Salman Safdar, representing the PTI founder, contended that the court had previously stated that the call-up notices in the case were unclear.

IHC orders transfer of Bushra Bibi from Banigala to Adiala Jail

IHC

ISLAMABAD:The Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered to transfer founder chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi Bani from Bani Gala sub jail to the Adiala Jail.

The court invalidated the government’s notification declaring Bushra Bibi’s residence Bani Gala as a sub-jail as illegal and issued an order to transfer Bushra Bibi from Bani Gala Sub Jail to Adiala Jail.

In the court, the prison authorities had taken a stand to declare Bushra Bibi’s residence as a sub-jail due to lack of capacity in the prison and security issues.

It should be noted that the Islamabad High Court, after hearing the arguments of the parties, had reserved its decision on Bushra Bibi’s request last week.

Earlier, Bushra Bibi had challenged the authorities’ move to imprison her at Bani Gala to serve a 14-year sentence in the case.

In the petition, Khan’s wife maintained that like other political workers of the party, she was ready and willing to serve her sentence in the “Ordinary Jail Premises at Adiala Jail, rather than the declared sub-jail at her residence”.
