Govt to collect Hajj fees in three installments

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to receive Hajj  package fees  from intending pilgrims in three installments.

The good news for the pilgrims who wish to go to Hajj Baitullah through the government scheme is that it has been decided to introduce a scheme for receiving the Hajj package in installments in the Hajj Policy.

According to Ministry of Religious Affairs sources, Hajj package fees will be collected in three installments instead of one lump sum. Initially Rs 200,000 will be collected along with Hajj request.

After getting the name in the Hajj balloting,  it will be mandatory to pay another Rs 400,000 , while the remaining amount will be received in the second week of February, however, people suffering from various serious diseases will not be able to go for Hajj.

Ministry of Religious Affairs will receive Hajj applications for the government scheme under the new Hajj policy in mid-November.

Under the government scheme, 89,605 pilgrims will go for Hajj, 5,000 of them will go under the sponsorship scheme and the rest will go under the regular scheme.

Minister of Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain will formally announce the Hajj policy next week.

A health policy was prepared for Pakistani Hajj pilgrims according to the conditions of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Saudi Arabia, according to which people undergoing dialysis will be banned from going to Hajj this year.

Govt launches digital app to facilitate Hajj Pilgrims

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Aneeq Ahmed announced that ‘under the digitizing process for Hajj facilities, an app has launched for Hajj pilgrims’.

The minister was addressing to a press conference held at New Haji Camp. He said that, this app will guide the pilgrims from Haj flight to their stay in Saudi Arabia and all other relevant details will be available on the app including videos for the training of pilgrims.

Aneeq Ahmed informed that all the pilgrims will be provided a free single colored QR code suitcase so that they could easily identify their belongings. He said that every pilgrim will be given a mobile SIM of a Saudi company for free which will have 180 minutes for international calls.

The federal minister said that first of all we reduced the price of the official Hajj package by Rs.1 lakh, the cost of air ticket was Rs. 250,000 which was lowered to Rs. 200,000.

While talking about the building of the New Haji Camp the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs said that the building is renovated and a vaccination center has also been established for Hajj pilgrims.

He said that the ‘Interfaith Harmony Conference’ was organized under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs, in which the ambassadors from 30 countries were invited.

Aneeq Ahmed said that ‘Interfaith Harmony Dialogue’ was started in University of Karachi, NED University and Iqra University (Karachi and Islamabad campuses), this discussion was also arranged in St. Patrick’s Church in which Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Hindu, Parsi and Jain scholars participated. ‘We conveyed the message of humanity to the world’, said the minister.

NBP will continue to accept Hajj applications till Dec 12

KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has started accepting applications for Hajj 2024 at all NBP branches from November 27 till December 12, 2023.

In the Long Hajj Package, the regular Hajj scheme, which spans 38 to 42 days, including 8 days in Madinah, is priced at PKR 1,065,000 per person for the Southern Region (Karachi, Quetta, Sukkur) and PKR 1,075,000 per person for the Northern Region (other cities).

The Sponsored Hajj Scheme for the Southern Region is priced at $3,765 per person, while the Northern Region is set at $3,800 per person.

For the Short Hajj Package, covering 20 to 25 days, with 3 to 5 days in Madinah, the regular Hajj scheme is priced at PKR 1,140,000 per person for the Southern Region and PKR 1,150,000 per person for the Northern Region.

The Sponsored Hajj Scheme for the Southern Region is set at $4,015 per person, and for the Northern Region, it is $4,050 per person.
