ISLAMABAD: A district and session court in Islamabad rejected the petitions seeking suspension of the sentences handed down to Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the iddat case.
Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka issued a detailed verdict rejecting the appeals of PTI founder Imran Khan and his Bushra Bibi for suspension of sentence in Iddat case.

Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka wrote in a detailed judgment that both the appeals for suspension of sentence haverejected. He remarked under Section 426 is bailable but the convict is not entitled to bail, under the law even a woman convict cannot be eligible for bail.
Judge Afzal Majoka in his judgment referred to several judgments related to fraudulent marriage and wrote that in the cited judgments, no convict’s sentence was suspended. The convict cannot be considered innocent in the application for suspension of sentence. Founder PTI and Bushra Bibi has served a long time of her sentence.
Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka had reserved the verdict on the appeals against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s sentence on June 25, which was pronounced today.
It should be remembered that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were sentenced to 7, 7 years in prison on 3 February 2024 in a case related to marriage during Iddat, which they challenged.
