ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi said for Pakistan, a big leap in digital technology was important to directly improve its economy and make progress in public service delivery.

The president stressed that by leveraging digital technology, the country could explore advanced avenues of business in the revolutionalized world.

Addressing here at a seminar on ‘Digital System for public Welfare: weaknesses and remedies’, the president said Pakistan needed to make early decisions in technology and keep pace with the fast-changing world.

He said the country needed a “full-throttle acceleration” on expanding digitalization in areas of public service delivery, including online banking.

Lauding the talent of the nation, he said the country was “standing on the gold mine of people”.

He said learning knowledge about FinTech (financial technology) and artificial intelligence could prove as a catalyst to progress. He said taking initiative in learning and getting the edge in technology was of foremost importance.

In this regard, he emphasized working on intellectual ideas and early decisions on implementing digitalization strategy in diverse areas.

President Alvi, however, stressed that besides digitalization, the stakeholders needed to guide the consumers not to fall victim to online scams.

He said scams could not be averted completely, however, their proportion to the delivery of services was important.

He emphasized controlling online scams and frauds through continuous effort, including targeted messaging.

He highlighted how effectively the 130 million targeted cellular texts on early prevention of breast cancer successfully relayed a powerful message among the general public.

The president said the people had already adopted cell phone technology, and there was a need to guide them about the benefits of advanced technology.

President Alvi recalled how the Covid-19 pandemic forced the nation to engage in e-learning and in various online projects.

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has called for making preventive efforts to reduce the burden and risk of diseases in the country.

He said that Pakistan’s health sector could not afford to cater to the needs of over 220 million population, adding that it was essential to focus on the prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases.

The President expressed these views while talking to the medical students of Azad Jammu Kashmir Medical College, Muzaffarabad (AJKMC), who called on him, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Welcoming the students, the President stated that the world was changing very fast and the education system of the country needed to adapt itself to the changing circumstances by focusing on improving the analytical abilities of the students. He added that students should improve their IT skills as IT was going to have vast applications in every profession of life.

Highlighting the importance of the nursing profession, the President said that the nursing profession had great significance and scope and the country needed to increase the number of nursing and paramedical staff. He remarked that Pakistan was facing a shortage of nurses as it required 900,000 nurses whereas only 200,000 nurses were working in the country at present who were unable to cater to the health needs of the growing population.

Underscoring the importance of education, the President said that progress could not be achieved without proper education, adding that the students should work hard and continue their profession to serve humanity.

The President also reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to continue its moral and diplomatic support to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) till the achievement of their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolutions.

He emphasized that the international media needed to highlight the atrocities being committed by the Indian security forces in IIOJK.

He mentioned that Pakistan had been raising the Jammu and Kashmir Dispute at every international forum to expose the real face of India which had been involved in gross human rights violations and persecution of Muslims and other minorities.

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has asked the students to enhance their intellectual abilities and play their role in the development of the country.

He said that it was essential to improve intellectual resources as well as IT knowledge and skills to help address the socio-economic challenges being faced by the country.

The President expressed these views while talking to the students and staff of the Cadet College, Jaffarabad, Balochistan, who called on him, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Highlighting the importance of education, the President stated that nations had achieved progress by focusing on science and education.

He regretted that 22 million children were out of school whereas the countries in the region had achieved almost 100% primary enrolment rate, adding that tangible and immediate steps needed to be taken to bring these children into schools. He also underlined the need to equip the youth with skills and education to improve the economic health of the country.

The President said that Pakistan had great potential in terms of both its natural and human resources that needed to be fully harnessed for the uplift of the country.

He said that Balochistan was rich in natural resources and steps were being taken to bring the province at par with other provinces. He emphasized the need for constructing dams and water storage to mitigate the impacts of floods and natural calamities.

The President also called upon the college management to train students in emerging technologies like the Internet of Things, Robotics, Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence, which had vast applications in every sphere of life. He urged the students to focus on their studies and contribute towards the development of Pakistan.

