Prabhas‘ film “Salaar Part 1 Ceasefire,” originally scheduled for release on September 28, will not be hitting screens as planned. The filmmakers have issued an official statement, acknowledging the postponement and expressing their apologies for the delay. They assured fans that the new release date would be announced soon and shared insights into the ongoing final touches for “Salaar.” In their statement on Twitter, they said, “We deeply appreciate your unwavering support for #Salaar. With consideration, we must delay the original September 28 release due to unforeseen circumstances. Please understand this decision is made with care, as we’re committed to delivering an exceptional cinematic experience. Our team is working tirelessly to meet the highest standards. The new release date will be revealed in due course. Stay with us as we make the final touches on #SalaarCeaseFire and thank you for being a part of this incredible journey.”

Although the new release date has not been officially disclosed, there is speculation that “Salaar Part 1 Ceasefire” may aim for a release coinciding with major festivals like Diwali or Sankranti. Sources suggest November as a potential release month, with December and January as backup options. However, an official confirmation is pending.

The decision to postpone the release was driven by the need for additional post-production work. Reportedly, the director was dissatisfied with the quality of CG work and chose to delay the release to ensure a superior final product. Consequently, Ram Pothineni’s “Skanda” has taken over the September 28 release slot.

In “Salaar Part 1 Ceasefire,” Prabhas assumes the role of the titular character, joined by a star-studded cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu. The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, featuring music by Ravi Basrur and cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda.

The teaser also introduces Malayalam actor-filmmaker, Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The highly anticipated action thriller, Salaar, marks the first-ever collaboration between pan-Indian star Prabhas and celebrated filmmaker Prashanth Neel. After much anticipation, the makers have finally unveiled the long-awaited Salaar teaser on social media. Released at 5:12 AM today (July 6, Thursday), the teaser has taken both Prabhas fans and film enthusiasts by storm.

The 1-minute and 46 seconds teaser offers a glimpse into the visually stunning and action-packed spectacle that awaits the audience. It opens with actor-director Tinnu Anand as the narrator, surrounded by a group of menacing foreign gangsters armed with weapons. Undeterred, Anand’s character issues a chilling warning, hinting at the imminent danger they are about to face.

Simultaneously, the teaser introduces Prabhas’ character against the backdrop of an industrial area, reminiscent of Prashanth Neel’s previous blockbuster, the KGF franchise. With a rugged appearance, donning a grey t-shirt and dark grey trousers, Prabhas exudes a fierce and ruthless aura while wielding weapons and bearing the marks of his battles.

The teaser also introduces Malayalam actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran as Varadaraja Mannaar, a pivotal character in the film. Sitting on his throne, Prithviraj’s character portrays inner turmoil, hinting at the complexities to come. Clad in a striking black outfit and adorned with heavy silver jewelry, Prithviraj captivates with his never-seen-before avatar.

Towards the end, the teaser confirms that Salaar will be released in multiple parts, with the first installment titled “Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire.” The film also features Shruti Haasan as the female lead, marking her first collaboration with Prabhas. Jagapathi Babu appears as Raja Mannaar, Varadaraja Mannaar’s father, while Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Garuda Ram, and Madhu Guruswamy portray supporting roles.

Fans demand on Salaar’s teaser after the director shared a BTS

The cinematographer for Salaar posted a BTS image from the set of the Prabhas-starring film, which has enthused his followers. They requested an update on the Telugu movie’s teaser, which was helmed by Prashanth Neel of KGF fame. Prashanth Neel, known for his work on the KGF, is directing Prabhas in Salaar, which is now under production. Prabhas fans are thrilled as the movie’s cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda shared a BTS photo from the shoot. Many of them wanted an update on the Salaar teaser in the comments section of his post. Salaar, which is rumored to be a remake of the Kannada film Ugramm, marks Prashanth and Prabhas’ first collaboration after the wildly successful KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2 films.

On Wednesday, Bhuvan took to Twitter and shared a picture from Salaar set. He wrote along with it, “Shoot in progress Salaar”. Reacting to the photo from set, several excited fans wanted an update on the film’s teaser. One user wrote, “Brother, please share when we can expect the teaser (sic).” Another Twitter user wrote, “Looks like lot of night shoot is happening. Please release the teaser soon (sic).

Shruti Haasan and Prabhas will be seen onscreen together for the first time in Salaar. The movie, which is expected to be an action saga, stars Prabhas as Salaar, the main character. Fans couldn’t contain their enthusiasm when a leaked still from the sets, in which Prabhas can be seen lighting a cigarette, went popular on social media in April.

Anil Thadani will present Salaar, which will be subtitled and distributed in Hindi. On Twitter in August of last year, Prashanth announced that Salaar would be released in theatres all around the world on September 28, 2023. A poster was used to announce the release date. The team received praise from the public for publicising the release date a year in advance.

Prabhas is depicted standing with two swords in the poster. In the distance are visible dead bodies. Prithviraj Sukumaran and Sriya Reddy, who was most recently seen in Prime Video’s Suzhal, are also confirmed to be a part of the film by Prashanth’s tweet. About 30% of the Salaar shot has already been done, Neel said during last year’s KGF: Chapter 2 promotional events.

In addition, Prabhas is occupied with the filming of his upcoming, multilingual movie Project K under the direction of Nag Ashwin. With this film, Deepika Padukone makes her Telugu debut, and Vyjayanthi Films is funding it. Amitabh Bachchan plays a significant role in the movie as well.
