Gandapur was issued a notice by the ECP after he threatened the opposition with dire consequences. He had made the threat while speaking at a gathering held for his brother, Umar Amin Gandapur, who is contesting the polls for Dera Ismail Khan mayor.
The federal minister had warned that if the opposition candidate wins the elections then his entry would be banned at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s local government ministry. He had also warned that the provincial government would not release the funds for the city if his brother loses the elections.
