PM Imran made the institutions autonomous, independent, says Shibli Faraz

Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz has on Wednesday said that the decisions taken by masses have to be accepted by all political parties.

In his tweet, he said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has made the institutions independent and autonomous.

Shibli Faraz said the agenda of the opposition’s alliance is to get the cases against them abolished. He regretted that the opposition parties want a judiciary which gives judgments in their favor.

These parties only consider those elections free and fair in which they secure victories. He said this is not a democratic but dictatorial conduct, the minister added.

Earlier on Tuesday, Shibli Faraz has slammed the opposition parties for not accepting their defeat in elections and asked them to end this bad tradition.

Taking to Twitter, the minister said that this act is contrary to democratic norms, adding that those delivering lectures on democracy should adopt democratic conduct.

The Minister said the emotional statements of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are devoid of facts and logic.

Shibli Faraz expressed his surprise that those raising slogans regarding the sanctity of vote are not ready to respect the ballot of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Maulana Fazl rejects ban imposed on public gatherings

Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has on Tuesday rejected the imposed on public gatherings by the federal government amidst increasing novel Coronavirus cases.

The JUI-F chief said, “We reject a ban on public gatherings in the guise of COVID-19 pandemic and they will be held as per schedule.”

He further added that the incumbent PTI government use their tactics to pressurize the opposition parties.

He said that it is not a government formed from the public mandate and therefore they would not hold any sort of negotiations with them. “We also reject the results of the Gilgit Baltistan elections,” Fazlur Rehman said.

It is pertinent to mention here that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and Maulana Fazlur Rehman have rejected the recently-concluded Gilgit-Baltistan elections.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Gilgit-Baltistan on Sunday (today) to attend the National Day celebrations of the region.

According to sources, PM Imran will also address a ceremony during his visit to be attended by the Governor Gilgit-Baltistan and interim chief minister of the region

The caretaker chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Mir Afzal Khan, announced that the elections for the legislative assembly will be organized on November 15.

Caretaker CM Mir Afzal Khan said in a statement that all preparations for the organization of polls for GB Legislative Assembly were completed and the authorities will ensure measures to hold a transparent election.

It is pertinent to mention here that the election schedule for the Gilgit-Baltistan region was announced in September 2020.

Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that India has become a fascist country influenced by Nazism and is a threat to its neighbours including China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Imran Khan said that he wanted the United States to treat Pakistan equally like India.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that there was tension in the region which could flare up at any time and whoever the new president was, the United States should treat both the countries equally.
