Good news for Pakistanis Hajj pilgrims

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has decided to take Hajj applications again on the remaining quota under the government Hajj scheme.

Under the government scheme, 5000 more pilgrims will be able to perform Hajj and applications will be received from next week. The proposal to fix 5 days for receiving new Hajj applications is under consideration.

Sources said that 81,500 Hajj applications were received under the government Hajj scheme while  applications will be received on the quota of 5,000 left in the official Hajj scheme.

It is under consideration to set a five-day window for accepting these new Hajj applications, ensuring a swift and transparent process.

Meanwhile, an important meeting regarding private Hajj arrangements, chaired by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain.

Govt extends deadline for submitting Hajj applications

ISLAMABAD: Federal Government has extended the deadline to submit applications for Hajj 2025 till December 10.

According to the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain, the last date for receiving Hajj applications has been extended till December 10.

He said that all the Hajj applications received till December 3 have been declared successful, all the Hajj applications received in the sponsorship scheme have also been declared successful.

The federal minister said that if more than the quota of applications are received, a balloting will be held, and the applications received in the sponsorship scheme will be declared successful without a balloting.

The minister added that Hajj applications could be submitted online through the portal on the website of the religious ministry.

Banks start receiving applications for Hajj 2025

ISLAMABAD: Banks across Pakistan started receiving Hajj applications has started by those intending to embark on the annual pilgrimage for 2025.

15 designated banks of the country have started accepting Hajj applications from today.

According to the Hajj policy, the Hajj applicant has to deposit Rs 200,000 along with the application, while the second installment is received after the draw.

Under the policy, the remaining Hajj dues must be paid between 1st and 10th February.

It should be noted that this year Pakistan has got a Hajj quota of 179,210 pilgrims and half of the quota of 79,600 people will be divided equally between the public and private sectors.

Federal cabinet had approved the Hajj policy last week, in which it was stated that the official Hajj package would be between 1.065 million to 1.075 million.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Ministry for Religious Affairs has extended the date of submission of applications under government Hajj Scheme for 10 days.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, December 12 was the last date for submission of applications in the official Hajj scheme, but now the receipt of applications has been extended by 10 days.

The statement said that on the request of pilgrims, the date of submission of applications in the official Hajj scheme was announced to be extended till December 22.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs said that applications are being received in the sponsorship scheme on a first-come-first-served basis, those paying in dollars from abroad will be selected without a draw.

Apart from this, on the request of Hajj pilgrims, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has lifted the 5-year ban on Hajj-i-Badl, after which those who have performed Hajj during the last five years have been declared eligible to apply for Hajj this year.

The declaration said that single women would be able to perform Hajj in a group of trusted women on providing an affidavit.

It should be noted that Hajj applications can be submitted in 15 banks.

Despite slashing Hajj expenses and introducing short-term Hajj facilities, the number of applications has dropped this year too.

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan(SBP) has announced that branches of authorized banks to remain open on Saturday and Sunday for the collections of Hajj Applications forms along with dues for Hajj 2024.

The SBP on the request of Ministry of Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony has directed 15 authorized banks to keep all their designated branches open from 09:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (i.e. 09-12-2023 and 10-12-2023) throughout the country.

NBP will continue to accept Hajj applications till Dec 12

KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has started accepting applications for Hajj 2024 at all NBP branches from November 27 till December 12, 2023.

In the Long Hajj Package, the regular Hajj scheme, which spans 38 to 42 days, including 8 days in Madinah, is priced at PKR 1,065,000 per person for the Southern Region (Karachi, Quetta, Sukkur) and PKR 1,075,000 per person for the Northern Region (other cities).

The Sponsored Hajj Scheme for the Southern Region is priced at $3,765 per person, while the Northern Region is set at $3,800 per person.

For the Short Hajj Package, covering 20 to 25 days, with 3 to 5 days in Madinah, the regular Hajj scheme is priced at PKR 1,140,000 per person for the Southern Region and PKR 1,150,000 per person for the Northern Region.

The Sponsored Hajj Scheme for the Southern Region is set at $4,015 per person, and for the Northern Region, it is $4,050 per person.
