After Flop Show Of Minar-e-Pakistan, Bubble Of Opposition Has Burst: Shibli Faraz

Shibli Faraz

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz said that PML-N leadership should not waste the time of the nation by threatening to resign.

In a Tweet, Shibli Faraz said that instead of wasting time opposition should take practical steps and resign.

“After the flop show of Minar-e-Pakistan, the bubble of opposition has burst. The announcement of inflation march after the long march is proof of opposition’s flinching and shrinking agenda,” he said.

Earlier today, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has on Wednesday (today) said that “The city [is] choked” ahead of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Mardan Rally.

While addressing a huge PDM Mardan rally, Maryam Nawaz lashed out at Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying that his government was not qualified to run the country’s affairs.

She said the incumbent PTI government was busy playing musical chairs, adding, they don’t have a qualified team to manage Pakistan’s affairs.

“He [PM Imran Khan] says that he is not afraid of the PDM and will now bow before it,” she said, taunting the prime minister by saying that only the one who stands can take a bow.

“Whether your government is prepared to run the affairs of the country or not, the people of Mardan have decided that they will not rest till you are sent home,” she said.

Further firing taunts at the premier, the PML-N leader added that “He used to say before becoming prime minister that he has a team of 200 professionals. Where is your team now? When you know that you were not qualified to be prime minister, why were you in such a hurry to wear the sherwani?” she asked.

“You were not prepared to run the country but were prepared to rob the country of Rs122bn in the LNG scam,” she said. “You were not prepared to give the youth 10 million jobs but were prepared to give your friends lucrative jobs,” Maryam Nawaz added.

Maryam Nawaz Tweets Ahead of Mardan Visit

She, in another tweet, exclaimed happiness at supporters of other political parties escorting her vehicle through the crowd.

PDM meeting

The Pakistan Democratic (PDM) leadership will meet in Islamabad on December 8.

According to sources, the PDM leadership will review options including resignations from assemblies, conducting long march or holding negotiations with the government.

The meeting is also expected to discuss matters related to the formation of a joint team for the back-door contacts.

Recommendations in this regard have been sought from the political parties of the alliance.

However, the Local administration of Lahore had rejected a request from PDM leadership to hold a public gathering at the Minar-e-Pakistan owing to rising COVID-19 cases.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore Mudassar Riaz Malik while divulging details on the reasons behind the rejection, had said that only 300 people are allowed to gather under the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).

“Even this permission is for the wedding ceremonies,” he had said.

Earlier, while addressing the PDM Multan rally, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman had said that there would be protests all over the country on Friday and Saturday against the violence in Multan.
