Actor Utkarsh Sharma recalls hurting Salman Khan during shooting of ‘Veer’

Utkarsh Sharma, known for his role in Gadar 2, recently shared his experiences working as an assistant on his father Anil Sharma’s film Veer.

Reflecting on his early days in the industry, Utkarsh recalled how he didn’t initially know the workings of a film set. “Mujhe kuch nahi pata tha halanki set pe dekha hai par kaam kya hai mujhe nahi aata tha toh uss set pe maine clap dena sikha jo bhi behind the camera cheez hai woh seekhe,” he said.

Accompanying his father to London for the film’s production, Utkarsh got a chance to observe the star power of Salman Khan, who played the lead role. One memorable moment involved a clumsy mistake where Utkarsh accidentally hit Salman’s nose while giving a clap.

He recalled, “Ek baar toh maine clap dete dete unki naak beech mein daal di, but bohot graceful the unhone kuch kiya nahi.” Salman’s calm and graceful reaction left a lasting impression on him.

Utkarsh went on to describe Salman’s magnetic on-screen presence, noting his ability to convey emotional depth, especially in romantic scenes. “Unhone apne roles mein apne asli jazbaat daale, aur unki imaandari ne mujhe kaafi prabhavit kiya,” Utkarsh said, emphasizing the actor’s authenticity.

Veer, directed by Anil Sharma, starred Salman Khan, Zareen Khan, and Mithun Chakraborty in prominent roles.

The film, directed by Anil Sharma, shattered box office records, becoming the second-highest-grossing film after “Pathaan.” Amidst this success, the longstanding feud between Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan, stemming from their fallout on the sets of Yash Chopra’s 1993 film “Darr,” once again became a topic of discussion.

During an appearance on Rajat Sharma’s show “Aap Ki Adalat,” Sunny Deol discussed the feud with his “Darr” co-star Shah Rukh Khan and his bond with Salman Khan. Regarding the rift with King Khan, Sunny Deol stated, “Those were different times when it happened. I believe people forget what happened back then. One understands such things should not have happened. It was ‘bachpana’ (childish), definitely. After that, Shah Rukh and I met several times and spoke to each other about many things. We also talked about some movies. This time, he was watching my film with his entire family. And he called me up. So everything is fine now.”

Sunny Deol also highlighted his warm relationship with Salman Khan, saying, “Salman and I have a different equation. Obviously, I’m senior to him. When I used to work, he used to come on the set… Always… He had a good bond with Papa (Dharmendra)… And so that give-and-take, which is with very few people, was there. Obviously, it is not that they are my colleagues. I have my bonds with everyone. I am what I am, you may like it or may not like it.”

It’s worth noting that Salman Khan praised “Gadar 2” on social media, writing, “Dhai kilo ka haath equals chalis cr ki opening. Sunny paaji is killing it. Congrats to the entire team of Gadar 2.”

Reports suggest that SRK and Sunny Deol didn’t speak for 16 years after their disagreement over the climax of “Darr.” Sunny had previously mentioned that he had a heated discussion with director Yash Chopra about the film’s ending and even tore his pants in anger. He expressed his concern with “Darr” glorifying the villain character played by SRK, a point he was unaware of.

However, Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan have evidently reconciled, with Sunny inviting SRK to the success party of “Gadar 2” and posing together for photos, signifying their resolution to move past their differences and maintain a friendly relationship. Currently, Shah Rukh Khan is basking in the massive success of his recent release, “Jawan,” directed by Atlee, while Sunny Deol is enjoying the success of Anil Sharma’s “Gadar 2.”

While audiences have showered the film with love for its storyline, nostalgic elements from the original Gadar, and the lead pair’s chemistry, Ameesha Patel finds herself in a dispute with the film’s director, Anil Sharma. Initially, Ameesha expressed her hesitance to join Gadar 3 unless her and Sunny’s characters, Tara and Sakeena, received substantial screen time. In response, the director remained unfazed, asserting Sakeena’s character originated from his heart, not hers. Ameesha has now responded to these comments, shedding light on their strained relationship.