KARACHI: President Dr Arif Alvi on Friday stressed an inclusive approach towards the persons with disabilities in all areas of life particularly education to help them make active members of society.

Except for a few mental disorders, he said, the system should accommodate the differently-abled children in regular schools and provide tailor-made jobs to them in accordance with their skill set.

Addressing the 5th Cerebral Palsy Conference here at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), he said physically and mentally challenged children needed care and empathy from the society and also the readiness to accept them as any other child.

Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders that affect a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture.

President Alvi said the persons with physical, visual and hearing impairment had the same intellectual capacity as other people and thus needed support by the society to help them function better.

The president emphasized raising awareness in the society to be empathetic towards the persons with physical and mental weaknesses.

He regretted that the children with cerebral palsy are often stereotyped and called for shunning taboos affiliated with them.

He mentioned that First Lady Samina Alvi through awareness campaigns put her best efforts in highlighting the cause of persons with disability besides stressing facilities for them at public places.

President Alvi said training of doctors was very important for taking curative measures, adding that good professional training with the help of technology could help the health experts play their due role in mainstreaming the persons with disabilities.

The president recalled that the country’s visually-impaired diplomat Saima Saleem effectively represented Pakistan at the United Nations and delivered a speech using braille.

He also laid focus on preventive treatment to reduce rate of malnutrition, stunting and maternal mortality. In this regard, he said, educating the masses and the role of midwives was important.

President Pakistan Academy of Cerebral Palsy Professor Javaid Iqbal said cerebral palsy affects two out of 1,000 children and causes multiple physical, mental and other problems.

Executive Director PIMS Muhammad Naeem Malik said PIMS since its inception was providing treatment to the people and approximately one million people annually get treatment in the hospital.

RAWALPINDI: President Dr Arif Alvi stressed upon further enhancement of effective and efficient role of lady health workers and midwives which would help reduce the pregnancy related complications.

The president observed that so far lady health workers had access to 37 percent of the population of the country which was required to be increased.

The president was addressing the inauguration ceremony of Behbud Maternal and Children Hospital.

He said that there were no two opinions that provision of education and health were the responsibility of the state and urged other stakeholders to come forward and share their responsibility in this regard as well.

The president underlined that once society and economy had flourished, the focus was diverted to public health through different mediums, including the health insurance.

Those nations excelled which had focused on the key sectors of education and health, he added.

The president also expressed his concerns over the mortality rate during the birth and said that desired steps had been taken across the globe in this regard.

The president appreciated the role of Behbud Association which had been striving for women’s empowerment, and promotion of education, health, handicrafts and culture at the national level.

The president opined that the Islamic society had accorded due significance to the role of women as they groomed the future generations.

He also mentioned the efforts of First Lady Begum Samina Alvi for women empowerment, rights of the people with disabilities and imparting of education to the out of school children.

The president lauded the passion of charity in the Pakistani nation which would be further enhanced with the active participation of different segments of society.

He said that the inclusion of nutrition package under the Benazir Income Support Programme and Ehasas Programme was a laudable step which would help overcome malnutrition issue among the children.

He also expressed his satisfaction that due to the effective breast cancer awareness campaign positive outcome had been felt as the large number of women were consulting doctors during the first stage of the disease.

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has called for joint efforts by all stakeholders, including the federal and provincial governments, community and health professionals to work for the prevention and treatment of mental health disorders.

He said that it was a matter of serious concern that 24 percent of the country’s population was suffering from mental health related issues whereas only 500-600 mental health professionals were available in the country to cater to the needs of this population.

He emphasized the need for increasing the number of mental health professionals, besides strengthening the capacity of general health professionals by training them to address the challenge of rising mental health disorders.

The President expressed these views while chairing a meeting on mental health through the video link. President of Pakistani American Psychiatric Association of North America (PAPANA), Dr Muhammad Zeeshan, representatives of the National Commission of Human Rights, World Health Organization, Pakistan Psychological Association, Pakistan Psychiatric Society, Taskeen Health Initiative, and Ministry of National Health Services attended the meeting.

