Afghan Cricketer Rashid Khan has revealed what will be the biggest achievement of his team after defeating the top nations.

According to the details, Rashid Khan who has played in almost every T20 league around the world and is one of the first names on the team sheet.

Rashid Khan along with other players like Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, and Gulbadin Naib have made the team of Afghanistan a fighting outfit who regularly plays in International Cricket Council ICC tournaments.

Bundesliga to kick off with limited spectators on Friday

Good news for the fans of the German football league Bundesliga as they are now allowed back into the stadiums when the new season kicks off.

According to the details, in the first match champions, Bayern Munich will be hosting Schalke on Friday.

However, limited numbers of spectators can enjoy the match that is now allowed this weekend after a six-week test phase was agreed.

Germany’s politicians are allowing each stadium to be at 20 percent capacity for the Bundesliga’s 18 clubs, providing the seven-day rate of infection of the coronavirus is lower or equal to 35 per 100,000 inhabitants in the local region.

That means around 15,000 fans could now watch title holders Bayern Munich start the new season on Friday at home to Schalke 04 at the Allianz Arena, in Munich, Bavaria, Germany with a 70,000 seating capacity for international matches and 75,000 for domestic matches.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Fans must wear face masks and stay 1.5m apart, while alcohol is banned and away supporters are not allowed.

Armin Laschet, state premier for Germany’s football hotbed North-Rhine Westphalia in his statement said “Sports events thrive on fans’ support and atmosphere with an audience – this applies to Bundesliga games as well as to amateur sports,”

There was already a test run in the first round of the German Cup last weekend.

Every club has worked on location-specific hygiene concepts that include prevention measures inside the stadium and on the way to the grounds.

Commissioner Karachi orders to demolish dilapidated buildings

Commissioner Karachi has ordered the demolition of dilapidated buildings in the city.

According to the details, Deputy Commissioner South has compiled a list of damaged buildings in Lyari and Saddar Town and ordered to take action in stages.

In Lyari, three buildings have been demolished in the last two days and more are being bulldozed.

In Karachi, dilapidated buildings and substandard constructions have become a serious threat to human lives.

The Sindh Building Control Authority has declared 49 buildings in Lyari as extremely damaged and dangerous.

According to the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), the total number of damaged buildings in Karachi at present is 422, of which the most damaged buildings are in the southern district with more than 300 which may meet any accident at any time.

Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Iftikhar Ali Shallwani earlier said that more than 400 buildings are in deplorable condition in the city, and notices were already issued to the inhabitants for evacuating the same.

Shallwani stated it was very sad that the people are dying in such incidents. According to a press statement from KMC, he said that strict action would be taken against responsible for the loss of human lives. “FIRs have been lodged against the responsible persons of previous collapses of buildings,” he added.

Building Collapse Incidents in 2020

Five buildings have collapsed in Karachi this year, killing more than 50 people.

February 2020

Earlier, in February a ground-plus-five storeyed residential building constructed on an 80-square-yard plot in Lyari’s Usmanabad developed cracks before tilting dangerously.

 March 2020

A building built on plots of forty yards was five storeys high. The owner was also constructing the sixth floor when the whole building collapsed which affected two other buildings as well.

June 2020

In June, a five-storeyed residential building located in Lyari’s Kalri area collapsed, killing more than 22 people.

September 2020

A four-storeyed residential building in Allahwala Town in District Korangi collapsed last Thursday, killing four people.

September 2020

The recent incident happened on September 13, when a two-storey building collapsed near a coal warehouse in the Lyari area of ​​Karachi.

The building collapse left two dead and twelve others wounded. The injured were then shifted to Civil Hospital.

The Sindh Textbook Board (STBB) had failed in printing and distributing textbooks to government schools across the province.

The books are distributed to the children studying in government schools by the STBB before the commencement of the new academic year, but the authorities have failed this year.

According to sources, private publishers have cut down the printing of government textbooks by 40% due to non-payment of money.

Meanwhile, the books printed by STBB had also not been distributed among the children.

The maximum number of people is 256 and it is perfect for sending commercial notifications, personal announcements or important information. Whereas, in some countries there are laws on the prior authorization to receive this type of messages.

Pakistan: COVID-19 claims 4 more lives, cases soared to 303,089

The ongoing deadly Coronavirus pandemic has claimed four more lives across Pakistan during the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,393.

According to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 665 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan.

However, the number of confirmed cases in the country spiked up to 303,089.

