“Imran Khan not prepared to run a govt.”: Maryam Nawaz at workers convention

Maryam Nawaz

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Saturday claimed that the country had made progress only during the tenure of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Addressing a PML-N’s workers convention in Sukkur, Maryam Nawaz appreciated the masses for “promoting Nawaz Sharif’s ideology.”

She maintained that the PML-N supremo will return homeland soon and the country’s journey towards progress and prosperity will be resumed.

PML-N Vice President said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s “the only qualification is taabedaari“.

“Imran Khan has only one qualification, which is to polish boots. He is only qualified for taabedaari,” she said.

“PML-N would always side with the government, but this time, our workers refused to bow down in front of oppression,” said Maryam.

She claimed that if there is one name that rings out when it comes to Pakistan’s development it is Nawaz Sharif’s.

Maryam said that the country, in the hands of the incumbent government, “now that Nawaz Sharif is not in power”, is mired in poverty, inflation and unemployment and “the people are searching for Nawaz Sharif”.

“InshaAllah your Nawaz Sharif will come before you all and Pakistan’s journey towards progress will resume where it left off.”

She said that the “fake change” mantra and the “so-called tsunami” will now turn to “badnaami”.

Shafqat Mahmood wants to reopen schools as soon as possible

O, A, AS level Shafqat Mahmood

Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has said that he would like to reopen all educational institutions from the coming month as he is much concerned about the loss of studies, especially at the primary level.

In a tweet on Friday night, Shafqat Mahmood said that the final decision regarding schools opening will be made on health grounds. Students well being comes first.

He, in another tweet, informed that the Inter-provincial Education Ministers conference will take place on Jan 4, 2021. Among other agenda points, the most important would be an analysis of the health situation to determine the re-opening of educational institutions.

Earlier, the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) had earlier decided to shut all schools, colleges, and universities from November 26 and announced that a review meeting will held in the first week of January.

“The IPEMC would meet on January 4 to review the pandemic situation in the country and make a decision about reopening of educational institutions,” the minister said.

Saeed Ghani had on Wednesday said that after evaluating the coronavirus situation, it did not seem possible that educational institutions would reopen in January 2021.
