ISLAMABAD: As many as 31 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan in the last 24 hours while one patient has died.

According to the details, the National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad said 4,890 COVID-19 tests have been conducted during the last 24 hours according to which the rate of positive cases of the coronavirus was 0.63 percent.

However, one patient died due to COVID-19 during the last 24 hours and currently, the condition of nine patients infected with Coronavirus is said to be critical across the country.

On the other hand, several cases of the new variant of Coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan, which is related to different cities in Pakistan.

In this regard, infectious disease experts said that the XBB variant that surfaced in Pakistan is the same case reported in China.

ISLAMABAD: National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad has recorded 17 new cases of COVID-19 during the last 24 hours while no death has occurred due to corona.

According to the details, the NIH report has stated that 4,462 coronavirus tests have been conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, in which 17 new cases of corona have been reported and the rate of positive cases of the Covid is 0.38 percent. . While the condition of 10 patients affected by Coronavirus is said to be critical.

The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has warned that the threat of a new type of coronavirus continues, but the current situation regarding care management, vaccines and treatment is better compared to 2019.

In recent weeks, there have been reports of increased pressure on hospital admissions and health systems, particularly in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere where respiratory diseases, including influenza, are common.

The WHO director said it is important to highlight the importance of vaccines and food to prevent hospitalization, severe illness, and death.

He said that due to the huge population and their movement in China, the cases have increased a lot but they are unable to get comprehensive data.

He said that this data is very useful for WHO and the world. All countries are requested to share this data for a regular, rapid, and robust assessment of the current situation.

ISLAMABAD: National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad has registered 12 new coronavirus cases across the country during the last 24 hours while no death was reported.

Spokesperson NIH said, the condition of 12 patients affected by COVID-19 is critical across the country, but there have been no deaths due to Corona.

According to the report of NIH, 4,056 corona tests have been conducted during the last 24 hours, according to which the rate of positive cases of Corona was 0.30 percent.

Experts said that the new type of corona in China is not so dangerous. A large number of people will be affected by this type, but the risk of death is low, so all people who have received both doses of corona vaccine should receive a booster dose to increase their immunity to fight the virus.

According to the report, the American infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci said that there is no way to eliminate this virus because it spreads rapidly and has the ability to become a new variant.

Coronavirus: 10,000 frontline warriors infected in Pakistan, reports NIH

An excessive number of frontline warriors and para-medical staff got infected due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic across the country, an exhaustive data by the National Institute of Health shared on Wednesday.

Over 10,000 frontline warriors and doctors have tested Coronavirus positive in Pakistan since the global pandemic broke out, the report said, while adding that 100 of them have died due to the infection as well.

The report said a total of 10,464 health workers have so far tested positive out of which 6560 are doctors whose tests detected the viral pathogen.

On the other hand, 1249 nurses and total 2655 of hospital staffers across Pakistan have been plagued with this virus so far according to NIH.

NIH report also recorded the data of complicated cases amongst the health workers citing 594 of the reported cases are still in isolation while 90 of them are receiving medical treatment at present.

Total 9680 have recovered from the virus so far, the all-encompassing report asserted.

The report underscored the fatalities due to Covid-19 in each region as well noting 34 health workers in the Sindh province died due to novel coronavirus followed with 25 fatalities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 14 deaths in Punjab.

Moreover, in Azad Kashmir, 6 frontline warriors succumbed to Covid-19 and in Balochistan province, the mortality number stood at 8, while Islamabad Capital Territory noted 10 health workers fall. Three health warriors in Gilgit-Baltistan region passed away because of the deadly virus.
