Prime Minister Reaffirms Solidarity With Turkey 5 years After Failed Military Coup

Prime Minister Imran Khan had a telephonic conversation with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan today.

Imran Khan while talking to Erdogan has prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in a natural calamity.

Imran Khan said,

“Pakistan shares the grief of Turkish brothers and sisters.”

It is pertinent to mention here that the Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the Turkish President over the loss of precious lives in the earthquake by the government and the people of Pakistan.

Earlier today, PM Khan had tweeted,

“My condolences to President Erdogan & the people of Turkey on the loss of precious lives in Izmir earthquake. We stand with the Turkish nation, offering every help we can give.”

He went on to write,

“We can never forget the way Turkey stood with us when the devastating earthquake hit Pak & AJK in 2005.”

FM Qureshi telephones Turkish counterpart to discuss matters of mutual interest

FM Qureshi telephones Turkish counterpart

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday held telephonic conversation with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu and discussed bilateral relations with him.

The Foreign Minister felicitated Mevlut Cavusoglu on Turkey’s 97th Republic Day. He lauded Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s clear stance against the growing trend of Islamophobia.

The Turkish Foreign Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement about Islamophobia is commendable.

FM Qureshi thanked the Turkish Foreign Minister for supporting Pakistan on FATF. Turkey’s Cavusoglu appreciated Pakistan’s efforts regarding successful implementation of the FATF action plan.

Expressing grief over the Peshawar blast, he expressed condolence with Qureshi over the loss of precious lives in the incident.

Earlier in a day, Shah Mahmood Qureshi telephoned his Afghan counterpart Mohammad Hanif Atma and said peace in Afghanistan linked with peace and stability of region.

Qureshi said intra Afghan dialogue provides an excellent opportunity for peace and the Afghan leadership must seize this opportunity.
