32 people died in rain related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR: Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA)  issued a report of loss of life and property in the province due to heavy rains and flood related incident as many 32 people have died with 41 injured in different districts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the report issued by PDMA, 15 children, 12 men and 5 women are among the dead, while the injured include 6 women, 28 men and 7 children. A total of 1370 houses were damaged due to the collapse of walls and roofs in different districts, in which 160 houses were completely damaged and 1210 houses were partially damaged.

Due to heavy rains, life and financial accidents occurred in various districts of Khyber including Dir Upper and Lower, Chitral Lower and Upper, Swat, Bajaur, Shangla, Mansehra, Mohmand, Malakand, Karak, Tank, Mardan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Bunir, Hangu, Bataghram, Bannu, North and South Waziristan, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan and Orakzai District, the report of the PDMA said.

On the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, the PDMA released Rs. 50 million to the administration of 12 affected districts for financial assistance to the families of those who lost their lives in the recent rains, the PDMA report said.

Rs 20 million for Nowshera, Dir Lower Rs 5 million, Swat and Malakand Rs 3.3 million, Dir Upper and Tank Rs 2.2 million, and Rs. 1 million each for Chitral Lower, Bitaghram, Karak, Peshawar and Charsadda.

The PDMA also released 10 million rupees in general relief to Chitral Lower and Rs. 81 million to the administration of various districts since March 29 to deal with the emergency situation, the report said.

According to the relief policy, the said funds can be used for the financial support and relief activities of the victims, PDMA said. Help and rehabilitation of the affected family due to rains is our first priority, PDMA said.

Meanwhile, Complex Emergency Wing PDMA has released an amount of Rs. 80 million for tribal areas, said Subia Hassam, Director PDMA. The said amount has been given to the concerned district administration for relief activities in tribal areas, Director PDMA informed.

The North and South Waziristan were given Rs. 20 million, Kurram five million, Khyber 1.5 million, Bajaur one million and Mohmand also one million respectively, Director PDMA Complex Emergency Wing said.

PDMA dispatches relief goods for rains hit people

PESHAWAR: On the special directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur, relief activities are in full swing in the rain-affected districts across the province.

As an important step in this regard, PDMA has dispatched relief packages for Swat, Mohmand, Peshawar, Lower Chitral, Lower Kohistan and other affected districts. Relief supplies include tents, blankets, kitchen sets, hygiene kits, mosquito nets, mattresses and other necessary items.

Apart from this, disbursement of financial assistance announced by the Chief Minister, has also been started. So far, Rs 30 million have been disbursed among affectees in the different districts of the province.

Moreover, the chief minister has directed the district administrations and PDMA to further accelerate relief activities and rehabilitation of infrastructure damaged by recent torrential rains and floods in the certain parts of the province.

He further directed them to ensure that victims are provided with relief packages without any delay.

PESHAWAR: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chief Minister Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur held discussions on matters related to peace and security in the province.

The Interior Minister visited the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar to discuss law and order and other security issues with Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

They both agreed on improving coordination between federal and provincial authorities to enforce laws aimed at enhancing peace and security in the province.

They condemned the recent attacks on Chinese nationals and expressed sympathy with the Chinese government and families of the deceased.

It was decided in the meeting to bring the perpetrators of the incident to justice and eradicate terrorism.

Ali Amin Gandapur emphasized that peace and security are top priorities for the provincial government and ensuring the protection of life and property of the people is the foremost objective.

He mentioned that efforts would be made to strengthen the police and other law enforcement agencies in the province.

The Chief Minister also stated that concrete steps would be taken under a coherent strategy to achieve this objective.

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to establish a liver transplant center and a bone marrow transplant center in the province.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur in which it was decided to establish a liver transplant center and a bone marrow transplant center in the province while it was also decided to establish an institute of neurosurgery.

Chief Minister KP directed to provide funds for the establishment of these centers on priority basis.

The first liver transplant center is scheduled to be set up at the Institute of Kidney Diseases in Peshawar, with plans for its eventual relocation to Khyber Medical University.

Moreover, the meeting concluded with a decision to establish the Institute of Neurosurgery, which is earmarked to be located at Fountain House in Peshawar.

