WhatsApp Removes Their Newly Launched Feature

WhatsApp will release a feature that allows you to send photos and videos that can only be viewed once. You can also verify if the recipient has opened the media, according to WABetainfo. 

This new feature will be available in a future update on WhatsApp for Android, iOS and Web/Desktop.

The media will disappear from the chat once you have viewed it. This will allow users to save up on space. The feature is expected to be released soon.

The text and video messaging platform recently announced to roll out another feature that will enable users to use the application on multiple devices without having an internet connection.

This feature will be available in a future update on WhatsApp for Android, iOS, web and desktop devices.

According to WABetaInfo, the multi-device feature is currently under development but it is expected to launch within the next two months for both Android and iOS users.

Once launched, users would be able to link up to four devices to their WhatsApp accounts, confirmed Will Cathcart.

The new update will also allow users to migrate their chat history between iOS and Android devices.

Moreover, WhatsApp is working on few more interesting features for both Android and iOS.

Disappearing Mode

WhatsApp already has a Disappearing Messages function, which it is now trying to expand. In an interview with WaBetaInfo, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, announced that WhatsApp will offer a disappearing mode, which will allow you to enable disappearing messages across all chat threads.

View Once Feature

Zuckerberg also revealed that WhatsApp intends to offer a ‘view once’ function that would allow users to exchange media such as images and movies that can only be viewed once.

Multiple Device Support

The company has been testing multi-device compatibility for months and has now confirmed that it will be available soon. According to WaBetaInfo, the support will go into public beta “within the next month or two.”

Missed Group Calls

WhatsApp is also said to be working on a feature that will allow you to join missed group calls. In simpler terms, if you are invited to join a group call but are unable to do so at the time, you will be given the option to join later if the call has not yet finished.

Finally, according to WaBetaInfo, the Facebook-owned company is working on a ‘Read Later’ feature. The feature will take the place of the existing Archived Chats feature and will not restore the archived chats to the top of the messaging app.

With numerous helpful features, WhatsApp is once again working on a new privacy feature that will enable users to open WhatsApp Web only with a biometric authentication. The feature is currently under development and limited to beta testers.

Wabetainfo, spotted this new functionality on WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.20.200.10. The update also brings some bug fixes for Recently Used Emojis alongside the new fingerprint feature.

This fingerprint authentication system will ensure that your WhatsApp chats are safe on the desktop and create a layer of complete security for the users.

To use WhatsApp on desktop or PC, users need to currently scan the QR code displayed on WhatsApp web, but soon they will be required to use the fingerprint scanner to successfully use WhatsApp on desktop.

WhatsApp fingerprint lock system works in the same way as the fingerprint lock of any smartphone does. It enables users to protect their conversations from intruding eyes of strangers. The feature was recently added in the Settings option and available for both Android and iOS users.

To enable fingerprint lock on WhatsApp: tap Settings, go to Account, then Privacy and Fingerprint Lock. You can then turn on Unlock with fingerprint, and confirm your fingerprint.

Moreover, WhatsApp also introduced a new animated sticker pack called Usagyuuun in the default sticker list recently. This pack has a white cartoon character that depicts feelings of joy, anxiety, sadness, love, etc.

WhatsApp is also working on a new feature called Wallpaper Dimming. This feature will let users adjust the opacity of the wallpapers in WhatsApp. However, it will come in the wallpaper section which is still in the works.

On Android devices:

You can choose up to 256 phone numbers, but these must be added to your contact list and they in turn should have your WhatsApp saved so that messages can reach them.

WhatsApp Web will launch a long-awaited and interesting feature for its users which is video and voice calls.

Recently, the developers responsible for WhatsApp web indicated the novelty through tests of displaying the icons on the screen. Still in development, the functionality is not available to the public.

According to WABetaInfo, the novelty was indicated by means of an image of the icon test, in version 2.2037.6 of the messenger.

The latest version also includes other visual updates, such as the attachment icon and the new loading screen.

Although it is not expected to be released, the feature has already been commented on by the vehicle since June, when other tests pointed out the interest of developers in implementing it, including even group calls – already available in Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp.

However, for the mobile version of WhatsApp, the team of developers are working on a new feature that aims at the visual comfort of users.

The feature, still under development, will allow the adjustment of brightness in the background of conversations and its function is to improve the contrast between the image and the messages.

The functionality was observed by WABetaInfo in the Beta version 2.20.200.6 of the messenger and can be found in the settings and wallpaper selection screen of a conversation, once it is officially made available to users.
