Twinkle Khanna, a former performer who is now a published author, has penned a humorous new essay on boredom and how sometimes it’s better to embrace it than fight it. She even made mention of how it really aided in bringing her and her husband, Akshay Kumar, closer together when they were co-actors.
“On the other hand, being bored at one point, (before the advent of smartphones, where I could pass hours scrolling through feeds of airport looks) also made me more receptive to taking up the laborious task of jogging with my co-actor, which eventually led to matrimony and two kids with slightly more athletic genes,” Twinkle wrote in her most recent column for The Times of India.
In 1999, Twinkle and Akshay appeared in films like Zulmi and International Khiladi. Aarav and Nitara were born into the couple’s marriage in 2001. On social media, Twinkle frequently publishes amusing posts about her marriage.
She shared a picture of a card Akshay had chosen for her on their 22nd wedding anniversary last month and recounted the time she had told him she would never wed him. “He alone might have discovered the ideal card! I told him on our sixth date, “I would never marry someone like you.” I don’t remember asking you, he immediately retorted. I was really taken aback by the line.
We have created a life that includes two children, our extended families, employment, friends, pets, independence, and stability over the course of more than 20 years.
