Kartik Aaryan
  • Kartik Aaryan shared his feelings about his intense work schedule.
  • He admitted that he often feels burned out.
  • He compared his life to a race with no finish line.

Kartik Aaryan recently shared his feelings about his intense work schedule, calling himself a “workaholic x 100.” He admitted that he often feels burned out and that his life seems to revolve entirely around work.

In a candid discussion, he compared his life to a race with no finish line, mentioning he rarely has time to pause and reflect. Interestingly, he sometimes visits malls just to see if fans recognize him.

In an interview with the Indian Express, Kartik looked back on his Bollywood journey, recalling how, during tough times, his only focus was to land his first role. He found success with Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2011, but when that moment came, he realized he didn’t fully enjoy it. Instead of celebrating, he felt stressed about what was next.

Kartik also highlighted one of his happiest moments when someone asked him for a selfie. He would even walk through malls on purpose, saying, “I would in fact walk into a mall deliberately so that people recognise me.”

At 33, he acknowledged the ups and downs of his career, saying he was often labeled the “monologue guy.” While he wishes for more variety in his work, he struggles to find time for self-reflection. He noted, “I haven’t had the chance to sit and back reflect because I am in a race with no finish line.”

Feeling burnt out, he recognized the need for personal time but finds it hard to step away from work. “I think I need time for myself also; I am getting a bit burnt out with this—just constantly been working. But the thing is, I don’t know anything else but work,” he explained.

Kartik has built a strong film career with notable films like Akaash Vani, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Shehzada, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Love Aaj Kal (2020), and Chandu Champion.

Why scientists named newly discovered snake species after Leonardo DiCaprio?

Leonardo DiCaprio
  • A newly discovered snake species is named after Leonardo DiCaprio.
  • The snake is a copper color and has many teeth.
  • DiCaprio’s Himalayan snake measures just 22 inches long.

A newly discovered species of snake in the Western Himalayas has been named after actor Leonardo DiCaprio. This species, known as Anguiculus dicaprioi or DiCaprio’s Himalayan snake, was detailed in a study published in the journal Nature on October 21.

The snake is a copper color and has many teeth. Scientists found that it is a new species after analyzing its DNA, even though it shares some features with other snakes. Researchers decided to name the snake after DiCaprio, 49, because he is a well-known actor and environmentalist who raises awareness about climate change and biodiversity loss.

DiCaprio’s Himalayan snake measures just 22 inches long and has a short head, large nostrils, and a steeply domed snout. It also has a faint gray band around its neck that looks like a collar. The snake was discovered basking on a muddy surface and did not try to bite when captured. Experts believe it can live at elevations up to 6,100 feet.

Scientists first spotted this snake in 2020, and it has only been found in Nepal and the Himachal Pradesh region of India. DiCaprio has been passionate about environmental issues since he was young. He once told People, “At a young age, I was very saddened by species that had become extinct by the result of man-made activity.” In 1998, he started the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, which supports many conservation projects worldwide.

Selena Gomez mistakenly calls executive director “Diddy” at charity event

Selena Gomez
  • Selena Gomez had an awkward slip at a charity event.
  • She mistakenly referred to the executive director as “Diddy.
  • She confused the names while introducing the executive director.

Hollywood and the music industry are navigating a delicate situation regarding disgraced rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs. Recently, pop star Selena Gomez had an awkward slip of the tongue at a charity event in Los Angeles that she may wish to forget.

While enthusiastically discussing her collaboration with Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, the 32-year-old mistakenly referred to the executive director as “Diddy.”

On October 24, Gomez took the stage at the Rare Impact Fund Benefit at NYA Studios West, captivating attendees in a striking black couture dress. During her speech, she emphasized the charity’s mission to address youth suicide. “I am very honored to be working with such incredible change-makers,” Gomez stated, according to footage from TMZ.

However, while introducing the executive director, she confused the names, saying, “So please join me in welcoming executive director Diddy —,” before quickly realizing her mistake. “‘Diddy,’ sorry,” she joked, prompting laughter from the audience. One attendee filming the speech quipped, “Not Diddy!”

Gomez corrected herself, saying “Didi Hirsch,” and added with an awkward smile, “I really am sorry,” before inviting executive Lyn Morris to the stage. Social media responses were mixed, with one user commenting, “Oh my god, she looks mortified.”

As Diddy’s legal troubles deepen—he currently faces charges including sex trafficking and racketeering—old footage of him with Selena Gomez’s ex, Justin Bieber, has begun to resurface, although Bieber has yet to comment on the situation.

AR Rahman speaks against rising trend of song remixes and reimaginations

AR Rahman
  • AR Rahman spoke against the increasing trend of song remixes.
  • He expressed strong disapproval of this practice.
  • Rahman believes reimagined songs should not be commercialized.

Composer AR Rahman has taken a firm stance against the increasing trend of song remixes and “reimaginations.” In a recent interview, he expressed strong disapproval of this practice and highlighted the potential dangers of using artificial intelligence (AI) in the music industry.

While remixing has been a part of Hindi music since the late ’90s, Rahman noted that it has evolved in recent years, with songs as recent as five to six years old being reworked. He stated, “You can’t take a song from a movie and use it in another movie six years later, saying you are reimagining it,” emphasizing the need for respect toward original works.

Rahman believes that while reimagined songs can be shared on social media, they should not be commercialized. He remarked, “You can’t reimagine people’s work without their permission. You could post it on Instagram, but certainly not make it mainstream.” He has personally encountered this trend, most notably with his 1995 classic “Humma Humma,” which was remixed as “The Humma Song” in the 2017 film OK Jaanu. Ironically, although he composed the score for the film, he was not involved in the remix process.

Beyond remixing, Rahman raised alarms about AI’s role in music, labeling it as “evil.” He warned, “An even bigger evil is people misusing AI and not paying the composer even if they are borrowing his style. We need to bell this cat because it could lead to major ethical issues. People could lose jobs.” Recently, Rahman scored for the Tamil film Raayan and Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila, with upcoming projects including Chhava and Thug Life.
