ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) founder Imran Khan was acquitted in another case of Long March vandalism registered in Islamabad’s Margalla police station.

Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas acquitted PTI founder and others. On the plea of ​​acquittal, lawyers Sardar Masroof and Amina Ali gave arguments while  Asad Umar and Raja Khurram Nawaz were also acquitted in the Long March vandalism case.

The court said in the verdict that the incident of Long March vandalism was stated by the prosecution, no witness was involved in the investigation.

The court declared that the assistant sub-inspector is not authorized to issue a notification on behalf of the plaintiff’s case, and the assistant sub-inspector is also not authorized to register the case as a plaintiff.

The court said that the CCTV was also not provided in the court and the investigating officer did not present any evidence against the founder PTI and others, so they are acquitted.

It should be noted that a case was registered against Imran Khan and others under the provisions of inciting public and public servants.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended the sentence of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi’s sentences in the Toshakhana case and ordered them to be released on bail.

A two-member bench headed by Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi’s request for suspension of sentence in the Toshakhana case, in which Imran Khan’s barrister Ali Zafar argued.

During the hearing, the court asked whether the appeal was scheduled for hearing today. “Will not initiate an appeal, argue for suspension of the sentence if you wish”.

On this, Ali Zafar said that instead of suspending the sentence, “we will argue on the central appeal”.

Chief Justice Aamer Farooq said that after hearing the Toshakhana case today, we cannot keep it for hearing tomorrow.

During the hearing of the case, the NAB prosecutor said that the decision has been reviewed and this is a case of suspension of sentence. On this, the court said that this is a highly commendable stand of NAB.

Later, the court suspended the sentence of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana case and ordered them to be released on bail.
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq said that the appeal against the sentence will be decided after Eid.

It should be noted that the Toshakhana reference against Imran Khan was filed on September 5, 2022, and the court sentenced Imran Khan and his wife to 14 years in prison on January 31, 2024.

Lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat said that it has been decided in the court of Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan, on which the Superintendent of Adiala Jail said that there was an order that six people will be allowed to visit apart from the lawyers.

The court has allowed 6 people to meet PTI founder daily which is not possible for jail administration and there were 7,000 prisoners in the jail.

Justice Arbab Tahir talking to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail said that jail administration comes with a new objection every day.

Superintendent Adiala Jail Asad Waraich said, “I am also following the order of the court, this is also the notification of the Punjab Home Department”.

In the petition, it is requested that the decision of the trial court should be declared null and void and discharge Bushra Bibi from the case.

Plan C ready for general elections, claims PTI founder

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder said that plan C is also ready regarding the general elections.

While talking informally to the media in Adiala Jail, Imran Khan said that democracy is being trampled under the London Plan and people are being picked up despite the start of the election campaign. He said women and children were imprisoned in the May 9 incidents.

The founder of PTI said that Plan C should be maintained in the general elections and this will shock everyone on February 8.

During the conversation, Imran Khan said that despite the overthrow of the government, he held talks with the former army chief.

He demanded that the trial in the jail in the cipher case be shown live, saying, “I want the nation to know what is happening”.

PTI founder moves LHC against rejection of nomination papers

LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) founder has moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the rejection of nomination papers in NA 89 and 122.

The former PTI chief filed a petition in the court through his lawyer. The petition was filed against the rejection of nomination papers from two constituencies of the founder PTI.

Founder PTI filed a petition against the rejection of nomination papers in NA 89 and 122, contending that the Returning Officers rejected the papers contrary to facts in both the constituencies, objecting that the Returning Officers were convicted.

In the petition, it was said that in NA-122, an objection was raised that the proposer was not from the same constituency, and both objections are not by the law.

The petition requested that the court annul the decision of the returning officers and the tribunals and allow the founder of PTI to contest the elections.

PTI founder declared ineligible to contest election from Mianwali

Mianwali: After Lahore, the Election Tribunal also rejected the nomination papers of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) from Mianwali to contest the election.

Founder PTI Imran Khan’s nomination papers from NA 89 Mianwali were rejected by the returning officer(RO), against which he filed an appeal in the tribunal.

Rawalpindi High Court Bench Election Tribunal judge Justice Chaudhry Afzal heard Imran Khan’s appeal in which PTI leader Ali Zafar argued, while the tribunal reserved its decision on the appeal on January 7.

The Election Tribunal rejected Imran Khan’s appeal against the rejection of his nomination papers from NA-89 Mianwali and upheld the RO’s decision to disqualify him for the election.

Earlier, the Election Tribunal has declared PTI founder Imran Khan ineligible to contest the election from NA-122 Lahore as well.

Imran Khan had submitted nomination papers from two National Assembly constituencies, including NA 122 Lahore, NA 89 Mianwali, to participate in the general elections.