The participants gave various suggestions to cope with the challenge of mental issues. The meeting emphasized the need for raising awareness about the diseases, educating people about mental health, eliminating the stigma attached to it, and providing quality counselling and treatment to mental health patients.

The participants also called for the capacity building and training of health professionals in Pakistan, adding that a central coordinating mechanism among various stakeholders was also essential to avoid duplication of efforts. The meeting also underscored the need for developing a national autism plan.

Prof Dr Rizwan Taj from PIMS informed the meeting that the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination had established an autism center at PIMS, adding that it would be a role model for provinces and other hospitals to follow.

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has called for improving Pakistan-Kazakhstan trade and economic relations, adding that both countries had great scope to expand cooperation in the areas of trade and economy.

He pointed out that the potential of trade between the two brotherly countries was much greater than the current level of bilateral trade, and there was a clear need to explore new avenues to boost bilateral trade for the mutual benefit of the two countries.

The President said that the potential for enhancing trade in the fields of agriculture and agro-products needed to be materialized, adding that maximum facilitation to investors from Kazakhstan should be provided to establish their businesses, in the already established Special Economic Zones across Pakistan.

He expressed these views while talking to Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Kazakhstan, Nauman Bashir Bhatti, who called on him, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Talking to the Ambassador, the President said that Pakistan attached great importance to its ties with Kazakhstan as both the brotherly countries shared historical and cultural bonds. He further stated that Pakistan was committed to build sustainable and result-oriented relations with the Central Asian Republic (CARs) under its “Vision Central Asia” policy, and enhancing regional connectivity with CARs constituted a pivotal part of Pakistan’s policy towards the region. He also stressed the need to keep up the momentum in taking forward regional connectivity initiatives with Kazakhstan, such as Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran (KTI) railway link.

While emphasising the need to enhance people-to-people contacts with Kazakhstan, the President called for increasing cooperation in the field of higher education through joint degrees, and student and faculty exchange programmes. He said that the Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) was offering online education, which was cost-effective and students from Kazakhstan could benefit from it.

The President asked the Ambassador-designate to convey his gratitude to the Government and the people of Kazakhstan for their generous assistance to the flood-affected people of Pakistan.

The President asked the Ambassador to highlight the anti-Muslim and anti-minority policies of India, particularly the atrocities and human rights violations being committed by the Indian Occupation Forces against the Muslim population of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

ISLAMABAD:  President Dr Arif Alvi termed as ‘alarming’ the country’s 22.8 million children not attending schools and said the challenge needed broad-based efforts, both at the government and individual levels.

The president said the serious situation meant half of the child population aged five to 16 was at risk of engaging in labour or begging.

Addressing a seminar on out-of-school children in Pakistan, the president said education was the right of every child guaranteed by the religion and the country’s constitution.

The seminar organized by the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS) and Pakistan Teachers Forum (PTF) discussed the issues and way forward to address the challenge of out-of-school children.

President Alvi pointed out that with only 68 percent of children in the category of primary education, the country lagged far behind the other South Asian nations including 100 percent in India, 99 percent in Sri Lanka and 98 percent in Bangladesh.

He stressed that it was the collective responsibility of the government, legislators, elite, civil society and the general public to take steps at their ends for the promotion of education.

In this regard, he called for setting priorities and taking effective decisions on the policies relating to matters of public interest.

Dr Alvi said incentives such as school feeding programmes for students and disbursement of cash to the parents on their children’s attendance could encourage the underprivileged population to get education.

The president stressed equal opportunities for girls and women to acquire education at par with their male counterparts.

Federal Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training Amir Ashraf Khawaja said the economy had a significant link with education and pointed out that lack of investment in education, health and agriculture resulted in a big lag in development for the country.

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has called for highlighting the grave human rights violations and heinous crimes being committed by the Indian Security Forces in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) against the people of IIOJK.

