Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Imran Khan to announce to dissolve assemblies on Saturday

  • “The assembly was used for political purposes,” Shah Mahmood Qureshi
  • He said the PTI members had already resigned from the NA.
  • He presented the party decision that all the MNAs had resigned

ISLAMABAD: Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman, on Thursday said PTI chief Imran Khan would announce to dissolve assemblies on December 17.

“We decided to dissociate (with the legislative process), after the imported government was imposed on us. The assembly was used for political purposes,” Shah Mahmood Qureshi said talking to media in Islamabad. He said the PTI members had already resigned from the National Assembly.

He said the coalition government was still running from the election and the government was not serious in holding talks. He said they had made their decision and they only had to implement that decision now.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said he had shared the letter with Imran Khan for approval and after that he was sending the letter to the NA speaker. He said the speaker should summon them so that they could collectively give a statement. He presented the party decision that all the MNAs had resigned, he maintained.

He said resignations of specific people were used for political gains. He said Raja Parvaiz Ashraf had taken the decision on desire of the government.

PTI leader Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, on this occasion, said they had submitted resignations from all the seats and when again they were going to resign together, the assembly session was adjourned. “There will be a movement ‘dissolve the assemblies’. 70 per cent country will go towards election,” he said.

He said the government gave wrong statement before the Supreme Court that the PTI members were receiving salaries despite resigning. He said no MNA of the party had received a salary since April. He doubted that salaries were being received in the name of PTI members.
