The FBI searches Biden’s papers at the University of Delaware

FBI
  • FBI performed two searches last month.
  • On two separate days, investigators retrieved multiple boxes from the campus.
  • Mr. Biden and his team consented to the search, thus no warrant was required.

The FBI performed two searches at the University of Delaware in the last month to see if US President Joe Biden contributed any potentially secret materials.

On two separate days, investigators retrieved multiple boxes from the campus.

Mr. Biden’s alma mater houses thousands of cartons of documents from his service in the Senate.

Donald Trump is under criminal investigation for his handling of secret data.

Documents marked classified have been discovered in recent months at Mr. Biden’s Delaware home and offices in Washington, DC. During a search of his private property in Wilmington last month, the FBI discovered some of the data.

According to sources familiar with the inquiry, the searches at the University of Delaware took place around the end of January and the beginning of February.

The discovered documents did not appear to have classified markings, but the FBI is now evaluating the files.

No warrant was required

US president and his team consented to the search, thus no warrant was required.

Mr. Biden gave the college 1,850 boxes of information in 2012, but those files have not been made public since then.

Mr. Biden’s personal attorney, the US Department of Justice, and the University of Delaware have yet to respond.

The Justice Department has chosen Robert Hur as special counsel to conduct the inquiry into how Mr. Biden handled sensitive data.

The residence of former US Vice-President Mike Pence was also inspected last week after his aides revealed that they had discovered secret materials during their own search.

Former President Trump is facing a separate inquiry after FBI officers executing a search warrant at his Florida Mar-a-Lago home last year discovered hundreds of files with secret markings.

Bushra Ansari opens up about slapping Yumna zaidi in ‘Tere Bin’

Bushra Ansari
  • Bushra Ansari has extensive experience in the industry.
  • Bushra Ansari recently played Maa Begum in the drama Tere Bin.
  • She opened up about slapping Meerab in the drama Tere Bin.

Bushra Ansari has extensive experience in the industry. She has lived through the golden age, the period of fall when our dramas were not performing well before they started to rise once more, and the current period, in which production values are increasing but screenplay quality is in doubt. She has experienced everything and still holds a respected position in the field.

Bushra Ansari recently played Maa Begum, a character with a powerful aura, in the wildly popular Tere Bin. Her altercation with our leading lady Meerab is giving Tere Bin the necessary spice for the drama, and she is portraying the role flawlessly as usual.

However, Bushra herself does not feel comfortable slapping on camera. After she smacked Yumna Zaidi in Tere Bin, her interaction with her did become a topic of conversation. According to Bushra, she finds it difficult to slap someone and always attempts to shift the situation by either pushing the person away or doing something else. She also mentioned that one thing she wished Maa Begum would stop doing was slapping people around in the show. Bushra emphasised her inability to smack people one more time.

Bushra also explained why Meerab received a slap from Maa Begu at her reception as she danced. She stated that some customs should be kept, adding that she still prefers simplicity during mehendi and mayoun ceremonies and isn’t really a fan of brides dancing at weddings.

Israel approves legislation to strip the citizenship of Israeli Arab attackers

Israel
  • Palestinian residents of occupied East Jerusalem will lose their residency status.
  • An overwhelming majority of MPs supported the bill.
  • Critics claim it is racist and violates international law.

Israel has passed legislation that will strip the citizenship of Israeli Arabs convicted of terrorism and receive financial assistance from the Palestinian Authority (PA).

It is also possible that Palestinian residents of occupied East Jerusalem will lose their residency status.

An overwhelming majority of MPs supported the bill, claiming that individuals impacted had betrayed the Israeli state.

Critics claim it is racist and violates international law by depriving people of their citizenship.

The PA’s monthly stipends for Palestinian prisoners who have carried out attacks on Israelis or their families have long been a source of contention.

Israel describes them as a “pay for slay” policy that encourages violence.

It has already acted to freeze bank accounts or seize assets of persons with Israeli citizenship or Jerusalem residence rights who it suspected of receiving financial assistance.

Many Palestinians regard the detainees in Israeli jails as nationalist heroes, and the PA regards the funds provided to them as social welfare.

It was argued in parliament that the new legislation might affect hundreds of convicts.

They could be deported to PA-controlled areas of the occupied West Bank or the Gaza Strip in the end.

After months of growing fatal violence, including Israeli operations on militants in the West Bank and Palestinian street attacks on Israelis, the measure had widespread support in Israel’s parliament.

It was passed by 94 votes to 10, despite severe political divisions, with members of the hard-right government coalition and opposition parties voting in favor.

Ofir Katz, a member of the prime minister’s Likud party in Israel, who headed the joint group that produced the plan, thought it would bring solace to bereaved families.

“I hope that this step we are taking today is the dawn of a new era. I know and feel from the bottom of my heart that such laws are our true mission as elected officials,” he said.

“I say unequivocally, a terrorist who receives money from the Palestinian Authority should fly from here to Gaza, anywhere else.”

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the law as “the ugliest form of racism.”

Opposition MPs said the bill was discriminatory since it did not apply to Jewish Israelis convicted of attacks on Palestinians or other major crimes.

“For example, Yigal Amir murdered a prime minister – not only was his citizenship not revoked but there was also no proposal,” said Ahmed Tibi, referring to the Israeli Jewish extremist who assassinated the former prime minister, Yitzhak Rabin.

Approximately one-fifth of Israelis are Arab citizens who frequently identify as and with Palestinians.

Aditya was tricked into joining the series by The Romantics director Smriti Mundhra

Smriti Mundhra
  • Smriti Mundhra successfully convinced Aditya Chopra to be part of The Romantics.
  • Smriti said that it took a long time to convince Aditya calling the process ‘a slow one’.
  • She was speaking to him on ‘background to get the context on the story’.

The Romantics director Smriti Mundhra explained how she convinced camera-shy producer Aditya Chopra to participate in the Netflix docuseries. In a recent interview, Smriti claimed that convincing Aditya took a lot of time and was “a gradual one.”

Smriti added that she was speaking to him about the “background to obtain the perspective on the story” after beginning the project. In order to comprehend “all of the aspects of the story,” the director added that she needed to be sure she was speaking with the appropriate people.

“I attempted to persuade him that while my crew and I were in Mumbai, we’ll record an interview for his personal archive,” Smriti stated in an interview with DNA India. Of fact, I was sort of acting with a hidden agenda. To that, he consented. I secretly began adding him to the series as we were editing it in the hopes that he would agree when I eventually presented it to him. It was a risk since I had put a lot of work into editing, and I would have had to redo the entire series if he had said no. The expectation was that he would consent once he realized how essential his role was to this narrative.

“Anyone who has worked with Aditya Chopra in any capacity will tell you that he has the uttermost fidelity to the artistic integrity of any production,” she continued. He won’t let the creative integrity of any endeavor be compromised. Therefore, it definitely helped when he realized how crucial it was for him to be a part of this and how empty the series would feel without his perspective.

Smriti claims that “recognizing that we worked so hard to build this memorial to his father, Yash Chopra, where so many people from their hearts about his legacy” was what actually made the biggest impact. Aditya not taking part would be “quite weird,” she continued. According to Smriti, it was because of this “love and respect for his father” that he ultimately decided to join The Romantics.

The Romantics, directed by Smriti, honors Yash Chopra’s history as a director. It includes 35 prominent voices from the Hindi film business and explores Bollywood’s history through the prism of Yash Raj Films’ role in popularizing Bollywood over the past 50 years. The show’s streaming service launched on February 14.
