LAHORE: In order to provide best facilities to its passengers, Pakistan Railways has decided to run 22 trains under Public Private Partnership (PPP).
In the meeting chaired by Chief Executive Pakistan Railways Aamir Ali Baloch, it was decided to run the trains under public-private partnership to provide better facilities to the passengers and stabilize the railway revenue.
According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Railways, Karakoram, Karachi, Awam Express, Green Line, Maher, Chenab, Saman Sarkar and Mohenjo Daro passenger trains will be operated under Public Private Partnership.
Similarly, Pak Business, Bolan Mail, Thal, Sukkur Express, Marvi, Chaman and Hazara Express will also run through private partnership.
The spokesperson said Shalimar, Bahauddin Zakaria, Kohat, Mehran, Attock, Jand and Rawalpindi passenger trains will also be run under public private partnership.
Chief Executive Pakistan Railways Aamir Ali Baloch said that the railway wants to provide the best facilities to its passengers, that is why it has been decided to run the trains through public-private partnership.