He underscored that the atrocities being committed by the Indian Security Forces needed to be highlighted and raised at all fora so as to expose the real face of India.

The President expressed these views while talking to a delegation of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (J&K), led by Mahmood Ahmad Sagar, which called on him, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Welcoming the delegation, the President reiterated that Pakistan would continue to support the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the right to self-determination. He said that the people of Pakistan stood with their Kashmiri brethren and Pakistan would continue to extend all possible moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmir people in their just struggle for self-determination.

He highlighted that India was trying to speed up the process of demographic changes through various measures such as issuing over 4.5 million domiciles to non-Kashmiris for settling them in IIOJK and putting up their land for sale to non-Kashmiris.

The President stated that India was involved in the ethnic cleansing of Muslims, adding that as per Genocide Watch, IIOJK was on the brink of genocide. He also referred to the reports by the UN Human Rights Office that called for the establishment of a Commission of Inquiry to investigate human rights violations in IIOJK.

The Hurriyet leadership from the IIOJK apprised the President about the current situation in the valley. It was informed that 600,000 Kashmiris had been martyred so far at the hands of the Indian Occupation Forces, and thousands of houses had been burnt and destroyed.

It was stated that IIOJK had been held hostage at the hands of 900,000 Indian Occupation Forces which had imposed an unprecedented military siege and restriction on the fundamental rights and freedoms of the Kashmiri people.

It was also highlighted that Kashmiri leadership had been incarcerated, and extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests and torture of the Kashmiri youth had become a norm in IIOJK.

ECP responds to another letter of President

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has responded to another letter of President Dr. Arif Alvi.

According to the details, the meeting of the Election Commission regarding the elections of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab will be held on February 20.

The Election Commission wrote in its reply that ECP cannot participate in the consultation with the President, the final decision to participate in the consultation will be made in the meeting on Monday.

The Secretary has sent the reply from the Election Commission to the President.

The President called the Election Commission for consultation under Section 57 of the Election Act.

In response, the Election Commission also said that the ECP cannot fix the date of election by itself, according to the constitution, the poll day of the provincial assembly will be given by the governor.

Dr Arif Alvi paid tribute to the Police and Rangers for bravely fighting against terrorists for the sake of the country.

The President prayed for the speedy recovery of all those injured in the police office attack.

On the other hand, President Dr Arif Alvi strongly condemned the terror attack and prayed for the early recovery of the injured. He said the whole nation stood with the security forces in the fight against terrorism.

He said efforts would continue till the complete elimination of the menace of terrorism.

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has invited the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Pakistan Sikandar Sultan Raja, for an urgent meeting on February  20, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, for consultation in terms of Section 57(1) of Elections Act, 2017, that provides that the President shall announce the date or dates of the general elections after consultation with the Commission (ECP).

In his letter to the CEC, the President said that since his letter dated February 08, some substantial developments (e.g., the Judgment of the Lahore High Court and recent observations of the Supreme Court) had taken place.

He expressed displeasure over the apathy and inaction on the part of the Commission that didn’t respond to his earlier letter as yet. The President stated that he had waited anxiously that the Commission would realize its constitutional duties to proceed and act accordingly, but he was extremely dismayed by ECP’s poignant approach on this important matter.

KARACHI: President Dr Arif Alvi has called for bringing over 20 million out-of-school children back to schools and providing them with opportunities to grow and excel in life.

He regretted that about 10% of Pakistan’s population had been deprived of their fundamental right, which was a great loss to the nation.

The President said that the youth and the elite had the resources and the capacity to help and uplift this neglected segment of society, adding that it was the moral responsibility of the educated youth and the elites to support these underprivileged children in getting education to make them productive and responsible citizens of the country.

The President expressed these views while addressing the 20th Convocation Ceremony of Iqra University, held in Karachi, on Thursday. Naveed Lakhani, the Chairman of Hussain Lakhani Group, Ms Erum Asad, the Vice Chancellor of Iqra University, the alumni, the faculty members, and the parents of graduating students were present at the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, the President said that health and education were the essential foundations for the nation’s socio-economic development, and urged Pakistani universities to equip their students with employable skills, developing their analytical and critical thinking abilities to help them succeed in their personal and professional lives.

