After the underwhelming performance of Om Raut’s Adipurush, which was among the biggest and costliest films, reports suggest that Prabhas has decided to steer clear of Bollywood filmmakers for the time being. Instead, he plans to focus on projects from the South and has no interest in hearing scripts from Bollywood.

Prabhas’ decision has also led to the shelving of his much-anticipated film with director Siddharth Anand. Pinkvilla exclusively revealed that Anand has returned his remuneration of Rs 65 crore to Mythri Productions as the project has been put on hold.

One of the primary reasons for the film’s postponement was the unavailability of matching dates between Siddharth Anand and Prabhas. Both these talented individuals have packed schedules for the next few years, leaving them unable to find a common window for their collaboration.

Amid these developments, Prabhas is currently busy with his upcoming project, Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin. The film, recently unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con, has generated significant buzz, boasting a star-studded cast that includes Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Disha Patani in leading roles.

Additionally, the actor has lined up other exciting ventures, including Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit and a Telugu comedy film helmed by director Maruthi.

Despite the recent setbacks, Prabhas remains a sought-after actor, and his fans eagerly await his future endeavors, especially those from the Southern film industry. “Adipurush,” the highly anticipated mythological epic starring Prabhas, has completed its theatrical run in most parts of India, except for the Telugu states where it continues to generate collections. The film has amassed an impressive total of approximately Rs. 304 crore at the Indian box office so far, with expectations of adding another crore or two in the coming days.

While “Adipurush” enjoyed a promising start on its opening day, it faced challenges due to mixed audience reception, resulting in a significant decline in its overall performance. The film experienced more significant setbacks in the Hindi belt, where initial interest in the Ramayana theme gradually waned. However, the Telugu states managed to maintain a better box office trend compared to the Hindi belt, showcasing a higher degree of sustained audience turnout.

In the Telugu states, “Adipurush” has grossed Rs. 128.50 crores in 19 days of release, making it the thirteenth highest-grossing film in the region. It also claims the distinction of being Prabhas’ highest-grossing non-Baahubali franchise film, surpassing the earnings of “Saaho.” The film has achieved a distributor share of Rs. 71 crores, although this falls short of recuperating the distributor’s investment, resulting in a loss of over Rs. 50 crores.

Among the top grosser, two films by SS Rajamouli stand out, while there is a significant gap between the rest, with no film surpassing the 200-crore mark. Despite the eight-year gap since its release, the first “Baahubali” film continues to hold a prominent position. It is worth noting that ticket prices have significantly increased since the release of the first “Baahubali,” particularly in Telangana, where prices have tripled. However, Andhra Pradesh experienced a partial reversal of this trend due to government regulations last year. The coming year holds promise with several big releases, including “Pushpa 2,” “Salaar,” “Project K,” “Devara,” and “Game Changer,” with hopes that most, if not all, will surpass the Rs. 200 crore mark.

Ram Charan has selected four Indian films for worldwide audiences

After watching the Oscar-nominated Telugu film, Ram Charan, who is presently in the US promoting with the RRR crew, suggested four other Indian films for his international admirers to check out. The actor choose a variety of movies, one of which was a Hindi feature and the rest were Telugu productions. Also, he picked four Hollywood movies that he enjoyed and could watch repeatedly.

Prior to the 95th Academy Awards on March 12, the actor has been on a press tour in the US. He has appeared on American television numerous times. The Oscars’ Best Original Song candidates include Lady Gaga and Rihanna, and RRR’s Naatu Naatu is up against them. Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava will both sing during the Oscars event, it has already been established. He might even be performing a dance routine on the main stage on Oscar night.

In a Letterboxd interview, Ram was asked what other Indian movies viewers should watch following RRR. The actor chose three Telugu movies, one of which was one of his 2017 blockbuster hits, along with a Hindi cult classic starring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi. He revealed, “There are a lot of classics from my region in southern India, Danna Veera Soora Karna. I’d answer, Mr. India. Elizabeth director Mr. Shekhar Kapur wrote a great plot for it. I consider Baabubali, Mr. Rajamouli’s earlier movie, and Rangasthalam, which I directed.”

The grandfather of Jr. NTR’s RRR co-star, NT Rama Rao, produced and directed the legendary movie Danna Veera Soora Karna in 1977. He also praised Rangasthalam, his own successful film starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and SS Rajamouli’s prior big movie Baahubali.

Ram also mentioned some of his favorite Hollywood films, saying, “I can start… Terminator 2 and [The] Notebook are two of my favorite movies. Remember those large LED discs we used to purchase back then? I started counting, and I think I watched it 50, maybe 50, times. I used to watch it a couple of times a week. I would have seen the movie. That is how much I cherish the film. Gladiator. each and every Tarantino film. The Inglorious Bastards are good. One of my favourites.”

Rajamouli, Ram, and composer MM Keeravaani attended a sold-out showing of the movie on Wednesday in Los Angeles. The RRR team also took part in a Q&A session in the theater, which has a capacity of more than 1,600 people.

On several of his films, his father V Vijayendra Prasad writes the screenplay. His brother Kanchi Rajamouli is a writer, and his son Karthikeya is a producer. His relatives are the composers MM Keeravani and Kalyani Malik, who were nominated for this year’s Oscars for their work on RRR’s Naatu Naatu.

The American director added that aspiring filmmakers ought to speak less and pay attention to people around them who have more expertise. He advised them to consult with older people, work together, and pay attention to them. “You can’t make a movie like RRR without everyone in a cooperation where everyone believes that they are contributing the best of who they are so your movie will be the best thing they’ve made,” he said.
