Kuwait Announces 10-Year Jail Term For Those Supporting Israel

Kuwait Israel Support

The Kuwaiti government has announced ten years of prison and a fine of 5000 Dirhams to those who support Israel amidst the brutal violence against the Palestinians.

According to the details, the globally acclaimed Investment Banker Mir Mohammad Alikhan shared the news via his Twitter saying: “My Salute to Kuwaiti Government: Kuwait announces a law where anyone supporting Israel in real life or the social media from within Kuwait will be imprisoned for 10 years and a fine of KD 5000.”

“As harsh it may sound PM @ImranKhanPTI you need to do this as well,” he suggested.

Earlier, the Kuwaiti prime minister had reaffirmed his country’s firm position in supporting the choices of the Palestinian civilians to achieve their legitimate rights.

“The Palestinian cause still occupies a central historical and pivotal position in Arab and Islamic worlds,” Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah told the 75th session of the UN General Assembly via video link.

Note that the first Israeli attack on media offices took place on May 12, when the 10-storey Al-Jawahar Tower in Gaza City was destroyed, according to an RSF report.

The next day, Israel demolished the Al-Shorouk Tower in Gaza City, a 14-story building that housed the offices of seven media outlets, including Al-Aqsa and TV.

It should be noted that on May 15, Israel targeted a multi-storey building in Gaza, where the offices of Al Jazeera and other international media, including the American news agency Associated Press (AP), were also destroyed.

According to foreign news agencies, the owner of Al-Jala Tower had already warned the media about the Israeli attack and the building had been evacuated.

The Israeli military operation was called a war crime by journalists around the world.

The destroyed building also housed the office of the Middle East Eye, which reported in a video that the owner of the building was talking to an Israeli army officer live on TV and told reporters to remove his belongings from the building before the bombing.

Joe Biden Netanyahu phone call

The United States (US) President Joe Biden has spoken to the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu as the violence in Palestine escalated after pressure mounts on the U.S. to call for a cease-fire.

Joe Biden said that he would have more to say about the unfolding violence after speaking with Netanyahu.

On Sunday, a group of 28 Democratic senators called for an immediate stop to the ongoing fight between Israel and Hamas.

Moreover, Netanyahu, after his call with Biden, suggested that Israel’s operation will continue until it achieves its goals.

“Our aim is to send Hamas a message that it’s not worth sending rockets next time they want,” he said. “We will deal with them and no one should take the law into their own hands.”

He had also condemned attacks in towns and cities in Israel.

“The President noted that this current period of conflict has tragically claimed the lives of Israeli and Palestinian civilians, including children,” the readout said.

“He raised concerns about the safety and security of journalists and reinforced the need to ensure their protection.”

Netanyahu told Biden that Israel “is doing everything to avoid harming”.

The president also spoke with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas about tensions in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

“The President also underscored his strong commitment to a negotiated two-state solution as the best path to reach a just and lasting resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” according to a readout from that call.

According to media reports, the Saudi FM also emphasised the need to stop Israel’s actions that violate international laws.

Prince Faisal also called for “complete efforts” aimed at finding a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian conflict.

He further added that the state would have East Jerusalem as its capital, “in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative,” reports added.

Earlier, during a phone call with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud had expressed “Pakistan’s serious concerns” on the “grave situation” in Palestine.

“FM Qureshi expressed Pakistan’s serious concerns on the storming of the Al Aqsa Mosque and grave human rights violations.

President Alvi Terms Israeli Bombardment Against Palestine a “One-sided murderous assault”

President Israeli Bombardment

President Dr Arif Alvi has on Saturday expressed extreme displeasure over the ongoing brutal situation in Palestine as Israeli airstrikes continue to intensify claiming more than 100 Palestinian lives.

In a tweet today, President Alvi termed the ongoing atrocities by Israel against Palestine a mere “murderous assault”.

“Bad headline. Israel pounds Gaza as deadly conflict intensifies” This is NOT a conflict Sir! This is a one-sided brutal, murderous assault. A massacre of people who are fighting to live on THEIR land stolen from them. A free Palestine shall emerge,” he wrote.

On Friday, Israel continued to bombard the Gaza Strip with airstrikes and shells, shutting eyes to international condemnation, killing more than 100 people.

According to the media reports, the latest fatalities bring to 113 the official death toll, including at least 31 children.

Residents of northern Gaza, near the Israeli frontier, said they had seen no sign of Israeli ground forces inside the enclave but reported heavy artillery fire and dozens of airstrikes.

Israeli security forces have also been scrambled to contain deadly riots between Jews and Arabs, and projectiles have been fired from Lebanon.

Images early Friday showed large balls of flame turning the night sky orange in densely packed Gaza, while rockets were seen tracing through the air towards Israel.

Videos doing rounds on social media also showed several alleged Israeli settlers attacking Palestinian homes in the city of Hebron in the West Bank early on Friday.

The United Nations said the Security Council would meet on Sunday to address the conflict as the world body’s Secretary-General called for “an immediate de-escalation and cessation of hostilities”. “Too many innocent civilians have already died,” Antonio Guterres tweeted.

“This conflict can only increase radicalization and extremism in the whole region.”

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a statement on Friday said the Israeli military operation against Palestinian militants in Gaza would continue for as long as necessary. He said Hamas, the Islamist group that rules Gaza, would pay a heavy price.

Moreover, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Washington was “deeply concerned about the violence in the streets of Israel”, and the State Department urged citizens to “reconsider travel to Israel”.

Meanwhile, several international airlines — including KLM, British Airways, Virgin, Lufthansa, and Iberia — canceled flights amid the aerial onslaught.

The heavy bombardments coincided with the start of Eid Al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, and saw the faithful pray at mosques and amid the rubble of Gaza’s collapsed buildings.

Israel’s air force launched multiple airstrikes, targeting locations linked to Hamas, with the air force saying jets had struck a “military compound” of the group’s “intelligence headquarters”.
