Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh, released in 2019, became one of the biggest hits of the year, grossing over ₹250 crore at the box office. Despite the film’s success, the controversial character of Kabir Singh continues to spark debate.

In a recent interview with Faye D’Souza, Shahid discussed the challenges of portraying such a character. He admitted that while he wouldn’t condone many of Kabir’s actions, characters like him do exist in real life.

“It is not really about who I am. It is about who we all can be. Who we all choose to be. What we all want to be,” Shahid explained. “Your learning has to be from that and you cannot make films that are never addressing what is happening in life.”

He further clarified his stance, saying, “I don’t think a lot of things that Kabir did was acceptable at all. I would not accept a guy like that. But do guys like that exist? Do girls like that fall in love with guys like that? Yes they do! So why can’t we make a movie about it?” He added that it’s ultimately up to the audience to decide what they like or dislike.

‘Snow White’ trailer: Gal Gadot takes on Evil Queen’s role in upcoming live-action

Gal Gadot
  • Gal Gadot is stepping into the role of the Evil Queen.
  • She is starring in Disney’s upcoming Snow White movie.
  • The trailer showcased her performance as the conniving stepmother.

Gal Gadot is stepping into the role of the Evil Queen in Marc Webb’s live-action adaptation of Disney’s Snow White, marking a dramatic shift from her iconic portrayal of Wonder Woman.

The recently released trailer showcases Gadot’s performance as the conniving stepmother, with Snow White (Rachel Zegler) narrating the story. After her father’s death, Snow White’s stepmother takes over the kingdom, relegating her to the sidelines.

The situation worsens when the Evil Queen’s Magic Mirror declares that Snow White, not her stepdaughter, is “the fairest of them all.”

In an attempt to escape her evil stepmother, Snow White flees to the forest, where she meets the Seven Dwarfs and joins forces with them to bring positive change. The trailer concludes with the Evil Queen, disguised as an old woman, offering Snow White a poisoned apple.

While many fans are praising Gadot’s casting, some remain skeptical, especially in comparison to previous portrayals of the Evil Queen. One user defended the casting, saying, “I mean she’s more accurate to the animation Evil Queen than they were. I agree they are great in their respective roles but we haven’t seen the full scope of Gal’s version yet. I know people don’t like her (which I totally understand) but it will be interesting to see her version.”

The film has also sparked controversy over the casting of Rachel Zegler as Snow White, a Latina actor in the traditionally white role, as well as for not casting dwarf actors as the Seven Dwarfs.

  • She emphasized her discomfort with the idea.

Angelina Jolie has firmly rejected the idea of a biopic about her life, calling the concept “insane.”

In an interview with The Sunday Times, the Oscar-winning actress was asked what her biopic would look like, but she quickly shut down the topic.

“That gets the most insane question award,” Jolie remarked, emphasizing her discomfort with the idea. She explained that being in the public eye has made her wary of how others might interpret her life.

“When you’re a public person and you’re playing (someone else), you’re conscious of how you would hate for somebody to interpret your life or think they understand your life,” she said. “Let’s hope there isn’t one about my life.”

Jolie has portrayed real-life figures in several films, including supermodel Gia Carangi and journalist Mariane Pearl. She is currently promoting Maria, a film in which she portrays opera singer Maria Callas, focusing on Callas’ final days.

Reflecting on her role, Jolie shared with Variety that singing for the film was therapeutic. “I’ve been holding a lot for a long time, and that beginning and that sound, and then when that sound would eventually come, it was the best therapy I’ve ever had,” she said.

Amid a public life marked by high-profile relationships and a lengthy divorce from actor Brad Pitt, Jolie continues to navigate personal challenges.
