Tom Cruise is all set to start a ‘Dark Monstrous Universe’

Tom Cruise
  • Tom Cruise is a household figure because to his action-packed film series.
  • Cruise has been in a number of big-budget films and played roles from a variety of genres.
  • The Mummy, the 2017 picture was created on a budget of roughly $125-195 million.

As per reports, Tom Cruise’s control or the lack of it, was the reason behind Universal’s ‘Dark Monstrous Universe’ failing.

The 2017 film, which had a budget of roughly $125-195 million, grossed over $410 million at the box office. Unfortunately, it failed to impress spectators and critics, and director Alex Kurtzman regards it as  “probably the biggest failure of [his] life”  In fact, it was even nominated for worst film, worst director, worst actor, worst supporting actor, worst supporting actress, worst script and much more at the 2018 Golden Raspberry Awards — it won for worst actor.

Tom Cruise is a household figure because to his action-packed film series such as Mission: Impossible and Top Gun, as well as his love life. With nearly four decades in the film industry (his debut picture, Endless Love, was released in 1981), the actor now has a voice in how a film will be perceived upon its release.

Cruise has been in a number of big-budget films and played roles from a variety of genres. In reality, he dabbled with the Dark Universe – Universal’s effort to build a cinematic world of interrelated monster flicks with The Mummy in 2017 – but it was an expensive disaster. This universe – the studio’s aspirations for something like to Marvel’s Avengers – was supposed to include films based on other fictitious characters such as Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Wolf Man, but nothing came to fruition.

Returning to Tom Cruise’s The Mummy, the 2017 picture was created on a budget of roughly $125-195 million and grossed approximately $410 million at the box office. Unfortunately, it failed to satisfy spectators and critics, and director Alex Kurtzman describes it as “perhaps the worst disaster of [his] life.” In actuality, it was nominated for worst film, worst director, worst actor, worst supporting actor, worst supporting actress, worst script, and many more categories at the 2018 Golden Raspberry Awards, where it won for worst actor.

Some media sources suggested that Tom Cruise was intimately involved in producing The Mummy and had major creative input over the final movie, as reported by fandomwire. Yet, not everyone feels that Cruise’s presence was an issue, including director Alex Kurtzman. The filmmaker lauded Cruise in an interview with The Playlist’s Bingeworthy programme.

Talking about Cruise and his involvement in the making of The Mummy, director Alex Kurtzman said, “This is very much a film of two halves: before Tom and after Tom. I have heard the stories about how he drives everything and pushes and pushes, but it was amazing to work with him. The guy is a great filmmaker and knows his craft. He will walk onto a set and tell the director what to do, say ‘that’s not the right lens,’ ask about the sets, and as long as you don’t fluff what you’re saying to him … he’s easy to work for.”

The Mummy was directed by Alex Kurtzman and written by Jon Spaihts and Christopher McQuarrie. It was released in 2017. It stars Tom Cruise as Nick Morton, a soldier who unearths the tomb of an ancient Egyptian princess, Sofia Boutella. The film was designed to create the Dark Universe and determine the tone and look for future Universal films. Instead, it was panned for being a dull and uninspired action film that fell short of its promise of being a horror-themed monster thriller.

Tom Cruise remains estranged as Suri applies to schools

Tom Cruise
  • Tom Cruise has not seen his daughter in a very long time.
  • Holmes and Cruise welcomed Suri in April 2006.
  • He has been separated from Suri since 2013.

Suri Cruise, the child he shares with his ex-wife Katie Holmes, and Tom Cruise, remains distant.

According to a source who spoke directly to Page Six, the 60-year-old Mission: Impossible actor has not seen his daughter, 16, in a very long time and is no longer involved in her life.

Holmes and Cruise welcomed Suri in April 2006, but the former couple divorced in 2011 and the father-daughter pair ultimately grew estranged. One year after his divorce from Katie, the Top Gun: Maverick actor has been separated from Suri since 2013.

Suri, who turns 17 next month, “has sent some applications out” for colleges and is “leaning towards” pursuing fashion in New York City, according to a source close to Katie, 44, who spoke directly to DailyMail.

“Suri is submitting applications to numerous institutions. In order for them to be near one another, [Katie] genuinely wants her to remain in New York. The insider said that Katie is “overwhelmed” by the thought of her daughter leaving for college and that she takes great pleasure in her but is also very overly protective.

The Hollywood star acknowledged in court documents from his 2012 defamation case against Bauer Media that he had not seen Suri for three months after he and Holmes, now 44, split up, despite not having any involvement in the daughter’s milestone.

Cruise previously admitted that his affiliation with Scientology had been a key factor in the reason he was split from his child.

Because of the controversial church’s rules that prohibit members from associating with non-believers, Tom and Suri were once again blamed for remaining apart in 2016.

