KARACHI: Senior Vice Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday said that audio recording of any individual is an illegal act.

Former Federal Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi while talking to Bol News said that the use of audio has political purposes and questioned who gives the authority to record someone’s conversation.

He further said that Imran Khan has also given a reference to the audio recording in the letter to the President, who has the authority to record the conversation with the elected Prime Minister.

On the other hand, well-known lawyer Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan also spoke and said that the phone of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was tapped, where did the audio come to the interior minister.

He said that recording the call is a crime, it dissolves the assembly. He said Maryam Nawaz showed the video in the press conference but did not present it in court.

PPP leader said Chief Election Commissioner is incompetent and he has prepared for the election.

He said Chief Election Commissioner should order the election.

Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan further said that there are excuses to express disability from holding the election, did the Chief Election Commissioner write to the Printing Corporation to deliver the paper. He said, “If the Governor did not dissolve the Assembly, then the date should be given by the Chief Election Commissioner.”

It should be noted that Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah released the alleged audio of former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and his lawyers yesterday.

MULTAN: Senior Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that it is understood how the caretaker government wants to conduct the elections.

Former Federal Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi while talking to the media in Multan said that the transfers and postings are being done in violation of the code of conduct, the constitution, and the law are being violated.

He said that only the judiciary can defend the constitution and the law, now the Election Commission and the judiciary are being tested.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the Election Commission of Pakistan failed to fulfill its constitutional responsibility, such situations have not been seen in 40 years.

The senior Leader of PTI said RO does not change after the release of the election schedule and it is understood how the caretaker government wants to conduct the elections. He said appointments are being made in Punjab for political purposes.

The former federal minister said that those who understand the political situation are watching what is happening in the field to expose the plans of the government.

He said that pressure is being put on PTI people and cases are being registered against party workers while arrests are being made and revenge actions are being taken against supporters.

The PTI leader said that the current government is responsible for the inflation and they have new agreements with the IMF. He said people were being treated without discrimination with the Insaaf Health Card but this government has also taken away the Insaaf Health Card from the people. He said the people of Pakistan are having nightmares after the arrival of Dar.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that he has to appear in court tomorrow and so far six cases have been registered against him. He said if he does not appear tomorrow, maybe an arrest warrant will be issued.

The former federal minister said the decision of the Jail Bharo Movement was made by Imran Khan, the day Imran Khan started the movement. He said, “I will fulfill my responsibility and present the arrest.”

The former federal minister said that he is contesting elections from NA 156 Multan, ADCR was supposed to collect nomination papers but the government changed the person collecting nomination papers overnight.

MULTAN: Vice Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday said the controversial appointment in Punjab and arrest of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry have shown government intentions.

Addressing a press conference in Multan, former federal minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the caretaker setup is moving ahead under preplanned agenda which makes the election process controversial. He feared more PTI leaders can be arrested in the upcoming days in the country.

He said news of Imran Khan’s arrest has created uncertainty in party leadership and workers. He further said the arrested of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry is condemnable.

Senior PTI leader said Imran Khan and other party leaders have raised objections to the name of Mohsin Naqvi but he was appointed as Chief Minister of Punjab.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said a 24-hour-long power breakdown put the country in darkness and any untoward situation can occur during a power outage.

He said Caretaker Government has changed Joint Investigation Team (JIT) members which are probing the murderous attack on Imran Khan.

MULTAN: Former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday termed the Governor Punjab’s step as an attack on democracy, constitution, and law.

Talking to media in Multan, Vice-Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi said an elected chief minister and cabinet have de-notified through an illegal and unconstitutional way. He said unfortunately there is no rule of law in the country and only might is right policy exists.

He regretted how Chief Secretary Punjab has implemented illegal and unconstitutional step of Governor Punjab. He said PTI is expecting such an unconstitutional step from the federal government thus party will stage a protest outside the Governor House in Lahore.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the government should focus on the national economy. He said traders, industrialists, and farmers seemed upset over the country’s poor economic situation.

The former foreign minister said terrorist activities are increasing once again and even federal capital is not saved from terrorism.

Vice-Chairman PTI said Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari should be in Afghanistan in this crisis time but Bilawal has no time to visit Kabul.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi hoped that Lahore high court will take this case to its logical conclusion.
