Sima Taparia cracks jokes during her cameo on Netflix’s Wonderful Lives of Bollywood Wives last year. The well-known matchmaker from Mumbai made an appearance in one of the episodes as she tried to find a compatible match for Seema Sajdeh (previously known as Seema Khan), who appears on the show along with Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, and Bhavana Pandey. Seema Sajdeh is a former contestant named Seema Khan. After posting pictures of herself and Sima to Instagram, Seema captioned the post, “When we agree to disagree.”

Sima addressed the criticism that her Netflix series Indian Matchmaking had received during its final two seasons in an interview from last year. Amanda Batula ‘Wants to Know’ She Can’t Have Children with Kyle Cooke

Amanda Batula is sceptical that she and husband Kyle Cooke will be able to conceive.

On Monday’s episode of a show, the ladies hosted a tea party for themselves, during which Amanda revealed her fertility concerns.

When the subject of children came up during a game, newcomer Samantha Feher pointed out that Amanda was most likely to be the first to become pregnant because she is the only married woman among the four.

Speaking for herself and Kyle, 40, Amanda told the group, “We want to have kids. It’s just not in the cards right now.”

“Some of you know, I went off birth control right after the wedding. I’ve been dying to go off birth control,” she continued. “And then in November was my last period.”

“Are you concerned you’re not getting your period?” Paige DeSorbo asked, while Ciara Miller wondered if Amanda has seen an OB-GYN.

“That’s what the next move is,” said Amanda, 31. “I’m actually kind of nervous to go. It could just be something as an easy fix, but there’s a little bit of a ‘I don’t want to know.'”

Ciara, 27, wasn’t happy with that response, telling her friend: “I don’t love that. You need to go next week.”

“I know,” replied Amanda.

“Are you nervous?” asked Paige, 30. “What if the doctor comes back and says, ‘Hey Amanda, we regret to inform you that you cannot have kids.’ Have you thought about that?”

“You grow up and you just think that you just get married and get pregnant and have kids and everything goes right,” said Amanda.

Samantha added, “We’re also trained to think that it’s easy to have kids.”

Amanda continued, “I just never thought I’d be in this situation where there’s a chance that it’s not just gonna happen, like immediately and naturally and like, ‘Oopsie.'”

Amanda later shared in a confessional interview: “I haven’t talked to Kyle about the fertility. I don’t love telling people things that might cause them fear or concern without having the answers, and I know I have to see a doctor, but maybe I’m not ready to know what’s going on. So, we’ll just see.”

Danielle Olivera then reassured her, “Good news, ad news, whatever happens, you are more than bringing a child to this world. If the news is no, you have a whole team.”

Amanda first mentioned her infertility concerns during a show. Ciara and Paige encouraged her to bring up the subject again during this season of a show.

“I keep a lot of things to myself, but I have two really good friends that pushed me to look into things more and talk about it and open up more,” Amanda explained. “It’s a lot more common to be going through than people realize. It’s something I’m happy to talk about and it’s good for other people to hear about.”

Amanda also told in May 2021 that she and Kyle planned to have children after becoming foster parents to their two puppies and marrying in September 2021.

“It’s really cute to see him with the puppies and fosters, and how much he does care for them,” Amanda said of the beverage brand Loverboy founder. “If anything, I’m even more excited to start a family. I’ve always been ready, but it’s just really sweet to see him with them.”

Unlike her costar Lindsay Hubbard who showed up to season 5 with a timeline for when she wanted to get married and start a family Amanda doesn’t consider herself “a planner at all.”

“With family and a future, I’m kind of always ready,” she said. “I never really have set plans.”

US envoy says, China should be honest on Covid origin

The United States ambassador to China has urged the country to be “more honest” about the origins of the Covid-19 virus.

His remarks came a day after US media reported that a federal agency had determined that the epidemic was most likely caused by a laboratory leak in Wuhan.

China’s foreign ministry blasted back saying the global outbreak’s genesis “was about science and should not be politicized”.

Since the US shot down an alleged Chinese spy balloon earlier this month, relations between Washington and Beijing have been strained.

Ambassador Nicholas Burns told a US Chamber of Commerce event on Monday that China needs to “be more honest about what happened three years ago in Wuhan with the origin of the Covid-19 crisis”.

Low confidence

The US Department of Energy decided in a classified intelligence analysis with “low confidence” that the virus was accidentally leaked by a laboratory.

The energy department previously stated that it was unsure how the infection arose.

Different US government agencies have reached different conclusions, with varied degrees of certainty in their results. In 2021, the FBI found with “moderate confidence” that the virus escaped from a lab.

Additional research indicates that it transitioned from animals to humans at Wuhan’s Huanan seafood and wildlife market.

Once it was revealed that the US energy department had settled on the lab leak explanation, Republican Senator Tom Cotton tweeted “being proven right doesn’t matter”.

“What matters is holding the Chinese Communist Party accountable so this doesn’t happen again.”

Massachusetts Democratic Congressman Seth Moulton told he was “not entirely surprised” by the energy department’s reported conclusion.

“The Chinese have mishandled Covid at every step of the way, [and] are trying to sweep it under the rug,” he said.

More than 100 feared dead after Italy migrant boat shipwreck

There are worries that more than 100 people, including children, perished when their boat capsized off the coast of southern Italy.

At least 63 migrants have been confirmed dead, with 12 children, including a baby, among the dead.

On Sunday, the vessel, which was carrying approximately 200 people, broke apart while attempting to land in Crotone.

