Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel‘s film, Gadar 2, has achieved tremendous success, nearing the Rs 500 crore milestone. While audiences have showered the film with love for its storyline, nostalgic elements from the original Gadar, and the lead pair’s chemistry, Ameesha Patel finds herself in a dispute with the film’s director, Anil Sharma. Initially, Ameesha expressed her hesitance to join Gadar 3 unless her and Sunny’s characters, Tara and Sakeena, received substantial screen time. In response, the director remained unfazed, asserting Sakeena’s character originated from his heart, not hers. Ameesha has now responded to these comments, shedding light on their strained relationship.

Ameesha Patel revealed that her differences with Anil Sharma date back to the first Gadar film, though they still consider each other family. She clarified that the character of Sakina was conceived by the writer Shaktimanji, not by Sharma. Her decision to do the film was primarily for Sunny Deol and Zee Studios, as Sharma initially favored Mamta Kulkarni and Govinda for the lead roles.

Regarding unresolved payments, Ameesha disclosed her tweets about the matter, which Anilji requested she delete. She has evidence of his request in their chat. She also mentioned removing tweets related to actress Simrat Kaur, a part of the film. Ameesha clarified that she deleted them at Sharma’s behest, emphasizing their familial connection. Ameesha noted having communication from the Zee Studios team expressing surprise at Sharma’s handling of the film’s production, although these concerns were later resolved by Zee. She also mentioned having videos of Sharma making commitments to her that he didn’t fulfill. If approached for Gadar 3, Ameesha would only consider it if her character Sakina plays a significant role alongside Tara, similar to their roles in Gadar 1. She expressed sympathy for Anilji’s efforts to promote his son Utkarsh in Gadar 2, acknowledging him as a sweet boy and hoping prominent industry figures start recognizing his talent.

In the midst of filming for his upcoming movie, Gadar 2, Sunny Deol uploaded a video of a humorous incident he had while traveling on Ahmednagar’s back roads. The man he met, who was traveling in a bullock cart, was oblivious to the Bollywood actor he had just happened to run across. He openly admitted to Sunny that he resembled the actor Sunny Deol.

The bullock wagon that appeared in the opening scene of the video was being questioned by onlookers about the items it was hauling. He claimed to be bringing jowar (sorghum) husk for animals. Sunny then entered the picture, his back to the camera, shook hands with the man, and then he turned to face the camera from the opposite side.

The bullock-cart driver and Sunny then engaged in discussion. The man said, “Aap Sunny Deol jaise lagte hain (you look like Sunny Deol),” after the actor inquired as to his destination. Ha wohi hoon (Yeah, I am that person),” Sunny chuckled. The man was shocked and gave the actor another handshake while exclaiming, “Arre baap re” (oh my god).

Currently, Sunny is developing the follow-up to his popular action movie, Gadar. The second movie, which is set for release on August 11th, will also be directed by Anil Sharma, and Ameesha Patel will also be working with the cast.

The first Gadar 2 poster was published online last month and received a lot of positive feedback from fans. Sunny had stated at the trailer launch, “Gadar – Ek Prem Katha has played a significant role in both my personal and professional lives. Sunny Deol is seen in the Gadar 2 first look poster as a desi avatar. The actor is walking through what appears to be the rubble of a place in ruins while carrying a sledgehammer in his hand and projecting an intense expression. Sunny tweeted the movie’s poster on Thursday “Long live India! Hindustan zindabaad hai, zindabaad tha, and zindabaad rahega! We present to you the largest sequel to an Indian film in 20 years on this Independence Day. Release date for Gadar 2 is August 11, 2023.” Utkarsh Sharma, who played Sunny and Amisha’s son in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, is also a featured actor in the film and is the son of director Anil Sharma.

Sunny appeared in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which was directed by Anil Sharma and also starred Amrish Puri and Ameesha Patel. One of Bollywood’s highest-grossing movies ever at the time was the drama from 2001. The sequel was released more than 20 years after the first film. The future movie’s director has already started filming in Lucknow. Gadar 2 is currently being made.

In September of last year, Sunny Deol remarked that sequels to movies are sometimes “messed up” by the filmmakers, but he added that he was confident in the second instalment of his well-liked movie Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. In an interview, Sunny had stated to Pinkvilla, “We muck things up when recording part two. We must write a part two if the writing is strong, but we shouldn’t create it merely for the sake of creating one. I have a lot of faith in the movie. Everyone I meet wants to see something, and Gadar Ek Prem Katha provides that. In October, we start filming again, and we finish in December. Early 2023 will see its release.

In an interview with Hindustan Times in April 2022, director Anil Sharma discussed Gadar 2 and said, “We have worked with the same cast and characters Tara Singh (Sunny), Sakina (Amisha), and Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma). The narrative has also advanced 22 years. It’s a natural process for everyone because my son (Utkarsh) has developed from a child to a young person. It will be a new movie for new viewers and a sequel for longtime viewers.
