Maryam Nawaz slams Firdous Ashiq Awan over Sialkot Incident

The Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz Sharif has asked Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan to seek an apology from Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sialkot Sonia Sadaf over impolite behavior.

According to the details, Maryam Nawaz in her tweet while condemning the incident said in her tweet that, civil servants and bureaucrats reach on these posts by hard work and passing competitive exams, they are not selected.

Maryam Nawaz said, ‘Being a minister does not mean that you have a license to humiliate officers.’

Let it be known that in a video making rounds on the internet, Dr. Awan, upon seeing substandard food items being sold at one of the stalls, demanded the Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sialkot Sonia Sadaf to provide an explanation.

The latter, however, started arguing with the chief minister’s aide. Upon hearing her arguments, Dr Firdous lost her cool and started angrily censuring the AC for her comments and negligence.

In the video, Dr. Awan could be heard saying that she had visited the Ramadan Bazaar in every city of the province and found the situation in Sialkot to be the worst.

Upon being rebuked by the chief minister’s aide, Sonia Sadaf could be seen angrily leaving the bazaar.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that NA-249 is the voice of the people of Karachi.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz tweeted,

“NA 249 The voice of the people of Karachi. Right now they have a government and they are not able to campaign and are calling the people ignorant. Imagine the time when they will face the people without a government.”

In another tweet, Maryam Nawaz wrote,

“Today, Judge Faiz Isa is a lesson for all in the decision of the case. Whoever stands up for truth and truth and refuses to be afraid, victory belongs to him in any case. Oppressors and tyrants retreat. This bravery is a beacon for all of us and the bright future of Pakistan also depends on truth-telling and courage.”

It should be mentioned here that on Friday, the Pakistan Election Commission had told the Sindh government that a by-election in Karachi’s NA-249 constituency will be held on April 29.

According to reports, the ECP had agreed to hold NA-249 by-elections on time.

The ECP had directed that coronavirus SOPs be strictly followed during by-polls in NA-249.  Special staff will also be deployed for the implementation of coronavirus SOPs.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Saturday claimed that the country had made progress only during the tenure of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Addressing a PML-N’s workers convention in Sukkur, Maryam Nawaz appreciated the masses for “promoting Nawaz Sharif’s ideology.”

She maintained that the PML-N supremo will return homeland soon and the country’s journey towards progress and prosperity will be resumed.

PML-N Vice President said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s “the only qualification is taabedaari“.

“Imran Khan has only one qualification, which is to polish boots. He is only qualified for taabedaari,” she said.

“PML-N would always side with the government, but this time, our workers refused to bow down in front of oppression,” said Maryam.

She claimed that if there is one name that rings out when it comes to Pakistan’s development it is Nawaz Sharif’s.

Maryam said that the country, in the hands of the incumbent government, “now that Nawaz Sharif is not in power”, is mired in poverty, inflation and unemployment and “the people are searching for Nawaz Sharif”.

“InshaAllah your Nawaz Sharif will come before you all and Pakistan’s journey towards progress will resume where it left off.”

She said that the “fake change” mantra and the “so-called tsunami” will now turn to “badnaami”.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President, Maryam Nawaz has on Friday said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) would not enter into any kind of negotiations with the government amid calls for dialogue.

Taking to Twitter, Maryam said that the PML-N leadership backs PDM’s decision to avoid holding talks with the government, adding that “mini or grand dialogues hold no importance”.

“We will not give an NRO to this fake and puppet government, this is the nation’s decision,” she added.

On the other hand, Maryam Nawaz will reach Sukkur via motorway tomorrow, where she is set to meet her party workers and provincial leadership.

Maryam would address a workers convention in Sukkur at 6pm tomorrow and will also hold meetings with party leaders in the city.

On December 27, she will visit Larkana to attend the commemoration event of Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary on the invitation of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto.

While addressing a huge PDM Mardan rally, Maryam Nawaz lashed out at Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying that his government was not qualified to run the country’s affairs.

