Punjab Govt. issues revised schedule for 2021 Matric, Inter exams

The government of Punjab has on Saturday announced a new schedule for this year’s matriculation and intermediate exams across the province.

A notification has been issued by the Punjab government states that the annual matriculation exams will commence on May 25, while the intermediate exam will start on July 3.

Earlier, the exams for matriculation were set to begin on May 4, while the intermediate exams from June 12.

Previously, Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas said that this year students will not be promoted to the next grades without taking their examinations.

Murad Raas had said that all private and public schools in seven cities of Punjab will be closed from Monday (March 15) after the surge in coronavirus cases.

Murad Raas said that the education ministry is trying its best to complete the academic year.

On the other hand, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani said that if the situation worsens, they will go for lockdown.

Federal Minister Education, professional training, National Heritage and culture Shafqat Mahmood had announced that schools will remain open in Sindh and Baluchistan with 50 per cent attendance every day.

Cambridge agrees to reschedule ‘O’ level exams, says Shafqat Mahmood

Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has announced in his recent tweet that Cambridge has agreed to reschedule O-level exams.

“After detailed discussions, Cambridge has agreed to reschedule ‘O’ level exams to after May 15. Details will be shared later by them.”

The federal minister went on to tell,

“However, ‘A’ and ‘As’ level exams will take place as per the original timetable, following all the SOPs. Wishing everyone success in the exams.”

It should be mentioned here that, the O/A-Level students wanted the international board to cancel the CIEs 2021 exams to be canceled as the third wave of corona affected the country.

Earlier, the Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mehmood announced that despite the third wave of coronavirus exams of Intermediate, Matric, and Cambridge will be conducted as per the schedule.

It is to be noted here that Cambridge O and A-Level exams were scheduled to be held on April 26 and end on June 11 in Pakistan.

Schools Reopen: Shafqat Mahmood wishes good luck to students

Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has said that the schools will be resuming from today (18th January).

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Shafqat Mahmood wished good luck to the students who will be going to their schools from tomorrow.

“Tomorrow classes 9 to 12, O and A level go back to school/ college. Wish them the very best. Their future is our main priority,” wrote Education Minister.

In his message, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood further said that the future of students is the first priority of Pakistan.

Earlier, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood announced that schools and colleges would reopen in Pakistan from January 18.

While addressing a press conference, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood announced that in the first phase, classes 9 to 12 would be allowed to resume from January 18.

In the second phase, the minister said, primary to class 8 would resume on January 25.

The minister said that universities and other higher education institutions would reopen from February 1 in the third and last phase.

The minister announced that board exams have been postponed till May and June as students did not have enough time to prepare for their exams.