The provincial government’s objective is to make liver and bone marrow transplant services easily accessible to the residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, thereby reducing the need for them to seek treatment outside the province.

Furthermore, concerted efforts are being made to ensure the availability of dialysis services around the clock in government hospitals equipped with such facilities, with plans underway to introduce dialysis services in hospitals currently lacking them.

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur to let his brother Faisal Amin Gandapur contest on the National Assembly seat from Dera Ismail Khan.

In a video statement, Ali Amin Gandapur said his brother will contest by-elections from the NA-44 constituency which he vacated following his win on the PK-113 Dera Ismail Khan-III seat.

Ali Amin Gandapur said he has conveyed the decision to party founder Imran Khan as well after he inquired Gandapur where he plans to adjust his brother in the provincial cabinet.

ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad annulled the trial court’s order declaring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur as a proclaimed offender over the recovery of arms and liquor.

A case of recovery of arms and liquor has been registered against Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur in Bharakahu Police Station.

Sessions Judge Shahrukh Arjumand heard the review application of Ali Amin Gandapur, in which Ali Amin Gandapur’s lawyer filed a request for exemption from the attendance of his client, which was accepted by the court.

The petitioner’s counsel told the court that the judicial magistrate had declared Ali Amin Gandapur proclaimed offender for persistent non-appearance, but Ali Amin had not received the notice.

The Sessions Court ordered the petitioner to deposit a bond of Rs 50,000 and give a local surety.

The court annulled the order of the trial court declaring Ali Amin Gandapur as the proclaimed offender sent the case back to the trial court and adjourned the hearing till March 14.

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur did not welcome Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to Peshawar.

According to the protocol, the presence of the governor and the chief minister is necessary on the arrival of the prime minister, but Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was not present during the ceremony at the governor’s house.

The Chief Minister was not present on the occasion of the distribution of relief cheques to the victims of the rain and in the meeting related to law and order and financial affairs of the province.

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in the oath-taking ceremony of the provincial cabinet after some time.

PTI leader Zahir Shah Toro said that the Prime Minister is not a Form 45 holder, but a Form 47 holder, so the Chief Minister did not go to the reception.

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority(PDMA) has released a report on the damage caused by rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to PDMA, roofs of houses and landslides occurred due to rain, so far 35 people have died and 43 people have been injured in various incidents.

The PDMA report states that 346 houses have been partially damaged and 46 houses have been completely damaged.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced relief money for the families of those who died and the injured in the accidents caused by rain and snow.

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced giving one million each to the families of the deceased, 300,000 to the seriously injured, and 50,000 to the minor injured.

ISLAMABAD:Ali Amin Gandapur has been elected as Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) here Friday.

The newly elected speaker, namely Babar Saleem Swati, who took the oath yesterday, presided over the KP Assembly session.

In the 106th House, Ali Amin Gandapur bagged 90 votes, while PML-N candidate Dr. Ibadullah Khan managed to secure 16 votes.

Ali Amin Gandapur, who won the elections from Dera Ismail Khan as an independent, had the support of the Sunni Ittehad Council, while his opponent was Ibadullah Khan of the Muslim League-N, who also got the support of the Pakistan People’s Party(PPP)  and PTI parliamentarians.

Speaker KP Assembly while announcing the results said that Ali Amin Gandapur got 90 votes while PML-N candidate Ibadullah got 16 votes, thus Ali Amin Gandapur got 90 votes and was elected as the Chief Minister.

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court(PHC) extended bail of Ali Amin Gandapur, nominated chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and also stopped police from arresting him in any ongoing investigation.

Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Waqar Ahmed of Peshawar High Court heard the case of nominated Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur.

The lawyer said that Ali Amin Gandapur is the nominated Chief Minister, and there is a fear of arresting Ali Amin Gandapur in old cases, Punjab police are roaming here, and there is a fear of arresting him.

Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim remarked that how did the Punjab police come here and arrest the petitioner?

The court granted Ali Amin’s bail till March 19 and ordered that Ali Amin Gandapur should not be arrested in any case.

PESHAWAR: Ali Amin Gandapur, the nominee for chief minister slot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP), has decided to contest for KP Assembly as an as an independent.
