Late Naya Rivera honoured by Netflix in series ‘Sugar Rush’

Late American actor Naya Rivera will be making a final TV appearance posthumously through Netflix’s baking reality series Sugar Rush.

According to reports, Naya Rivera will be getting the episode dedicated to her, as planned by streaming giant Netflix and the star’s manager.

The special episode will honour Rivera “with an on-screen note honouring the actress appearing before the opening credits.”

Rivera will be making an appearance on the third episode of the show which features four teams of two fighting for a prize of $10,000.

The Glee star star had filmed the episode back in February, five months prior to her death.

Rivera’s body was found on July 13, 2020, a week after she went missing from Lake Piru following a boat ride with her four-year-old son Josey.

Canada has extended travel ban on most foreign travelers from entering the country and launched a new contact tracing app to curb the ‘gate-crashing’ coronavirus pandemic.

The travel ban extends till August 31, not allowing foreign travelers entering Canada from outside the United States. It came despite calls from Air Canada and some European aviation companies for Ottawa to restore safe travel.

Canada has a separate agreement for border crossings with the United States. The two countries earlier this month agreed to extend restrictions on non-essential travel.

COVID-19: US detects over 60,000 cases for the fifth consecutive day

The United States (US) detected over 60,000 COVID-19 cases for the fifth consecutive day as the World Health Organization (WHO) warned that the pandemic would be lengthy.

The US counted 61,262 new coronavirus cases in the 24 hours, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

There were also 1,051 deaths in past 24 hours.

The US has now tallied more than 4.6 million cases and 154,319 deaths, making it the hardest-hit country in the world.
