In a statement on Monday, Shah Mahmood has urged the United Nations (UN) to take notice and action against the hate based narrative against Islam.

He said there is resentment in the world over the blasphemous caricatures.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan has written a letter to the CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg, asking him to place a similar ban on Islamophobic and hate triggering content against Islam.

“I am writing to draw your attention to the growing Islamophobia that is encouraging hate, extremism and violence across the world and especially through the use of social media platforms including Facebook,” read the beginning of the letter.

Imran Khan said the message of hate must be banned in total.

He said nor should the world have to wait for a pogrom against Muslims, which is going on in countries like India and in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, to be completed before Islamophobia is banned.

The Prime Minister said unfortunately, in some states, Muslims are being denied their citizenship rights and their democratic personal choices from dress to worship.

“While the Nazis’ hate was directed at the Jews, the RSS directs it at the Muslims, and to a lesser extent, the Christians.”

“The secularism of Gandhi and Nehru has been replaced by the dream of creating a Hindu Rashtra, by subjugating, even cleansing India’s 200 million Muslims and other minorities,” he added.

PM Imran spoke about the RSS’s attempt to destroy the Babri Masjid and the killing of 2,000 Muslims in the Gujarat riots.
