Motorway Rape Case: Punjab Police Rewards Personnel For Arresting Suspects

On Tuesday, the Punjab police distributed cash awards among the police personnel who apprehended the accused in the Lahore motorway rape case.

According to the detail, Punjab’s Inspector General (IG) Inam Ghani distributed Rs2.5 million and appreciation certificates among 40 officers and personnel who played a huge part in solving the case actively.

The IG Punjab said that the case was challenging but the law enforcers worked hard and served their duties with dedication.

Cricket Committee Recommends Misbah-ul-Haq, Waqar Younis’s Retention

The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Cricket Committee has expressed its dissatisfaction over the national team’s performance against New Zealand, however, it recommended the retention of head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis.

According to the details, the coaches were bashed miserably after Pakistan showed its poor performance against the black caps, Shaheens only won one out of three T20Is, and lost all matches of the Test series.

Two Gorillas At San Diego Zoo Contracted COVID-19

The coronavirus pandemic has affected every country around the world and the United States of America is one of the most affected countries affected by the novel virus.

There is no one safe from the deadly virus neither humans nor animals.

According to the details, two gorillas at the San Diego Zoo have been tested COVID-19 positive.

The US publication reported that apart from two affected gorillas, another gorilla has shown symptoms of the deadly virus causing an alarming situation in the country.

“Our beloved gorillas, obviously, we are concerned about,” said Governor California Gavin Newsome.

“The gorillas live as a family, so it is assumed that all members have been exposed,” zoo officials told an international news publication.

As per the details, the gorillas were showing symptoms from last week after which their COVID-19 test was conducted.

The test was carried out by the US Department of Agriculture’s National Veterinary Services Laboratory confirmed that the gorillas were indeed positive on Monday.

“It is unknown whether the gorillas will have any serious reaction but they are being closely monitored,” said the zoo authorities.

Earlier in April 2020, seven tigers contacted the novel virus at New York’s Bronx Zoo.

Wildlife Conservation Society announced that after the tiger tested positive in April 2020, seven more big cats have coronavirus at New York’s Bronx Zoo.

The nonprofit zoo said three tigers and three African lions began showing symptoms in early April when the zoo announced a 4-year-old Malayan tiger named Nadia tested positive.

BTS Wins ‘Album of The Year’ At Golden Disc Awards

BTS adds another achievement feather in its cap as the South-Korean pop band won the “Album Of The Year’ award at the prestigious Gold Disc Awards for the fourth consecutive year.

During their acceptance speech, BTS explained that,

“The seven of us have gathered for this big awards ceremony, so let’s do a proper greeting. ARMY, you’re watching, right? Once again, we have started off the new year with such a big award at this amazing ceremony. I’m happiest that we could receive this award with Suga by our side.”

“The flats are spread on the 14th, 15th, and 16th floor of the building named Araya Building. The carpet area of the flat as per the documents accessed by SquareFeatIndia is 3,456 area,” reports the local media.

England Introduces New Pre-Departure Testing Rule For Travelers

Travelers to England from abroad will have to show that they were tested negative for coronavirus up to three days before their departure from 0400 GMT on Jan. 15.

According to the details, the new rule was announced earlier in January as the authorities are trying to stop the spread of the new, more dangerous strains of COVID-19 from other countries.

Due to lockdowns, travel into and out of Britain is at very low levels.

The government said as it provided details of new policy that the transport operators would need to check if the passengers were tested negative before the boared their flight, train or ferry. On the other hand, there would also be checks on arrival.

Passengers and transport operators who do not comply with the new rules will have to pay fines starting from 500 pounds ($677.40).

There will be a very restricted number of exemptions, including hauliers, to allow the free flow of freight, and air, international rail and maritime crew.

According to the government’s startement, the COVID-19 test must be of a diagnostic-standard test such as a PCR test, and could in some cases include LAMP and lateral flow tests within set limits.

It is worth mentioning that the new pre-departure test requirement comes to oreder after the quarantine rule which requires passengers from abroad to self-isolate for ten days, unless they decide to have a coronavirus test after five days and test nagative, releasing them early.
