RAWALPINDI: Anti-Terrorism Court acquitted former first lady and wife of PTI Founder Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi in 12 cases of May 9 mayhem, here on Tuesday.
This was stated by the lawyer of Bushra Bibi, Barrister Salman Safdar while talking to news persons outside the Adiala Jail.
He said that the anti-terrorism court conducted the hearing of 12 case of May 9 registered against Bushra Bibi, who was nominated in the cases in light of her different statements.
He said that these statements had no legal status, adding that the court heard arguments in details and rejected the request of Rawalpindi for physical remand.
He further said that Bushra Bibi was discharged and acquitted in all cases. The prosecutor informed the court that her client was involved in these cases, he said.
The court had turned down the arguments of the prosecutor, he said, adding that both sides presented their arguments in detail.
The court of law declared that the statements of the accused had no legal status.
The court asked the prosecutor why the government had remained silent so far it had been one year and three months since May 9.
The barrister said that the PTI Founder Imran Khan was acquitted in all case including cypher case but he was not being released.