Giorgia Meloni, Italy’s Prime Minister, has urged EU institutions to take action to curb illegal migrant boat trips.

People from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, Iraq, and Iran were claimed to be on board the boat, which had left Turkey a few days before.

Corpses were discovered on a beach near a coastal resort in the Calabria region.

The coastguard said 80 people had been found alive, “including some who managed to reach the shore after the sinking”, meaning many more remained unaccounted for.

Customs officers reported one survivor was arrested on migrant trafficking allegations.

Two dozen Pakistanis lost their lives

Many of those on board were believed to be Pakistanis. Its Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, stated on Monday that more than two dozen Pakistanis were among the deceased.

As relief and relocation efforts continue, a group of survivors of the fatal shipwreck is struggling to cope with the death of their loved ones.

Some of them were crying without speaking at a temporary welcome center in the town of Isola di Capo Rizzuto, while others were covered in blankets and stared into the void.

“They are heavily traumatized,” said Sergio Di Dato, from the charity Médecins Sans Frontières. “Some children have lost their whole family. We are offering them all the support we can.”

A 16-year-old Afghan kid lost his 28-year-old sister, who perished on the beach beside him. He couldn’t have the courage to tell his parents.

A 43-year-old Afghan man and his 14-year-old son survived, but his wife and three other children, ages 13, nine, and five, did not. Another Afghan widow in tears refused to leave the beach following the death of her husband.

“This is yet another tragedy happening near our shores. It reminds us all that the Mediterranean is a giant mass grave, with tens of thousands of souls in it, and it continues to widen,” said Francesco Creazzo, from SOS Méditerranée, a non-governmental organization engaged in rescue operations in the central Mediterranean.

“There is no end in sight; in 2013, people said ‘never again’ to the little white coffins of Lampedusa, in 2015, they said ‘never again’ in front of the lifeless body of a two-year-old Syrian child on a beach.

“Now the words ‘never again’ are not even pronounced anymore. We only hear ‘no more departures’, but unfortunately people keep venturing on this journey and they keep dying,” he added.

Rampage against Palestinians after gunman kills Israeli-American

As retaliatory violence escalates, an Israeli-American has been shot and murdered in the occupied West Bank.

The victim was killed during an automobile attack on a highway near Jericho.

The shooting occurred after Israeli settlers raided Palestinian towns in the West Bank on Sunday night, resulting in the destruction of hundreds of cars and residences.

That attack came after a Palestinian shot dead two settlers from an adjacent community on Sunday.

The Israeli-American man slain near Jericho was brought to a hospital in Jerusalem by paramedics, but he was subsequently pronounced dead.

US Ambassador Tom Nides tweeted: “Sadly, I can confirm that a US citizen was killed in one of the terror attacks in the West Bank tonight. I pray for his family.”

According to the Israeli Defense Forces, assailants opened fire on Israeli vehicles three times before setting fire to their own vehicles.

The attackers exchanged fire with police before fleeing, according to the IDF.

No Palestinian organizations immediately claimed responsibility.

The Islamic organization Hamas, which governs the Gaza Strip but is less visible in the West Bank, claimed responsibility for the strike, saying it was a logical response to Israeli attacks.

“The crimes conducted by the occupation and the herds of settlers will not be met but with stabbing, shooting, and car-ramming,” a spokesman said in a statement.

During a summit in Jordan, Israeli and Palestinian officials promised to de-escalate tensions.

Videos posted hours after the summit finished on Sunday showed a large throng of Israeli settlers setting fires and throwing stones in the town of Hawara, about 4 miles (6 kilometers) south of Nablus.

Sameh Aqtash, 37, died after being shot in the stomach during a settlers’ attack in Zaatara on Sunday night, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

This area of the West Bank is completely under Israeli authority, and Palestinians have been critical of Israeli security personnel for failing to safeguard them.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said he held the Israeli government totally responsible for what he called “the terrorist crimes carried out by Israeli settlers, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces”.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime Minister, asked for calm and urged settlers to allow the Israeli military and security agencies to focus on finding the gunman who killed the two Israelis.

“I ask that when blood is boiling and the spirit is hot, don’t take the law into your hands,” he said in a video statement.

Settlers had called for a march to Hawara to “seek revenge” for the murderous attack on Hillel and Yagel Yaniv, who lived in Har Bracha, 1.2 miles south of Nablus.

A Palestinian guy struck the brothers’ car and then shot them both many times as they drove through Hawara.

So far, no Palestinian terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the shooting, but the gunman was reportedly wearing a shirt with the logo of the Nablus-based Lions’ Den.

Members of the group were targeted in an Israeli raid in Nablus last Wednesday, which murdered 11 Palestinians, including several civilians – the worst such operation in the West Bank since 2005.

Israeli soldiers have been conducting waves of search, arrest, and intelligence-gathering operations in Nablus and the adjoining city of Jenin, claiming that they are attempting to halt a string of deadly Palestinian attacks against Israelis.

More than 60 Palestinians, both terrorists, and civilians, have been slain by Israeli forces since the beginning of the year. On the Israeli side, 14 individuals have been murdered in attacks, all of whom were civilians with the exception of a paramilitary police officer.

More than 600,000 Jews live in 140 settlements built since Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem in the 1967 Middle East war.

Most of the international community considers the settlements illegal under international law, though Israel disputes this.

According to Yami, the boy’s video was then uploaded online as a vlog and viewed by millions of people.
Many celebrities discussed their comparable experiences with photographers before Yami made her confession. Alia was photographed with a zoom lens from a nearby structure. He was “grateful to each and every person who is heroically holding” the area.
