeted, “For God’s sake just let them be. Allowing people to think freely is important for creativity; don’t stifle it.” On the video, an Instagram user wrote, “bordered by divisions. By the same art.” Another individual added, “They all look fantastic.”

Hera Pheri 3 cast spotted at 53rd IFFI Goa

It appears that Hera Pheri 3 is finally in the works as a new gang is coming together. Having said that, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Kartik Aaryan were recently seen interacting at the 53rd IFFI Goa.

The trio were spotted enjoying themselves at the event amidst all the excitement and rumors around the final casting. Kartik approached Paresh Rawal as soon as he entered the theater to extend his greetings. Hugging the two actors was festival visitor and actress Suniel Shetty.

Hera Pheri, which debuted in 2000, became an instant popularity with viewers. The original cast of the picture, which was directed by Priyadarshan and written by Neeraj Vora, included Tabu, Om Puri, and Gulshan Grover in addition to Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal.

Kartik has taken Akshay’s position, however Suniel Shetty had already revealed that he had been contacted for a different part. According to Shetty, Akshay Kumar cannot be replaced as the star of the Hera Pheri movie series. Getting Akshay back in the movie, he informed the portal, would be the best outcome because no one could ever replace him. “The makers are in talks with Kartik for a completely different character. So, there’s no argument.”

The actor continued by saying that there would always be a hole in the movie because Akshay isn’t in it. He admitted that while he is preoccupied with his next show, Dharavi Bank, he is actually unaware of the happenings. “I have had no time to sit down and work on all this. After November 19, I’ll sit down and understand and talk to Akki and others and see what happened.”

Fans expressed their disappointment at the latest development and called for Akshay Kumar to return to the film when it was revealed that Kartik Aaryan would be appearing in the sequel rather than Akki.

Akshay had previously stated in response to the same situation that he had pulled out on his own. He continued by saying that Hera Pheri was a part of him and had many wonderful memories of him. He acknowledged that he shared the regret that part 3 had not been produced after all these years and said that he had been given the role but had turned it down because of his dissatisfaction with the screenplay.

‘Hera Pheri 3’: Paresh Rawal confirms return of classic comedy

Indian leading actor Paresh Rawal spoke about his upcoming film Hungama 2, working with Meezaan, what he thinks about a Priyadarshan comedy film, and finally, an update on Hera Pheri 3.

After portraying the character of a coach in Farhan Akhtar’s Toofaan, Paresh Rawal is all set to tickle your funny bone with his upcoming film Hungama 2.

The actor, who tagged the film as a “very clean family entertainer with a good storyline,” is collaborating once again with director Priyadarshan. The actor-director duo has previously worked on several hits, including Hera Pheri, Chup Chup Ke, Hulchul, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa to name a few.

While talking in an interview about Hera Pheri 3, Rawal said, “They are trying to work it out. Hopefully, by the end of this year, you will get good news.” Speaking about whether there is a fear of being repetitive with the comedy genre, he mentioned, “You can become repetitive or regressive if your story is not good.”

Talking specifically about Hungama 2, Rawal noted that when it comes to Priyadarshan, the audience will never “experience vulgar or double meaning comedy. You will not see any sort of physical deformity being ridiculed.” He expressed that a situational comedy like Hungama 2 “won’t go out of fashion. So, that is the advantage of working with him.”

Continuing to speak about whether a comedy restricts an actor in any way, Rawal continued, “It all depends on the script. When you are working on a comedy film, don’t think you are attempting comedy. Treat it like another or any other character. You are just playing a character in a comical situation but you should not take it upon yourself. You stick to your job, which is acting.” He concluded, “The rest is on the director. In my perspective, it is a healthy way of approaching comedy.”
