Two independent MPAs from Balochistan join PML-N

LAHORE: Two independent members of the provincial assembly from Balochistan announced to join the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N).

2 newly elected members of the Balochistan Assembly met Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore and announced joining the party.

Newly elected independent members of Balochistan Assembly Constituency PB 41 and PB 51 Wali Muhammad and Abdul Khaliq joined PML-N.

Shahbaz Sharif congratulated and welcomed Wali Muhammad and Abdul Khaliq Khan on joining PML-N.

He said that you played a role for the stability of Pakistan, which is worthy of praise, Pakistan needs stability, not chaos.

He said that problems can be solved not by fighting but by talking and working together. He considers the development of Balochistan as the first requirement for the development of Pakistan.

In the meeting, the newly elected members congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on being nominated as Prime Minister by PML-N.

On the other hand, after joining two members, the number of members of PML-N in the Balochistan Assembly increased to 12.

LAHORE: The parliamentary session of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been convened on  tomorrow (February 21) to form a government in Punjab.

According to sources, a meeting was held in Jati Umra under the chairmanship of PML-N chief organizer Maryam Nawaz, in which it was decided to convene a meeting of the parliamentary party on February 21.

Sources say that the party’s nominated Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz will preside over the meeting.

According to the sources, there will be consultation on government formation, and selection of speaker and deputy speaker in the meeting, while all the newly elected members of Punjab Assembly of Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have been instructed to attend the meeting.

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz’s (PML-N) chief organizer Maryam Nawaz Sharif has got security as a nominee of chief minister Punjab..

Police sources said Maryam Nawaz has been provided with four police squads and a traffic police pilot and two bullet proof vehicles have also been provided to her.

Security has been provided on the orders of IG Punjab, police have been deployed on Jati Umrah.

It should be noted that Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has nominated Maryam Nawaz as the candidate for Chief Minister of Punjab and has also claimed to get majority to form the provincial government.

Nawaz Sharif seeks PPP support for formation of government

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif invited the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), independent candidates, and other political parties to sit together for the country.

Addressing the workers, he said that the PML-N has emerged as the largest party in the general elections and we must take this country out of the crises.

He said that PML-N respects the mandate of the parties and parties respect everyone whether it is a party or independent people. He invited independent candidates to come and sit with us to get Pakistan out of its difficulties, our agenda is only and Only Pakistan is prosperous.

He said that you know who has done what for this country and how PML-N got out of the economic difficulties and fixed the economy.

The former prime minister said that politicians, parliament, Pakistan forces, and media should all play a positive role.  He said at least ten years are needed for stability in the country and added that Pakistan cannot afford any war at this time.

Nawaz Sharif announced the formation of a coalition government in the absence of a simple majority and said that we do not want to compare with anyone.

ISLAMABAD: The mobile phone service was partially restored in various cities of the country.

According to the Ministry of Interior, mobile phone service has been restored in Bhakkar, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Taxila, Gujar Khan Chakri.

The Ministry of Interior said that the service has also been partially restored in Loralai, Sibi and Jhal Magsi areas of Balochistan.

The Ministry of Interior said that the service has been restored in the cities of Sindh province, but the service will remain suspended in Karachi.

It should be noted that on the occasion of the general elections in the country, mobile phone and internet services remain closed throughout the country.

Candidates and voters faced difficulties due to suspension of mobile phone and internet services.

ECP issues notice to Daniyal Aziz for violation of code of conduct

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a notice to Daniyal Aziz Choudhry, an independent candidate from National Assembly Constituency NA-75 Narowal, for violating the code of conduct.

The Election Commission fixed the hearing of the case on February 10. In case of success in the election, the notification of Daniyal Aziz will be subject to the decision of the Election Commission.

According to the District Monitoring Officer (DMO) report, Daniyal Aziz is repeatedly violating the code of conduct, he responds to notices and does not appear.

According to the report, Daniyal Aziz was also fined 50,000 which he did not pay.