As many as 290,760 Covid-19 patients have recuperated from the disease, pushing the number of active cases down to 5,936. 29,097 samples were tested during the previous 24 hours, out of which 539 turned out to be positive.

Thus far, more than 3 million tests have been conducted across the country.

India’s cases surpass five million mark

According to the current update, India’s coronavirus cases surged past 5 million on Wednesday with a single-day jump of 90,123 infections in the last 24 hours.

India is only the second country in the world to cross the grim milestone of 5 million cumulative cases, after the United States.

The death toll from COVID-19 is now at 82,066, the ministry said, with 1290 fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours.

Korangi causeway once again closed for traffic after floodwater from Malir River

Korangi Causeway was once again closed for public after flooding in the Malir River on Tuesday night.

According to the police, the local authorities have blocked the Korangi Causeway for all kind of traffic as the road was submerged under knee-deep water.

Roads going to Korangi from Mehmoodabad and Qayyumabad have been closed for the traffic.

The police said that traffic is being diverted to Jam Sadiq bridge, Brookes and Bilal Chowrangi.

The local authorities informed that the water level at the Malir Stream rose due the rain on Monday.

It is to be mentioned here that the flooding was caused in recent monsoon rainfall in Malir River and rising level of the water swept away the filter wall of the Malir spillway.

The Traffic Police had earlier closed Korangi Causeway for traffic due to the rising water level in Malir River.

Several bikes were also recovered from Causeway road after the water level decreased at the area after heavy downpour in the area.

Recently, the developers responsible for WhatsApp web indicated the novelty through tests of displaying the icons on the screen. Still in development, the functionality is not available to the public.

According to WABetaInfo, the novelty was indicated by means of an image of the icon test, in version 2.2037.6 of the messenger.

The latest version also includes other visual updates, such as the attachment icon and the new loading screen.

Although it is not expected to be released, the feature has already been commented on by the vehicle since June, when other tests pointed out the interest of developers in implementing it, including even group calls – already available in Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp.

However, for the mobile version of WhatsApp, the team of developers are working on a new feature that aims at the visual comfort of users.

The feature, still under development, will allow the adjustment of brightness in the background of conversations and its function is to improve the contrast between the image and the messages.

The functionality was observed by WABetaInfo in the Beta version 2.20.200.6 of the messenger and can be found in the settings and wallpaper selection screen of a conversation, once it is officially made available to users.

Asia Stock market witnesses mixed trend on Wednesday

On Wednesday Asia Stock market witnessed a mixed trend, as investors awaited the Federal Reserve’s view on the economy at the end of its policy meeting.

Australian S&P/ASX 200 futures rose 0.75% in early trading.

Commodity-linked currencies such as the Australian, New Zealand, and Canadian dollars gained after the positive Chinese data.

But with U.S. lawmakers at a stand-off over a new stimulus package, concerns about the economic recovery remained and the attention of investors shifted to a two-day U.S. Federal Reserve meeting, that started on Tuesday.

Analysts are of the view that “There is some expectation that with the U.S. Congress unwilling and unable to agree to a new fiscal package, monetary policy may need to step in to fill the void,”

“Accordingly markets will be focused on any changes to forwarding guidance and to any balance sheet adjustments.”

Furthermore, the Bank of Japan and the Bank of England announce their respective policy decisions on Thursday.

MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan closed 0.65% higher on Tuesday.

Senate to take up FATF bills in joint session today

Pakistan President Dr. Arif Alvi has summoned the joint sitting of parliament today to vote on bills related to Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) obligations.

According to the details, the joint session of the National Assembly and the Senate will take up the Anti-Money Laundering (Second Amendment) bill and Islamabad Capital Territory Waqf Properties Bill to meet the requirements of the FATF for passage.

Last month, the Senate rejected two FATF-related bills. Adviser to the Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Babar Awan also moved a motion on Monday this week, under Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business of the House to refer two bills to the joint sitting as provided by the Constitution. The motion was adopted by the House.

Furthermore, the joint session is scheduled to meet at the Parliament House at 4 pm today.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has convened a meeting of combined parliamentary parties of the ruling coalition to discuss the strategy for the important legislation.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the lawmakers to ensure their presence at the meeting to be held at 02:30 pm at the Parliament House.

Senate Rejected Bills

Let it be known that on August 25, the opposition-ruled Senate had rejected the bills earlier adopted by the NA, as two major opposition parties – the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) – declined to support them.

The two parties insisted that the Leader of the House should withdraw his remarks against their leadership and the laid-down procedure concerning the bills be followed.
