Kartik Aaryan, known for his successful films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Luka Chuppi, and Freddy, faced a setback with the failure of his latest venture, Shehzada. The movie, a Hindi remake of the Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo starring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde, disappointed audiences and left Aaryan contemplating his choices.

Speaking to BBC Asian Network, Aaryan candidly admitted that the failure of Shehzada taught him a valuable lesson – he will no longer be a part of remake films. He expressed, “While filming, I didn’t realize it, but I later understood that people have already seen this story. I don’t see them spending money to watch the same thing again in theaters. So, I got a big perspective.”

The ongoing trend of remakes in Bollywood made him reflect on his decision-making process. Aaryan firmly stated, “Every now and then, a remake arrives, but I’ve decided that I would not enjoy it. I would not like to do something which somebody has already done.”

Despite the setback, Aaryan found some comfort in the success of Love Aaj Kal 2, co-starring Sara Ali Khan, which gave him the biggest opening at that time, despite mixed reviews.

Looking ahead, Kartik Aaryan is gearing up for his next project, Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan. Rumored to be based on the life of India’s first Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar, the film offers a fresh challenge for the actor.

In 2022, Kartik Aaryan and Anees Bazmee joined forces to create magic with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, propelling the actor to new heights as it became his first blockbuster. The film’s success extended its reach to the tier 2 and 3 centers, captivating audiences from all walks of life. Notably, it also played a crucial role in luring moviegoers back to the cinema halls in the post-COVID world. Given the overwhelming response, Pinkvilla first reported that Bhushan Kumar’s production house was gearing up for a third installment, reuniting Kartik Aaryan with Anees Bazmee. The makers soon confirmed the project and even locked the Diwali 2024 release date.

Now, in an exclusive update, we have learned that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is all set to begin filming in February 2024. “Currently, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is in the scripting stage, and the team has finalized the basic plot for this iconic horror comedy franchise’s third chapter. The concept is now being crafted into a full-fledged story. Bhushan Kumar himself is deeply involved in ensuring all aspects of this horror-comedy are just right, and he is committed to commencing filming in February 2024,” revealed a source closely associated with the project.

Before diving into Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Anees Bazmee is expected to wrap up shooting for his upcoming comedy starring Shahid Kapoor, tentatively titled “1722 – Ek Saath Do Do.” “Anees Bazmee will immerse himself in the pre-production of BB 3 towards the end of this year. Kartik, Anees, and Bhushan are all deeply invested in preserving the essence of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa brand while incorporating a unique element into the overall narrative. The shooting will span over four months, starting from February,” added the source.

As for Kartik Aaryan, he will complete shooting for “Chandu Champion” before embarking on this chilling comedy adventure. “He may also sign on for one more film before BB 3, but the decision is yet to be made. Kartik is currently reading several scripts and is expected to finalize one within a fortnight,” disclosed the source.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will be produced by T-Series and helmed by the talented Anees Bazmee. The film is all set to enchant audiences with laughter and fright, as it is confirmed to hit the cinema halls during the festive season of Diwali in 2024. Arjun Rampal keeps in mind that while filmmaking is definitely an art, it is also a business at the end of the day. Additionally, despite an actor’s stellar performance, the majority of the time, box office talk takes precedence. Naturally, the discussion is summarized by the failure of a film.

Rampal’s final film, Dhaakad, starring Kangana Ranaut and spending a lot of money, was released in theaters. Additionally, it failed to live up to expectations. When you inquire about it, he responds, “It was an expensive film, so it does hurt when it doesn’t do well.” It did not, in my opinion, deserve to perform such numbers. At the time, there was skepticism among people. One of the first films to be released following the pandemic was Dhaakad. It’s possible that people were afraid to go to the theater.

However, he simultaneously mentions a film with which it clashed. We cannot even say that; Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 performed exceptionally well. It’s possible that we released the wrong movie. Accepting the film’s fate is all that is required to move on.

The truth is the truth. However, the film is there, I am proud of it, and I will continue to be proud of it. The 50-year-old, who will next be seen in the movie Crack, adds, “You are in a good space as long as you take that much away from a film.”