It should be remembered that Daniyal Aziz is contesting elections as a  independent candidate after not getting a ticket from  Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz(PML-N).

PML-N has given ticket to Chaudhry Anwar ul Haque from NA-75.

ATC declares 4 underground PTI leaders as POs

LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism Court(ATC) has declared four underground leaders of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) as proclaimed offenders.

The Anti-Terrorism Court of Lahore heard the case related to the burning of the office of Pakistan  Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Model Town on May 9.

Judge Muhammad Naveed Iqbal of the Anti-Terrorism Court heard the case, the investigating officer said that the advertisements of the accused were also published but they were not appeared.

The investigating officer requested that the accused should be classified as proclaimed offenders  after hiding from the arrest cadre.

The court has declared four undercover PTI leaders as advertisers including Murad Saeed, Azam Swati, Wasiq Qayyum and Muhammad Zubair Niazi.

A case has been registered against the accused in Model Town Police Station.

PML-N finally unveils election manifesto

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) unveiled the election manifesto with the slogan of ‘Pakistan Ko Nawaz Do’.

Addressing the media after the manifesto’s launch, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif said the party promises to abolish NAB, provide 10 million jobs, reduce poverty and unemployment, and ensure the supply of cheap electricity and gas.

The PML-N has also promised judicial reforms and economic reforms. The major points of the election manifesto of PML-N.

Abolition of NAB

In the manifesto of the PML-N, it is also promised to abolish the institution of NAB and to strengthen other institutions working against corruption.

Provision of cheap electricity and gas supply

Electricity bills will be reduced by 20 to 30%, 15,000 megawatts of electricity will be added to the country’s grid, and 10,000 megawatts of electricity will be generated across the country through solar power.

The manifesto states that gas bills will also be reduced, including a promise to reduce inflation by 10% in 2025.

Foreign Policy

In the manifesto of Muslim League-N, it is said that Pakistan will be made strong at the global level, India will have to withdraw the unilateral measures of August 5 from Occupied Kashmir and the Kashmir conflict will be resolved according to the resolutions of the United Nations.

Announcements for Farmers

The PML-N also promised to provide interest-free loans to small farmers and cultivators along with innovation in agriculture, while the provision of 10 million jobs in five years is also included in the manifesto.

Judicial reforms

The supremacy of Parliament will be ensured, the judiciary and justice system will be reformed and a timely and effective judicial system will be implemented.

Economic reforms

GDP growth will be brought up to 6 percent in 3 years and per capita income will be brought up to 2 thousand dollars in five years while exports will be brought up to 60 billion dollars in five years.

Education

Evening schools will be started across the country and the education budget will be increased by 4%, with the establishment of Danish schools across the country.

ATC acquits Maryam Aurangzeb, Javed Latif in anti-state speech

LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Lahore acquitted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N)  leader Maryam Aurangzeb and  Javed Latif in the anti-state speech case.

Judge Naveed Iqbal of the Anti-Terrorism Court heard the case and pronounced a reserved verdict according to which Maryam Aurangzeb and Latif Javed were acquitted.

Similarly, former MD of PTV Sohail Ali and former director of PTV News Rashid Baig were also acquitted.

In the anti-state speech case, the Anti-Terrorism Court ordered the arrest and production of Maryam Aurangzeb till December 9, 2023, for which a non-bailable arrest warrant was also issued.

However, later, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Abher Gul Khan heard the case, on this occasion, Maryam Aurangzeb and Javed Latif appeared in the court.

Maryam Aurangzeb’s non-bailable arrest warrant issued at the last hearing was canceled when she appeared in court.

LAHORE:  Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has suspended the party membership of former Chief Minister and former Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Sardar Mehtab Abbasi.

According to the statement issued by the Muslim League-N, action has been taken against Mehtab Abbasi for continuous violation of party discipline.

PML-N General Secretary Ahsan Iqbal has issued a notification.
