Shah Rukh Khan reflects on his love for Tamil cinema, talks about Dil Se shoot

The release of Jawan, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara, is eagerly anticipated by fans. One of the most eagerly awaited movies of 2023 is this one. Since the day it was announced, Atlee’s film has been making news. The Jawan team held a large audio launch event in Chennai on August 30 in advance of its release. Along with Shah Rukh, other actors including Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Yogi Babu, Sanya Malhotra, and Anirudh also attended the occasion. Shah Rukh spoke about the filming of Dil Se and the moment he fell in love with Tamil cinema during the event.

Shah Rukh Khan attended the Jawan Audio Launch ceremony at Sai Ram Engineering College in Chennai on August 30. King Khan spoke candidly about the making of his movie Dil Se, as well as his love for Tamil cinema, during the occasion.

SRK recalled the moment when he first developed a love for Tamil films and added, “Quickly I tell you how I started developing a love for Tamil movies. I realized very early on that Tamil Nadu is home to some of the best films, and I was fortunate to befriend Mani Ratnam and Mr. Santosh Sivan.

The actor continued, “I came down here and shot Dil Se, which was my first experience with a Tamil film, and of course (making steps of Chaiyya Chaiyya) ‘chal chaiyya chaiyya’ then I got to know wonderful Mr. Kamal Haasan and I worked with him, for him in a film called Hey Ram, and that was the first and last time I have ever spoken Tamil because I spoken Tamil in that film. The greatest of them all, Rajinikanth, later became my friend by visiting one night and acting in one scene for my movie Ravan.

Shah Rukh added, “I genuinely have never attended a celebration for a film like this in my life. Thank you, Tamil film industry. I want to thank all the college students who have traveled from afar. I’d like to express my gratitude to Tamil Nadu’s exceptional, world-class filmmakers and entire film industry for having me here.”

Meanwhile, Atlee co-wrote and directed the action-thriller movie Jawan. The movie is scheduled to premiere on September 7.

Kalki 2898 AD, formerly known as Project K, has achieved an extraordinary milestone by becoming the first-ever Indian film to debut at the prestigious San Diego Comic-Con. The film’s production company, Vyjayanthi Movies, recently released a captivating video that chronicles the incredible journey of Kalki 2898 AD from its early stages as Project K to its triumphant global debut.

The short but emotionally charged video captures the essence of the moment, bringing the audience up close and personal with the euphoria felt by fans during the film’s premiere at Comic-Con. Although Amitabh Bachchan couldn’t physically attend the event, he joined the team via Zoom, adding to the excitement.

Present at the momentous event were the film’s stars, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, and Rana Daggubati, alongside director Nag Ashwin. However, Deepika Padukone, a key member of the cast, chose to skip the occasion.

One of the most heartfelt moments in the video came from producer Aswani Dutt, who expressed his emotions saying, “It took 50 years of my hard work to reach Amitji, Kamalji, and my friend Prabhas.” He affectionately patted Prabhas’ back while mentioning his name, leaving the audience cheering and clapping in appreciation.

The overwhelming response from the fans led to the teaser being played again, as the audience chanted for an encore. This video stands as a testament to the undeniable success of Kalki 2898 AD, making the entire country proud of this remarkable achievement.

The ambitious directorial venture of Nag Ashwin aims high, and with the unwavering support of the audience, it is expected to receive a similar reception upon its release. The film’s producers, C Aswani Dutt, Swapna Dutt, and Priyanka Dutt, basked in the glory of this milestone, celebrating the culmination of their hard work and dedication.

Kalki 2898 AD has indeed etched its name in history, making Indian cinema shine on a global stage. With its promising vision and boundless ambition, the film is poised to leave a lasting impact on audiences worldwide. At a recent wedding they attended with Kamal Haasan, Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Mohanlal, and other famous people, Prithviraj Sukumaran posted a candid photo of himself with Aamir Khan. According to reports, the Malayalam actor and Aamir both wore cultural attire at the son of K Madhavan, head of The Walt Disney Company India and Star India, wedding festivities in Jaipur.

The recent wedding photo that Prithviraj Sukumaran posted on Instagram with Aamir on Wednesday was captioned, “Inspiration, idol. Mr. Aamir Khan He embellished his caption with a red heart emoji. Aamir and Prithviraj can be seen laughing in the photo while he is seated on a chair in front of them. Aamir sported a cream ethnic outfit, while Prithviraj was clad in a grey and gold kurta. A follower responded to his caption by writing, “Really???” on Prithviraj’s post. I believe that you inspire him because of how deeply rooted you are. “You are an inspiration for Bollywood,” one person remarked to Prithviraj.

 

In some of the wedding images that were posted on social media, Aamir stood out while sporting a walking stick while wearing a cream kurta with mundu (a cloth worn around the waist, primarily in south India). In response to his photos on Reddit, someone wrote: “How did Aamir Khan’s leg fare? He uses a walking staff, but why?” Another person mentioned how the actor has been seen at numerous weddings all around the nation. He noted: “These days, Aamir Khan attends a lot of weddings. If these are paid appearances, I wonder. He might be attempting to recoup some of the damages suffered by Lal Singh Chaddha (2022).”

Prior to that, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani’s opulent Jaisalmer wedding was also attended by Prithviraj and his wife Supriya. In a photograph taken during the wedding festivities, the actor posed with director Karan Johar. For a wedding party that Sidharth and Kiara hosted, Prithviraj wore a white sherwani, while Supriya wore an orange lehenga. For the festivities, Karan wore a black and yellow ethnic ensemble.

The attire donned by Akshay and Karan Johar piqued the interest of many other Redditors as well. Karan donned a white kurta with a dupatta, while Akshay wore a cream kurta with a pattern. A comment on the images posted by Bolly Blinds N Gossip said, “This is the most solemn I have seen KJo (Karan Johar) dress in a very long time.” Also mentioned was Karan’s current trend of receiving numerous wedding invitations. “Karan has to be overjoyed. He has been asked to every wedding. At least he won’t complain about it on the upcoming KWK.” Season 7 of Koffee With Karan’s 2022 episode had presenter Karan talking about how Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal for their 2021 wedding turned out to be very embarrassing for him.

Akshay Kumar and Kamal Haasan may be seen conversing in a social media video from the recent Jaipur wedding celebration. However, a video of Akshay and Mohanlal’s bhangra was among the festivities’ highlights. Akshay Kumar posted the video on Instagram and included the hashtag #mohanlal “I’ll never forget this dance we did with Mohanlal Sir. Definitely an unforgettable occasion.”

Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil headlined Vikram. Shruti and Kamal filming together? “We had started a project but it didn’t come to completion. We started a film called Sabaash Naidu, and that was ages back. We never picked up from there. So it totally depends on the story, and maybe who sees us together in that capacity. Be it either my mom (Sarika) and me, or my sister (Akshara Haasan) or my dad. So it has to work for everyone I think,” said Shruti.