She said the incumbent PTI government was busy playing musical chairs, adding, they don’t have a qualified team to manage Pakistan’s affairs.

“He [PM Imran Khan] says that he is not afraid of the PDM and will now bow before it,” she said, taunting the prime minister by saying that only the one who stands can take a bow.

“Whether your government is prepared to run the affairs of the country or not, the people of Mardan have decided that they will not rest till you are sent home,” she said.

Further firing taunts at the premier, the PML-N leader added that “He used to say before becoming prime minister that he has a team of 200 professionals. Where is your team now? When you know that you were not qualified to be prime minister, why were you in such a hurry to wear the sherwani?” she asked.

“You were not prepared to run the country but were prepared to rob the country of Rs122bn in the LNG scam,” she said. “You were not prepared to give the youth 10 million jobs but were prepared to give your friends lucrative jobs,” Maryam Nawaz added.

Earlier, the Vice president kept on tweeting the pictures hundreds of supporters, chanting slogans and showering rose petals on her car as she arrived Mardan.

She, in another tweet, exclaimed happiness at supporters of other political parties escorting her vehicle through the crowd.

“Mardan. It is beautiful and heartwarming to see that workers of ANP and JUI-F receive and greet me with same affection as PMLN. Alhamdolillah,” Maryam tweeted.

Maryam Nawaz arrived GB to begin PML-N poll campaign ahead of elections

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz heads off to Gilgit-Baltistan on a seven-day visit to begin the political campaign ahead of November 15 elections.

On early Thursday morning, Maryam Nawaz in her tweet wrote, “Onboard the plane to GB for PMLN election campaign Insha’Allah.” She will land in Skardu and visit Ghawari later today to address a rally.

The VP will address public gatherings in Skardu, Dambodas, Gohkoch, Astor and Kochlas in the next seven days. A rally will be held from Shigar to Skardu on November 6 (tomorrow).

Moreover, A dinner will be hosted for the vice-president, GB president an former chief minister Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman.

During the visit, Maryam will also be briefed on PML-N’s government’s performance in the last five years and informed about development projects in the region.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has already been in Gilgit-Baltistan to run his party’s poll campaign.

Previously, Prime Minister Imran Khan also visited Gilgit-Baltistan where he addressed Azadi Parade on the occasion of the National Day celebrations.

Maryam Nawaz extremely humbled as she cuts cake prior to her birthday onboard

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz celebrated her birthday along with her spouse Captain (R) Safdar and other party workers on her flight from Lahore to Quetta.

Ahead of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Jalsa in Quetta, PML-N spokesperson MarriyumAurangzeb and other party workers, including Azma Bukhari and Mirza Javed also joined their leader in her celebrations.

Maryam cut the cake while others sang a birthday song for her in chorus.

Taking to twitter, the leader expressed how she humbled she felt after receiving the love and affection prior to her birthday.

“Extremely humbled and thankful for the love and affection. Someone brought the cake onboard to celebrate my upcoming birthday. It’s gestures like these that make it all so worthwhile. Alhamdolillah. God bless you all,” Maryam wrote on Twitter.

The PML-N leader was born on October 28, 1973, in Lahore.

Earlier in a day, Maryam Nawaz has departed from Lahore to Quetta ahead of PDM’s third power show at Ayyub Stadium in Quetta.

She said the party supremo, Nawaz Sharif, would address the PDM Quetta Jalsa via video link.

The VP ended the speculations why Nawaz Sharif didn’t appear at the last public meeting held in Karachi and whether he was ready to repeat the same in future.

Speaking about Prime Minister Imran Khan’s claims that he would even visit the United Kingdom to bring back Mian Nawaz, Maryam said the UK government runs on the basis of constitution and law, not by the rhetoric of PTI officials.

“Only Imran Khan needs an NRO. No other person requires any NRO,” she said when questioned about PM’s claims to meet UK counterpart Boris Johnson.