The President urged the students to follow the path of unity, faith, and discipline as propounded by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah during their academic as well as professional life. He said that students must focus on improving their dealings with fellow humans in society and fulfilling the “Huqooq ul Ibad”, besides developing effective communication skills in order to become successful in life.

The President urged the students to become lifelong learners and keep updating their knowledge and skills to keep pace with the rapidly changing world. He said that Pakistan had great expectations from its youth, and they needed to work for the socio-economic uplift of their country. He highlighted the need for adopting emerging technologies and modern education to put the country on the fast track of development.

The President said that approximately 60% to 80% of the youth in colleges were under mental stress, and advised the youth to live a balanced life and take care of their physical as well as mental health and well-being.

ISLAMABAD:  President Dr Arif Alvi, in a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), has asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to immediately announce the date of elections for provincial assemblies as per Elections Act, 2017 by issuing the election schedule for provincial assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to put an end to dangerous speculative propaganda for the upcoming provincial elections in Punjab and KP as well as the future general elections.

In his letter to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), the President referred to the dissolution of the provincial assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that the election of an Assembly is to be held within 90 days of the dissolution as provided by the Article 224(2) of the Constitution which emphasized the holding of election in 90 days.

He added that the conduct and holding of elections was the primary and essential duty of the ECP as per PART VIII of the Constitution, particularly Article 218 (3) which assigned the duty to the ECP to ensure the holding of fair and free elections.

Referring to Article 42 and Third Schedule, the President stressed that he was under oath ‘to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution’ being the Head of State. He reminded CEC and the Members of the ECP about their fundamental duty as per their Oath under Article 214 and Third Schedule of the Constitution that says ‘I will discharge my duties……faithfully in accordance with the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan’ and the Elections Act, 2017 to avoid serious consequences of breach/violation of the Constitution/law and announce election schedule of the two dissolved Assemblies forthwith.

Highlighting the significance of the Preamble/Objectives Resolution, the President said that the Preamble stated in unambiguous words that ‘the State shall exercise its power and authority through the chosen representatives of the people’.

The President emphasized that the oldest democracies had never delayed elections even during wars. He said that the Commission itself had already taken an appropriate constitutional step and had announced the holding of bye-elections of National Assembly seats of different constituencies.

ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed grief over the death of former president Pervez Musharraf.

While expressing his condolences to the heirs of former president Pervez Musharraf, the President Arif Alvi prayed for forgiveness for the late president and also prayed for patience for the heirs.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif while expressing sorrow over the death of former army chief Pervez Musharraf said that he expresses his condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased.

Shehbaz Sharif also prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and patience for the family.

Apart from this, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi has also expressed his grief over the death of Pervez Musharraf.

According to the Spokesperson of Pakistan Navy, the Naval Chief prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the deceased.

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have said that India is mistaken if it believes it could crush the iron will of the Kashmiri people.

President Dr Arif Alvi said that Pakistan consistently maintained that a lasting solution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute was possible only in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions and wishes of the Kashmiri people.

“Pakistan also urges the international community and organizations to take practical steps to hold India accountable for its gross and widespread human rights violations in IIOJK,” the president said in a message on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day being observed on February 5.

“We observe this day to draw the attention of the international community towards the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions which provide that the final disposition of the Jammu and Kashmir Dispute would be made in accordance with the will of the people, expressed through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite conducted under the auspices of the United Nations,” he stressed.

On other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the Jammu and Kashmir dispute was one of the oldest, unresolved items on the agenda of the United Nations.

Over the last seventy-five years, India had continued its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and suppressed its people, he said, adding thousands of Kashmiris have sacrificed their lives and suffered countless atrocities at the hands of the Indian occupation forces.

