Saudi Arabia lauds Pakistan’s role in countering Islamophobia

Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Sunday said that Pakistan is playing a key role in countering Islamophobia.

According to the details, while giving an exclusive interview via video link, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said that the visit of the Pakistan Prime Minister to Saudi Arabia is important in the history of both countries.

He said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are working to meet the challenges facing the Muslim world, adding that, ‘Pakistan is playing a key role in tackling Islamophobia.’ ‘There is a need for dialogue among the international community to tackle Islamophobia.’ He said.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, while responding to a question about Pakistani prisoners, said that Steps are being taken to release them as Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman has announced their release.

He said that the Crown Prince is also willing to visit Pakistan soon, the 70-year relationship between the two countries is very important.

Giving details about the meetings, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said that the tour focuses on investing and expanding trade.

PM Imran Khan will begin two-day visit to Saudi Arabia today

Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan is embarking on a three days official visit to Saudi Arabia from today.

According to the details, Imran Khan is visiting the Kingdom on the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

During his visit, Prime Minister Imran Khan will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Foreign Minister and other members of the Cabinet.

Prime Minister’s consultations with the Saudi leadership will cover all areas of bilateral cooperation including economic, trade, investment, energy, job opportunities for Pakistani workforce, and welfare of Pakistani Diaspora in the Kingdom.

The two sides will also exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Several bilateral agreements/MoUs are expected to be signed during the visit.

The Prime Minister will meet the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, the Secretary-General of the World Muslim League, Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa and the Imams of the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Medina.

He will also interact with the Pakistani Diaspora in Jeddah.

A lockdown is expected to be imposed in Saudi Arabia due to rising cases of COVID-19 in the kingdom.

The Saudi Interior Ministry spokesman said,

“Rising cases of coronavirus in Saudi Arabia are alarming. It could lead to lockdowns in some cities and villages.”

He further added,

“If the epidemic rate and critical cases continue to rise, strict action will be taken.”

Moreover, the spokesman for Saudi Interior Ministry also advised people to follow the Sops “If SOPs are not followed, some activities may be banned in the Kingdom.”

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s health ministry had announced that pilgrims who want to perform Hajj this year must receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the details, Saudi Health Minister Tawfiq Al Rabiah had said that participation in the Hajj season will ensure that pilgrims must be vaccinated, as part of the main condition for the pilgrimage. 

“The COVID-19 vaccine is mandatory for those willing to come to the Hajj and will be one of the main conditions (for receiving a permit to come),” a circular signed by the health minister read.

Saudi Arabia has made it mandatory for all male and female workers in restaurants, cafes, barbershops, and beauty salons.

According to the details, the decision will take effect on Shawwal 1 of this year.

In case of non-compliance with the vaccination instructions, the concerned authorities will have to submit a ‘PCR’ report of coronavirus being negative after every 7 days.
