CTD arrests wanted terrorist of banned outfit in Karachi

KARACHI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Tuesday arrested a wanted Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in Karachi’s Manghopir area.

According to the spokesperson of CTD, CTD and the federal secret agency acted on a secret information near Norris Chowrangi Manghopir, during which Wali Rehman, a terrorist of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, was arrested.

The spokesman said that a hand grenade has also been recovered from the possession of the arrested accused while the terrorist belongs to Commander Azmatullah alias Tariq group.The terrorist is involved in several attacks on security institutions.

According to the spokesman, in 2007, the terrorist had martyred a member of the Peace Committee, Turkestan, along with Commander Ahmad Hasan alias Safeer. Terrorist Wali-ur-Rehman had also received suicide training from the slain commander Qari Hussain.

LAKKI MARWAT: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police and security forces killed three terrorists including the most wanted terrorist Zubair in a joint operation.

According to the details, CTD and security forces conducted a joint operation near Shah Hasan Khel and Abdul Khel areas of Lakki Marwat district, where three terrorists including the most wanted terrorist of banned Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Zubair, were killed in the exchange of fire.

Police officials said that the dead terrorists have been identified as local commander Muhammad Zubair, Faisal alias Umar and Jawad. The terrorists were wanted in cases of attacks on police, forces, target killing and extortion.

Punjab Home Department submits May 9 tragedy report

LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has submitted a detailed report of the May 9 tragedy to the government.

Sources at the Punjab Government Standing Committee on Law and Order have approved the May 9 tragedy report and the report has now been made a regular part of the official documents. The comprehensive report of the tragedy consists of 17 pages.

The report said that the May 9 attack was a war against the state. On May 9, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists attacked the state. This attack was in the style of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan(TTP).

The text of the report states that according to the evidence, the May 9 plan was a pre-planned, attack on state institutions at the behest of PTI’s central leadership, the leadership’s agenda was only to attack state institutions.

According to the text of the report, plans were made to target military installations in advance, PTI activists attacked the GHQ Building, Corps Headquarters, ISI offices, Air Base, Martyrs’ Memorial, and attached buildings. The attacks on buildings, GHQ, ISI offices, and installations were part of the plan.

The report further states that PTI central leadership is responsible for the May 9 tragedy, the May 9 tragedy involved the central leadership as well as the local leadership, inciting people through phone calls and social media by the party leadership.

The report has given the names of people who were inciting people through social media.

The names of Hammad Azhar, Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, Ghulam Mohiuddin, Ali Abbas, Andleeb Abbas, Mian Mahmood ul Rashid, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Murad Ras, Mansab Awan, Azam Khan Niazi, and Bajash Niazi are included in the report.

LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab arrested a terrorist of the banned organization Tehreeek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during a raid in Sahiwal.

The CTD spokesman arrested a terrorist and recovered explosives while conducting an operation on Bonga Hayat Road in Sahiwal.

According to the spokesperson of CTD,  a partially prepared IED, two Prima Cards and a detonator have been recovered from the arrested terrorist.

Spokesman said the terrorist was identified as Osama Farooq, who belongs to Jampur, and the arrested terrorist belongs to the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

CTD has registered a case and started the proceedings.

LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has arrested the commander of banned Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Pakpattan.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the law enforcement agencies arrested the commander of the outlawed TTP from Pakpattan in a major operation.

CTD spokesman said that apart from Pakpattan, CTD arrested four alleged terrorists while conducting operations in Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, and Sahiwal.

CTD officials said that explosive materials, five detonators, two hand grenades, and weapons were also recovered from the possession of the alleged terrorists.

According to details, 200 militants involved in anti-Pakistan activities were arrested in Afghanistan and the Taliban government claimed that the militants were arrested for cross-border attacks.

According to Voice of America(VOA), Pakistani officials said the Afghan interim government provided details of the crackdown against the outlawed Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to a high-level delegation from Islamabad in Kabul last week.

According to the American media, all the arrested militants are now in jail.

The Chief Spokesman of the Afghan government, Zabihullah Mujahid, says that the government has implemented concrete measures to end terrorist activities, and no one is allowed to use Afghan soil against Pakistan.

PESHAWAR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Peshawar has arrested two main terrorists of the outlawed Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) involved in extortion.

Deputy Inspector General(DIG) of Police CTD Financing Unit Imran Shahid while talking to the media said that two terrorists involved in extortion have been arrested. He said arrested terrorists are associated with the outlawed TTP.

DIG CTD said that the terrorists used to call and demand extortion and threatened to kill them if they did not pay the extortion.

He said that 28 written complaints were filed against the incidents, but many people avoided taking legal action against the accused due to fear. He added that most of their followers are in Mohmand and they aim to extort money from the citizens and business community by intimidation.

Imran Shahid further said that the arrested terrorists were involved in 28 cases of extortion and were operating in Mohmand district, along with the arrested accused, 71 other people are also included in the group.

KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested the main commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Karachi.

According to the CTD in-charge, the terrorist was identified as Nasrullah, who is the main commander of TTP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he was arrested from Kuwari Colony and weapons were recovered.

The terrorist not only provided accommodation to his colleagues in Karachi but also treated the injured colleagues. Besides, he used to send money in different ways in Afghanistan.

According to CTD, the brother and close relatives of the accused are also involved in terrorism.

Earlier, CTD arrested the main commander of the banned organization Daesh from Karachi and recovered 30 bore pistols from his possession in February 2023.

Abdul Malik, the commander of the banned organization Daesh, made important revelations during the investigation.

According to the authorities, the accused has been associated with ISIS Mullah Abdul Manan group since 2011 and has Afghan citizenship while living in Karachi for a long time.

KABUL: As many as six terrorists were killed and 15 others were injured on Thursday in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack targeting the Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) in Afghanistan’s Khost province.

According to the sources, TTP commanders killed in the IED attack include Abdul Manan, Alam Khan Mudakhel, Kajir, and three unknown terrorists.

The injured terrorists are commander Fazal Amin, and Commander Muhammad alias Tofan. , including Commander Noor Payo Khan, Faqirullah Turzai, Sat Kare, Ali Sar Khan, Zubair, Hijratullah, Kamal, Sher Afzal, Bakhtullah, Zabihullah, and two unknown terrorists.

Sources said that after the blast, there was a wave of disillusionment and dissension in the TTP leadership.

Further, sources report that TTP circles have noted an increase in problems for TTP after Pakistan sent a delegation to Afghanistan.