The already bad situation took a turn for the worst following India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019. These illegal and unilateral steps had been rejected by Pakistan and the Kashmiris, the prime minister maintained.

He further said the human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) remained a source of grave concern to Pakistan and the rest of the world.

“India has brazenly targeted Kashmiri men, women and children through curfews, blackouts, arbitrary detention, imprisonment, and denial of basic rights,” he said, adding the popular Kashmiri political leadership had been illegally detained or deliberately victimized through fictitious cases.

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has called upon the Ulema and Mashaikh of the country to play their role in bringing positive social change, discouraging extremism, terrorism, and sectarianism, inculcating ethical and moral values in society, promoting the conservation of resources, national solidarity, religious tolerance, and inter-faith harmony and peace.

The President expressed these views while talking to a delegation of the Ulema Mashaikh Yakjehti Council of Pakistan (UMYC), that called on him, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, on Wednesday.

Talking to the delegation, the President urged Ulema to play their role to eliminate extremism, terrorism and sectarianism by highlighting the true teachings of Islam in the light of the Quran, Sunnah and Ahadith of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He said that the challenges of terrorism and militancy in Pakistan required a comprehensive action plan coupled with concerted efforts on the part of the Ulema in the areas of counter-extremism and counter-terrorism.

The President stated that it was the responsibility of religious scholars to disseminate the true teachings of Islam among the people, especially the youth of the country, to bring in social reforms, and promote virtue, ethics, and morality in society. He said that Pakistan could progress and achieve its rightful place in the comity of nations through discipline, persistence, moral righteousness, and promoting social justice.

He said that Ulema should make concerted efforts to remove divisions from society, and should promote unity and solidarity within the country. He added that youth should be educated on tolerance, forgiveness, and peace as these were the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has upheld the orders of the Federal Ombudsman for Protection against Harassment of Women (FOSPAH), and directed the restoration of a valuable property of a female citizen of Islamabad through the appointment of a local commission.

The order asked for its vacation from the illegal occupation, breaking open the locks of the premises, in case found locked, removal of any other hurdles or barriers in the way of taking possession of the property, and giving it back to the rightful owner under the Enforcement of Women’s Property Rights Act, 2020.

The president said “a local commissioner be appointed to restore or confer possession of the title of the property, a valuable house in Bahria Town, to Ms Aalya Fazal (the complainant) including measures to perfect such title and to submit a compliance report within seven days”.

The local commissioner could avail the aid of local police if necessary, and the SHO of the local police station should extend full aid to the local commissioner and be present with her at the relevant time along with the police contingent for the safety and security of the local commissioner, it was further added.

The president in his decision rejected the unqualified and baseless stance of the accused person that he had been condemned unheard by FOSPAH, adding that the accused had not produced anything to establish the title of the disputed house in his favour, and thus, had no locus standi to bring the representation against the orders of FOSPAH, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release on Tuesday.

Aalya Fazal had filed a complaint before FOSPAH stating that her father Chaudhary Fazal Hussain has appointed her as his attorney to manage the affairs of his house in Bahria Town, Islamabad. This house was rented to different persons from 2007 to 2016 and afterwards, it remained vacant.

According to the complainant, when her brother visited the house in 2020 it was found that the house was illegally occupied by some unknown persons wherein the matter was reported to Bahria Town and the local police.

The police summoned the person residing in the house who gave the undertaking to vacate the house.

Afterwards, a suit was filed in court that the house was purchased in 2008 based on a forged agreement dated 02.07.2008.

President approves conferment of new Diamond Jubilee Award 2022

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has accorded his approval to the creation and conferment of the new ‘Pakistan Diamond Jubilee Award 2022’.

The president approved the creation of the new award under the Decorations Act, 1975, the President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.

The new honour would come into force from August 14, 2022 and in connection with Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day.

Pakistan Diamond Jubilee Award 2022 would be conferred upon the personnel of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, civil forces and law enforcement agencies in recognition of their services and sacrifices for the protection of Pakistan’s geo-political territories.