Ameesha Patel revealed that her differences with Anil Sharma date back to the first Gadar film, though they still consider each other family. If approached for Gadar 3, Ameesha would only consider it if her character Sakina plays a significant role alongside Tara, similar to their roles in Gadar 1. She expressed sympathy for Anilji’s efforts to promote his son Utkarsh in Gadar 2, acknowledging him as a sweet boy and hoping prominent industry figures start recognizing his talent.

It rapidly crossed the noteworthy threshold of Rs 400 crore in India, making it the second-fastest Hindi film to attain this achievement. Alongside its captivating action sequences and the cast’s performances, the movie’s music played a pivotal role in its triumph. The integration of iconic songs from the original film, released 22 years ago, evoked a sense of nostalgia and entranced the audience. Particularly, two tracks from Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, namely ‘Udd Ja Kaale Kaava’ and ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Leke,’ were reimagined for the sequel. However, Uttam Singh, the music composer of the 2001 film, has now accused the creators of utilizing his work without his consent.

In a conversation with Amar Ujala, music director Uttam Singh expressed his discontent about the unapproved usage of his songs and background music in Gadar 2. He conveyed, “They didn’t approach me for Gadar 2, and I’m not in the habit of seeking work myself. They have incorporated two of my songs in the film, and I’ve also come to know that they’ve used the background music that I composed. At the very least, they should have the courtesy to contact me and discuss before employing my songs in the film.”

The film’s music has been composed by Mithoon and encompasses a blend of both old and new songs. ‘Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava’ has been reimagined with the original voices of Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, presenting a romantic melody visualized with Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. Conversely, ‘Main Nikla Gaadi Leke’ exudes a lively atmosphere as Sunny, Ameesha, and Utkarsh groove to its spirited beats, sung by Udit Narayan and Aditya Narayan. Additionally, the soundtrack introduces fresh songs like Arijit Singh’s ‘Khairiyat’ and ‘Dil Jhoom,’ as well as Neeti Mohan and Vishal Mishra’s ‘Chal Tere Ishq Mein.’

Rajinikanth’s Film ‘Jailer’ Poised To Cross ₹300 Crore Mark At Indian Box Office

Rajinikanth’s Tamil movie “Jailer” is poised to surpass the ₹300 crore milestone at the domestic box office. The film garnered ₹3.65 crore on its second Wednesday across languages in India, according to reports. The film’s current total at the domestic box office is ₹295.65 crore. “Jailer” was released on August 10, a day before Akshay Kumar’s “OMG 2” and Sunny Deol’s “Gadar 2.” While “Gadar 2” is leading, “Jailer” holds the second position. Although “Gadar 2” has surpassed the ₹400 crore mark, “Jailer” is on track to reach the ₹300 crore mark soon.

“Jailer” opened at ₹48.35 crore on a Thursday, surpassing “Gadar 2,” which opened a day later with ₹40 crore. In its first week, “Jailer” accumulated ₹235.85 crore but experienced a slowdown after its second weekend.

The film directed by Nelson Dilipkumar has become the second fastest Tamil film to cross ₹550 crore globally in just 12 days. The quickest film to achieve this feat was Rajinikanth’s 2018 movie “2.0,” which accomplished the milestone in eight days. The movie also features Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, and Vasanth Ravi. Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, and Jackie Shroff make guest appearances in the film. Tamannaah Bhatia plays a role and is featured in a special dance number called “Kaavaalaa,” which gained popularity on the internet even before the film’s release. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film features music by Anirudh Ravichander.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has returned to Chennai after his spiritual journey to Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand. He offered prayers at the Badrinath Temple in Chamoli, Ram Janmbhoomi, Hanuman Garhi in Ayodhya, and other places. Along the way, he met various politicians, including Uttar Pradesh governor Anandiben Patel, chief minister Yogi Adityanath, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, and Jharkhand governor C. P. Radhakrishnan.
