LAHORE: An important consultative meeting of Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) was held in which political and economic issues including other issues were discussed.

The important consultative meeting of PML-N was held at Shehbaz Sharif’s residence, Model Town.

The meeting was presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while party leader Nawaz Sharif was also consulted through a video link.

The federal ministers, assistants including Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shehbaz, Musadiq Malik, Malik Ahmed Khan, Maryam Aurangzeb, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also participated in the consultation meeting held in Model Town Lahore.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif informed the participants about the meetings with Maulana Fazal ur Rehman and Asif Ali Zardari.

According to the sources, the political situation, economic issues, public relief, and other important issues were discussed in the meeting held in Lahore.

The attack on the police personnel at Imran Khan’s residence and the hooliganism outside the court were condemned, while the comprehensive strategy for the attack on government institutions by Imran Khan and the elections and election campaign in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were discussed in the meeting. A consultation was also held on the distribution of tickets.

On this occasion, a briefing was also given on various options to give relief to the people, keeping in mind the inflation situation, and participants were also informed about the Ramadan package.

LHC declares appointment of 19 law officers illegal

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday declared the appointment of 19 law officers by the Caretaker Government of Punjab as illegal.

According to the details, in the case of the dismissal of law officers in Punjab in the Lahore High Court, the court upheld the dismissal of 97 law officers including Advocate General Punjab Ahmed Owais.

Court ruled against the re-appointment of 19 law officers posted during the tenure of former Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.

A five-member larger bench comprising Justice Ali Baqar Najafi of the Lahore High Court reserved its decision after the arguments were completed.

In today’s hearing, Mansoor Awan, the lawyer of the Punjab government, said that the Advocate General is bound to act according to the advice of the government. The Advocate General is the principal law officer who cannot appear in court by himself.

Advocate General Punjab Ahmad Owais’s lawyer Abid Zuberi also appeared in the court, while Election Commission’s lawyer Shahzada Mazhar submitted a written reply in the court.

It should be noted that earlier the case related to the dismissal of Advocate General Punjab, law officers, and heads of independent institutions was set for hearing by the court, after which a five-member larger bench of Lahore High Court was formed under the supervision of Justice Ali Baqar Najafi.

LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab Hamza Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday directed administrative machinery to remain alert in view of the monsoon season and possible floods in the province, BOL News reports.

According to the details, Chief Minister chaired a meeting and ordered a timely evacuation of the population within the river bed by taking public representatives on board.

He asked the health department representatives to remain alert for timely provision of medical aid to the flood affectees. He said that Health Department should have ample stock of medicines in this regard to provide assistance for the people of Punjab.

Hamza Shehbaz also directed the Pakistan Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA) authorities to provide an uninterrupted supply of electricity during the monsoon season with the proper coordination of distribution companies, BOL News reports.
