Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi recently discussed the backlash he received for calling Prabhas a “joker.”

In an interview with India Today, he admitted this was the first time he felt he was on the wrong side of criticism. He shared, “Anything negative will bother a positive person,” but added that he has grown used to negativity in the industry. “Honestly, it’s okay. Everyone has their point of view. Also, it’s a democratic country, and everyone is allowed to speak,” he said.

Following the controversy, some noticed that Arshad had disabled comments on his social media. He clarified, saying, “I don’t know how to do that.” When asked if the incident made him more cautious about his comments, he humorously responded, “Absolutely, I have decided that I will love every film that I watch. I will love every actor for the rest of my life (laughs).”

Earlier, during a podcast with Samdish Bhatia, Arshad mentioned the last bad film he watched was Kalki 2898 AD, questioning why Prabhas looked like a “joker” in the film. This remark drew criticism from several celebrities in the Telugu film industry, including actor Nani and director Nag Ashwin.

Deepika Padukone has been enjoying massive success with recent films like Pathaan, Jawan, and Kalki 2898 AD. Her upcoming film, Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty, is expected to be another hit, but the internet wasn’t thrilled with her appearance in the trailer that dropped on Monday.

Deepika, playing a cop named Shakti Shetty, is seen in a khaki uniform, wearing sunglasses, and speaking in a Marathi accent. She introduces herself as “Lady Singham” in the film.

An X user shared a clip of Deepika from the trailer, writing, “naah (crying emojis) what is wrong with her.” Another commented, “Never thought after seeing Arjun Kapoor and Tiger (Shroff) in the cast, someone could act worse than him. But congratulations Deepika.”

One user compared her current role to her debut in Om Shanti Om, noting, “It’s been 17 years! And she hasn’t improved a bit.” The tweet added, “The greatest trick Deepika Padukone has ever pulled was convincing a bunch of teenagers that she is a good actress.”

Meanwhile, a Reddit user blamed Rohit Shetty’s direction, writing, “Shetty has somehow managed to make even THAT smile annoying (crying emoji).” Another criticized her accent: “It’s the forced ‘Tapori’ accent. Heyy bhagwan (Oh God). It’s not working.”

Singham Again also stars Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, and others, and is set to release on Diwali, November 1.