He says that movies with big budgets naturally have to do well at the box office, but he also thinks about the game of numbers. Naturally, a film with a budget of 250 crores places as much pressure on its performance as any other. Yet, happy driven films is what I watch. Spectacle cinema in general interests me. That is my option. We all needed it, and the industry needed those numbers, so I’m very happy for Pathaan. You can’t say that box office numbers don’t matter,” he says at the end.

Shehzada, the film starring Kartik Aaryan, had a mediocre opening on Friday. It is well behind Kartik’s best opening of his career, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, with a reported first day collection of $7 crore. Kriti Sanon also appears in the movie, which was also directed by Rohit Dhawan.

Early predictions, according to a report by industry insider Sacnilk, predict that the movie would bring in $7 crore on its opening day. The horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik’s most recent release, debuted to a much higher number with an opening of 14 crore. Starring Paul Rudd as Scott/Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne/The Wasp, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, the movie is directed by Peyton Reed of The Mandalorian fame. Jonathan Majors plays Kang the Conqueror, a new antagonist in the third film.

He also stated that, despite keeping his motivations a mystery, he is a competent and hard-working actor who excels in both humor and action, and he asked, “Kaha he aisa all-rounder?” (Where can you find someone as versatile as me?)

Last year, Kartik Aaryan and Alaya F appeared in the Disney+ Hotstar film Freddy. One of Kartik Aaryan’s forthcoming movies is Aashiqui 3, which will be helmed by Anurag Basu. Alongside Kriti Sanon, he will also be featured in the movie Shehzada. Kartik Aaryan reveals receiving $20 million for ten-day shoot

According to reports, Kartik Aaryan is one of Bollywood’s highest-paid actors right now. The actor, whose first movie Pyaar Ka Punchnaama (2011) paid him 1.25 lakh rupees, opened up about making 20 crore rupees for a movie that he shot during the Covid-19 pandemic. The actor, who referred to himself as the “Shehzada (prince)” of Bollywood, further elaborated on why he was deserving of the compensation in a recent interview.

In the past, it was claimed that Kartik Aaryan received 20 crores for just 10 days of work on the 2021 terror thriller Dhamaka by Ram Madhvani. The actor, however, had not formally affirmed it. Now, in addition to discussing his supposed 20 crore remuneration, he also explained why filmmakers give him the huge sum.

Kartik was told by journalist Rajat Sharma he had become ‘so obsessed’ with himself that after earning ‘sava lakh ( ₹1.25 lakh)’ in his first film (Pyaar Ka Punchnaama), he was now asking for ₹20 crores. The actor blushed, and replied, “Woh to dus din ke hain (This was for 10 days).” When he said he was joking, the host corrected him, and said in Hindi, “No, you are not joking. For the film you shot during Covid-19 pandemic in 10 days, you took ₹20 crore.” Kartik then said, “Sir yeh kiya tha corona ke time pe, par kya mein aise dicuss kar sakta hoon apni fees, mujhe nahi pata. Par haan woh ek film (Dhamaka) aise bani aur dus din ka shoot tha uska. Woh mera remuneration tha aur main dus din mein kya, bees din mein paise double kar deta hoon apne producers ke, toh banta hai (Yes, during the Covid-19 pandemic I had shot for the film for 10 days and that was my remuneration. I make my producers earn double the money in 20 days, so I think I deserve what I am paid).”

Karthik was also told that he said started acting like he was ‘hero number one’ after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2; the horror-comedy was one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films released in 2022. To which the actor responded in Hindi, “I have always seen myself as no. 1, slowly people are also getting to know that and are seeing me like that. But the audience’s love is what matters the most to me. I am desperate for their love and only for that am I obsessesed with myself and want to give hit films… there’s only one Shehzada (prince) in the film industry.”

Kartik last appeared with Alaya F in Freddy. The movie was made available on Disney+ Hotstar. The future work of Kartik includes the Anurag Basu-produced film Aashiqui 3. Shehzada, who is also his, is with Kriti Sanon. The movie, which also stars Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, and Ronit Roy, is an adaptation of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo into Hindi.