Tom allegedly couldn’t be friends with Holmes or Suri because they were both Scientologists. At the time, a source told the publication, “This is his loss, his problem. He must have been thoroughly indoctrinated.

Tom Cruise chose to spend the evening in an igloo rather than attend the 95th Academy Awards.

The actor’s hit film ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ was nominated for a Best Picture award at the ceremony, but he was nowhere to be found, according to reports.

Tom Cruise is said to have “known” the film would miss out on the Oscar and so decided to “get on with doing what he does best”. According to a source, the 60-year-old Hollywood legend flew to Svalbard, 500 miles south of the North Pole, to film scenes for the eighth installment of ‘Mission Impossible.’

Tom Cruise once rejected ‘Iron Man’

Tom Cruise
  • Tom Cruise once revealed in an interview that he is open to playing a superhero.
  • Tom Cruise is a Hollywood A-lister known for his acting abilities.
  • He was first approached about becoming Marvel’s Iron Man.

Tom Cruise once revealed in an interview that he is open to playing a superhero after turning down Iron Man’s offer.

Tom Cruise is a Hollywood A-lister known for his acting abilities, action-packed dramas, and daredevil attitude. However, did you know he was first approached about becoming Marvel’s Iron Man, but he declined? Yes, that’s correct, and after that, Robert Downey Jr. took over the role, and the rest is history. But, now that he’s in a much better place in his career, does Tom want to play a superhero?

At the time Tom was offered the role of Iron Man, the Marvel universe had yet to establish itself in the superhero film world. However, the first Iron Man film generated a lot of buzz and grossed $585 million. The following two films in the trilogy earned $629 million and $1.2 billion, respectively.

When Tom Cruise was asked in a 2018 throwback interview with Phase Zero, whether he would like to play a superhero’s character in future, the Top Gun: Maverick actor had replied, “I look at a movie and think, you know, I don’t rule anything out, it’s what’s the story? What’s the character? Does it interest me? Do I feel this is what an audience would like to see me in? What can I learn? What can I contribute? That’s really how I look at things.”

When asked about Robert Downey Jr. reprising Iron Man’s role, which he was first offered, Tom Cruise expressed his admiration for RDJ, saying “I love Robert Downey Jr. I can’t imagine anyone else playing this role and I think it’s perfect for him.”

In an earlier interview , Tom Cruise had opened up about why he had turned down the role. He had revealed, “[Marvel Studios] came to me at a certain time and, when I do something, I wanna do it right. If I commit to something, it has to be done in a way that I know it’s gonna be something special. And as it was lining up, it just didn’t feel to me like it was gonna work. I need to be able to make decisions and make the film as great as it can be, it just didn’t go down that road that way.”

Ram Charan said he’s ‘very excited’ to watch Cate Blanchett and Tom Cruise at the Oscars

Ram
  • Ram Charan wants to meet Tom Cruise and Cate Blanchett at the Oscars 2023.
  • His song Naatu Naatu has become an international phenomenon.
  • Ram Charan has been giving a series of interviews ahead of the Academy Awards.

In a promotional interview, actor Ram Charan, who is preparing to make a major splash at the Oscars in 2023, spoke candidly about meeting some Hollywood icons who inspired him as a young fan. At the ceremony, he expressed a desire to meet Tom Cruise and Cate Blanchett. Prior to the Academy Awards, Ram Charan has given a number of interviews over the past several weeks.
The film RRR, which was directed by SS Rajamouli, contains the song Naatu Naatu, which has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song. Naatu Naatu has gained international acclaim. The Telugu movie song was penned by Chandrabose and composed by MM Keeravani. The dance song was sung by Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj.

Ram Charan was questioned about his readiness for the Oscars during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. I doubt I’ll ever be prepared for the Oscars. I’m both anxious and eager. I’m not sure if I’ll enter the red carpet as an actor or a fanboy. everyone I’ve watched since I was a child. I won’t mention them, but I’m looking forward to seeing Cate Blanchett and Tom Cruise at this year’s Oscars. I’ve been watching him since Top Gun, and I think he’s amazing,” Ram remarked.

Ram Charan recently discussed the success of RRR and how the song Naatu Naatu grew to be a well-known music around the world in an interview with ABC News Live. If Naatu Naatu wins an Oscar, Ram Charan stated he wouldn’t believe it when asked how he would feel specifically. They need to wake me up and tell me to go get it. Push me onto the stage. I’ll be the most content. It won’t be our success, in my opinion; it will be the success of the Indian film industry. No one of us can claim ownership.

RRR, a fictional drama set in the 1920s before independence, was released in theaters in March of last year. It is based on the lives of two genuine heroes and well-known revolutionaries. The actor Jr. NTR is also present in the country and will likely take part in a few promotional interviews. Because he was grieving the sudden passing of his cousin, Nandamuri Taraka Ratna, he was unable to travel to the States earlier.
